Ok so my new n/a has a strange steering issue which myself & 1 of the previous owners can't seem to get to the bottom of.

When turning steering wheel (left or right) to lock it goes from a feeling of resistance to none at all at about half at turn & then back again?..... on, off,on,off & back again....

I thought it was something to do with the PAS but no, now up on axle stands with the wheels off its exactly the same.

1 of the previous owners changed the rack twice, still not resolved?....

It feels like something is out of shape or bent. Could it be the coloum itself, it does have a solid steering coloum spacer?...

Bent arms?

I'm at a loss, any ideas?

Is the uj ok on the steering column where it connects to the rack.

If this was seizing it would give tight spots...

The UJ is a replaceble separate part

Thanks mate don't want to pay that sort of money though! Is there not anywhere else I could get it? MJP perhaps or maybe someone who's a breaking a car on here has one?.....
