Andy Duff - Fuel filler neck?

This fcuker is leaking like buggery!

Now I don't know yet without having a closer look if it's not fitted correctly(seemed to use more petrol straight out of the bodyshop?) or if the pipe is corroded.

All I do know is it needs sorting asap as it's a) dangerous b) makin' me car stink and c) costing me sh1t loadsa money. mad.gif

Can you advise from personal experience mate? wink.gif

Nightmare job and not really fixable if anything like the S13!!!

Tank off a scrapper I'd say, or new filler neck from Nelson S13 one is £130+. If you go the new filler neck way, I bet all the bolts shear off in the tank. frown.gif

Bleedin' hell!!!

Hoping it's just the filler neck is not connected upto the aero filler cap properly.

Should be able to get to it with the back wheel off and the wheel arch liner out the way.

Timmy - have a look first m8 b4 panicing wink.gif However, I got a s/h one from Luke at the zcentre I *think* - could have been MJP though LOL Cost £45 delivered so didn't break the bank. Infact I spent more than that just on wasted fuel eek.gif

Mine had gone where the breather attaches to the neck... It may well be that it has been broken when the kit was fitted though - if it was already corroded it would have just fallen apart - mine was ok until I moved it then it seperated into about 6 pieces LOL

Good luck m8 - tank off job to fix though frown.gif

Let me know if I can help wink.gif

Tim,

I had to replace mine a few weeks ago, the splashback trap thingy was missing and I was chucking fuel everywhere under braking (!) My mechanic actually did the work - he said it was a massive PITA!! He had to partially drop the tank I think. I got a replacement from AndyZ - £15+P+P (what a nice chap!!)

Cheers!

Trap thing gets removed I think when you have the aero style filler and neck extension for the wide arch fitted.

I'm not losing fuel out of the filler flap, somewhere behind the arch liner and I can see where it's splashed down the filler neck and all over the pass back box!

P.S. off to Harry's to buy a dry powder fire extinguisher! biggrin.gif
