Jay,

The error code 34 is not warning of detonation, it is telling you there is a fault with the knock sensor circuit.

The gurgling is probably your AIV's.

Do you have an electronic valve controller? If you have and are getting detonation then the ECU wont retard the power.. eek!

Either way, sounds like the knock sensor is causing problems, be careful mate.

AIVS HAVE BEEN FULLY REMOVED

ive had this gurgle for a while i showed andy the car so he could listen ,its a sound like when ya let the water out of ya bath ,noise ya get when water runs down the plug hole

U CANT HEAR ANYTHING AT IDLE

only hear it very slightly when ya drivin at a constant speed then slightly accelerating

it hasnt affected the performance of the car at all

runs boost ok

a few people have told me that it could be slight dettin(from a hot spot caused by a blockage or something)

i tried a coolant flush and it sorted it for a while but now its back even tho its not as bad.

now i got the code 34 for 3 times on the ecu then it went back to 55

ive watched the a/f meter(both sides) and its never run lean

ITS A FUNNY 1 THAT 4 GARAGES CANT FIND OUT WATS WRONG

any ideas or help would be appreciated

jay

Sounds simple but have you tried new plugs??? Coked up plugs will cause detonation but usually under high load. Code 34 will mean you have a problem with the dett sensor circuit not detonation. Although there is some debate on this as to whether it treats det as a code 34... Have you had the timing checked? This only happens at cruise/very light load at a specific rpm - very strange!!!

oops the code 34 is probs because of loose connector wire!

andy the plugs are recent(1 year old)

i had the timing checked by ginger mans mates, couple of months ago

like you said it is a funny 1 .for a guy who is a liability with a spanner!!

skippy wats ur expert advice then???
