December 5, 20168 yr If it's an NA like i think it is, then it's only worth half that... Advert says twin turbo
December 5, 20168 yr Advert says twin turbo I know but its got an na front bumper. You would be stupid to not have any ducts for your intercoolers. And I cant see the clocks etc so cant tell further.

December 5, 20168 yr There are TT's out there that have suffered a bang on the front bumper and the owners have put the wrong front bumper on to replace it ! But jury is out on this one as we have no pics of the engine or dials. Love the wheels :tt1:
December 5, 20168 yr I spoke to this guy months and months ago, asking why it had an NA bumper on and how the air got to the intercoolers... He replied saying he'd done loads of trackdays in the car and never had a problem!! I don't imagine he's done it any favours at all by doing that.........

He replied saying he'd done loads of trackdays in the car and never had a problem!!. Thermodynamics is so overrated! She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.

December 6, 20168 yr If it's an NA like i think it is, then it's only worth half that... It looks in very good order, which would make it worth more than the average TT rat in my eyes. N\A or not
December 6, 20168 yr It looks in very good order, which would make it worth more than the average TT rat in my eyes. N\A or not But sadly that's not how demand sits at the moment. You know that from selling your na.
December 6, 20168 yr But sadly that's not how demand sits at the moment. You know that from selling your na. Maybe and I dont quite get why, as an N\a drives better than a TT in my view. With my NA, I just wanted rid of it. Had I waited longer would have sold it for much more.
December 6, 20168 yr Balls, and to think I have spent nearly £7500 for mine so far....(when finished at Lee's).
December 6, 20168 yr Change the front spoiler and the rear spoiler (its not on straight anyway) and you would have a nice early SWB TT with low miles. The seller looks like a trader as he has other cars for sale and if you zoom in on the pic below you can see the turbo dial in the MPH clock. Also it looks like new paint with the mirror bases colour coded. Edited December 6, 20168 yr by Gaz 300
December 6, 20168 yr Thermodynamics is so overrated! After seeing what's rammed behind the intercoolers on these cars air flow apparently doesn't appear a design concern. Does make you wonder how effective they even are.
December 6, 20168 yr Looks like the seller bought at auction last Saturday for £4,400 http://www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/1989-nissan-300-zx-turbo [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "Exaggeration is the enemy of credibility"
December 6, 20168 yr looks like the seller bought at auction last saturday for £4,400 http://www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/1989-nissan-300-zx-turbo lol
December 6, 20168 yr Looks like the seller bought at auction last Saturday for £4,400 http://www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/1989-nissan-300-zx-turbo +10% buyers premium (+20% vat on that) + entry fees so would be in it for around £5k
December 6, 20168 yr Balls, and to think I have spent nearly £7500 for mine so far....(when finished at Lee's). Mmm... false market had done you over in my view, saying that, what we spend on cars for personal styling is rarely recouped but but paying top money and then finding basic mechanical and body work faults is damn annoying. In 1993 I bought a black 1990 import Zed twin turbo showing 40k kilometres from an importer, paid £7,500 at the time UK cars were around £22k so my import looked a fantastic bargain, but of course though I was treated like a pariah at Nissan dealers and was way before the import scene had taken off so suffered the usual "oh its an import " and much less club and show scene, so set about learning all I could about this car and amazingly had picked up a zed full of Veilside add on`s ( lucky ) Changed the cambelt, serviced and enjoyed... NO RUST in those days of course. I sold it a year of so later for over £10k as the import scene had taken off, waited a full year and bought another import twin turbo for £4,500 ( garage did not know what they were selling ) were still £10k + then anywhere else, this was my car until sold a couple of years ago. with bits I got £7k for it, strong money but the car had been lavished upon with new everything basically, was my second learning car after all. So here we are now seeing £20k prices ( utter madness ) £12k prices ( madness ) and sub £10k prices, ( good if the car is sorted ) however the £2k to £6k market is still a hit and miss affair.Given now the corrosion issues with both UK and Import zeds its vital to have a full inspection when buying including the all important look underneath on a ramp, if the seller is reluctant, just walk away. One point, remember when I bought my first zed back in the early nineties when UK prices were + £20k and my import sub £10k, what happened? UK cars were always considered "better" by many and we all know they are more or less the same car with just the country of first use difference, hey mine was only 3 years old at the time, and I know has just this year been broken up by the owner, so lasted just as well as a UK model, only been broken to recoup some money on a massive custom overspend. So what do we have here, a situation where we all want our cars to be worth big bucks of course we do, BUT, hand on heart how many have really been the subject of a worthy life, my last one was essentially a garage queen, which was a total waste, sold it with just 27k more miles than it had all those years ago when I bought it. Had a moment of madness ( or clarity ?) and tried to buy it back last year, the new owner of course wanted too much for me to buy it back and I know that motor inside out! be real careful guys when buying as there is so much over priced and under worked on one`s they can spell financial ruin if you get it wrong. Jeff
December 6, 20168 yr True, and to be honest im enjoying the resto on mine. By the time I've finished I will have spent about 10K and then ill know its what I want and will be sorted.
December 6, 20168 yr Defo a TT Its the one I owned last year that everyone slagged off moaning about stickers and the n/a bumper oh look it still works without ducts lol. It's had 2 owners since July lad who bought off me gas done a full paint job, fitted standard wheel and bonnet but still no TT bumper, miles are genuine 4 uk owners since 2006/2007
