Just a quick, one, I'm still newish to the world of the 300zx and I've been given big recommendations by everbody silvia engineering and quality of workmanship.. now I'm on the brink of letting AbbeyMotorsport (HKS) start tuning the car, but I'm now wondering if silvia is a better route?

 

Opinions please? Also where abouts are they and does anybody have contact details for them? website seems to be gone?

I don't know which SE some of you guys have been speaking to in the past few months.

 

If you book the car in with them you shouldn't have a problem and state clearly what you want doing!

 

I just rang SE as my car has been with them all week. I got straight through to a lovely young lady who then passed me onto Bob(new guy who is very good) who told me my car is done.

 

I had my autobox cooler and adjustable tension rods fitted on a Saturday morning a few months back and car was finished in about an hour and a half. Also they did my Stillen brake kit and fixed my viscous fan which had gone west! Peter actually advised me against fitting my ASP pulley at that particular time incase the cooling problem wasn't 100 percent sorted. Sound advise seeing as I still had a leak from somewhere!

 

This week I asked them to fit top rad hose and bottom stainless jobby. Fix oil leak from oil pressure sensor housing and sort a coolant leak. PCV valves replacing.

 

All done! I pick the car up tomorrow.

 

Customer service has improved greatly IMO in the last six months.

 

No garage or tuner will rebuild you an engine/gearbox in a week.

 

FACT! SE look after Z's, GTi-R's, 200SX's, Skylines and I've seen a Micra owner in asking for parts! LMFAO

 

They do engine rebuilds, tune ups, gearbox rebuilds, excellent bodywork and their own range of products for all above mentioned cars. Name me another specialised Engineering company that covers such a diverse range of automotive tuning over so many cars. Not many I'm sure.

 

I'm not starting anything here just giving facts about recent experiences.

You're right customer service had improved a lot over the last six months. Amazing what a change of body behind the phone can do. She doesn't forget things like her prededessor used to.

 

When I was worried that the cylinder heads had gone again after just a few months they were more than happy to spend time talking me through the symtoms. So full marks there

Sorry but they do still forget things! I had to ask 3 times in the last 7 days for some directions to get to them and finally got it when I said I was standing by the fax machine waiting for it. Whatever anyone says about how good they are I am still scared shitless about them having my car next week, any time an engine tuner works on your car you face either heaven or hell! I know I've been to both with a selection of tuning & garage companies. If anyone is near SE next Thursday and wants to see a grown man holding back the tears as they work on his car, just come along. Of course if I leave them with more bhp, good advice and a job well done then I will be back on here to rave about it. That assumes I don't get home on the back of an AA transporter.

 

Gio, I need a mantra fix me up mate - I've got PSD (pre-tuning stress disorder).

No offence but you have that many guys on here who know how to get to SE and it's people like you asking for simple things that hold the phone lines up and damage SE's productivity level!!! ROFL
