So what's everyone doing for Christmas?
I'm not at all religious, so Xmas for me is all about Family. Its not what it used to be for me, but thankfully I have my daughters over the xmas period this year so I will doing my best to make it special for them. This is actually the busiest period for Motorsport, inbetween race seasons, so I was lucky that my team were willing to cover for me and I get the time off this year between xmas and new year. Im looking forward to cooking up plenty of Pigs in Blankets, and I've got a pair of cylinder heads for the Z to reassemble inbetween turkey sandwiches.

roll cage looking for ideas!
The main hoop will be in front of the rear passengers, just behind the front seats and joins up with the rear Suspension turrets behind their heads. Which means those diagonal support bars will run straight through where their heads need to go unfortunately. The bars look like they might be removable, cant properly see the attachments at the lower of the support bars, if so then you could unbolt it all , leaving just the main hoop in for when on the road.

roll cage looking for ideas!
I wouldn't have a full cage on any road car (too dangerous without a helmet). With a LWB the 4 point rear bar loses you the rear seats, but on a SWB a 4 point Rear roll bar setup is a worthy addition imo for a fast road car and occasional track toy. It has no negative effect on Driver/Passenger space or Road safety but provides additional safety, stiffens up the chassis, allowing the suspension to do its job better - which in turn improves handling and Ride comfort and provides harness attachment for occasional track day use.

roll cage looking for ideas!
Roll cage and harnesses while retaining use of rear seats - Forget it. If you found a way to to still make it physically possible for somebody to get in the back with the cage and harness bar installed it would be a death trap should anything happen.

Nico Rosberg retires from F1
I did.... but only a few hours before the media did  Was big surprise though. For the replacement my money is on Werhlein or Bottas. Would love to see Verstappen as Hamiltons teammate though.

Happy Birthday DCarey
Its been off the road for several years. He did have some very big plans for it, but I understand he has more modest intentions for it now. I'll drop him a message...

Steering issue
The UJ is a replaceble separate part https://conceptzperformance.com/nissan-oem-48080-30p01-steering-joint-coupler-nissan-300zx-90-96-z32_p_2466.php. (more expensive than expected - you could get a good used one, it's not s common issue)

Conzult Free O2 sensor readings
I've not used the Free Conzult version, but I remember with the Datascan software it only has 1 displayed by default and you need to enable the 2nd by going into settings an replacing one of of the other display outputs with the 2nd o2 Sensor.

Not really, you can convert the HLA's into Solid by dissaembling and shimming the internals which costs next to nothing, but there are a number of benefits to the HLA setup itself, such as quieter, low maintenance. "Apparantly" the stock HLA setup on the VH engine is retained in the SuperStock racing series over in New Zealan where they are taking them to 9000rpm+ Im going MAP setup with a Emerald K6, founded by one of UK's most renowned tuners - Dave Walker, and recommended highly by John Dixon.

Yep, exactly, everything contributing to the same goal. In this instance I bought the engine with uprated cams already. They are a little milder than I would of hoped, but they should be up to the job. If not, I will have to consider getting them re-profiled later on. I am replacing the Valvesprings to cope with the higher rpm loads though. Im also going to go against the grain a little and attempt to stick with Hydraulic lifter setup, which typically you would replace for a Solid setup at these RPM goals, but we'll see how it copes.
