SE Nissan

Just a quick, one, I'm still newish to the world of the 300zx and I've been given big recommendations by everbody silvia engineering and quality of workmanship.. now I'm on the brink of letting AbbeyMotorsport (HKS) start tuning the car, but I'm now wondering if silvia is a better route?

Opinions please? Also where abouts are they and does anybody have contact details for them? website seems to be gone?

KEEP IT SIDEWAYS;).

And my Skyline has been looked after exclusively by Abbey Motorsport.

I might suggest you telephone and visit both businesses and make up your mind based on what you see.

For more feedback on SE run search here, for feedback on Abbey run search on www.gtr.co.uk

HTH, and lets have no sniping on this one, it aint worth it - search reveals all.

Good luck,

I use SE because they're the nearest to me. I'm in Cambridge. Phone manner is okay, but they never call you back.

However, when you get there in person they are excellent. There can't be a lot that they don't know about Zs. I've had all my work there including a turbo boost up to 1 bar yesterday. From 3K revs up it's now a true flying machine. Fvcking fantastic!!

One thing though, get them to write down exactly what you want done otherwise they forget.

Overall though, I find them excellent.

Im booked in at SE Nissan for a tuning/setup day next week as they have so much 300 knowledge, but they don't have their own rolling road so its onto the local roads for tuning it.

Abbey nmotorsport have just taken delivery of a wheel hub mounted rolling road unit so that should be the best quality around.

OK Glen a search on here for Abbey would show NOTHING about them?

Does that not tell you something?

They may have looked after your Skyline in the past,Does that mean they are experts on the Z32?

you are correct there MAC (heaven forbid lmao) I think they will even admit they have not pulled a motor on a zed yet (last time i was there they told me that) They really do know their stuff though, and i would not doubt them on a skyline. Not so sure about labour rate, i got the impression last time i was down there that they charge an arm and a leg?

(i could be wrong)

How much do Abbey charge per hour - do you know... or is everything fixed price?

Being 10 mins from Abbey, I popped in to see them about my Z, Very nice people (experts in Skylines and Pulsars but frankly admitted that there knowledge of the 300 was limited. Could do an induction kit and zorst, but nothing else. Recommended another place CALLED?

SE.

I think that sums it up!

I think that clarifies my what I was saying.

I could not give a flying t*ss what tuner anyone on here uses - I was merely pointing someone in the direction of forum search engines.

Yes I know what you were doing FFS I can F*ckin read!

Why point someone in the direction of Abbey motorsport, when they know JACK SHIT about the Z32?

I don't give a flying shit if they looked after your Skyline,I have no doubt they know the Skyline very well, the point is why tel someone to use them if they don't work on Z32s??????????????????

Anyone fancy a pint? biggrin.gif

I have never used SE but after all the horror stories I have read about them keeping a car for X months, never answering the phone, etc.

So I went with JeffTT for the following reasons:

1. Only mechanic I found who consistently answered phones and replied to emails

2. Good level of knowledge

3. Other mechanics could not give me a data when they could start the work.

4. Reasonable prices

I really think that every mechanic on this board has good and bad reports. SE would have been a lot closer but I didnt have months to get my 60k done.

LOL thats it Bruce I am now takeing my car to Quick fit for a massive power increase biggrin.gif

Nice idea Mr Duffman, Sir - as long as it is proper southern bitter (none of this foreign fizzy yellow stuff).

Actually, having re-read most posts, I think most people are agreeing with each other biggrin.gif Just a bit violently wink.gif

Abbey have a great reputation for Skylines, and SE have a rep for Zeds so it wasn't a bad idea to recommend both searches on both forums.

But hey-ho - I think I'll go off and chant something. I'm on holiday in 36 hours so I am all Buddha'd up. smile.gif

Why? Are SE not answering the phones again??? biggrin.gif ROFLMFAO

CheerZ,

Andy

When I was at the Nurburgring, I met a guy from the UK Z Club who went to Abbey to ask them about big power in his Z. They told him the only way to go is with a single turbo conversion. I think that says it all really.

They are definitely the knackers for Skylines though.

I quote myself again just for you GLEN!!!!

Because the original post asked about Abbey Motorsport and i thought it would be civilised to reply with a link to some information on, hey ho, Abbey Motorsport smile.gif

If he had requested information on tuning forks I would happily have sent the guy looking at www.tuning-forks.com

FWIW though nix SE also looked after my 300zx and though their customer service is similar to that of Saddam Hussien, the work they carried out was fine.

I didnt.

Not once.

Why are we arguing?

Oh and Nix - dont ask stupid bl**dy questions again eh wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif
