  1. It is now official i am upgrading my series 4 into a series 1, look at the below pic where you notice this bit of ducting which connects to the one that runs across and for the feet, well that piece on my series 4 is just a capped off stub, i have non of this but not anymore.
  2. I have the XTD and the flywheel, not had a single problem with it, handles my 500.
  3. Happy birthday pal.
  4. Not Rochdale, Baxenden. The diff is not there Tom.........................that's because it's safely in my garage .
  5. Oh dear, think i'd better put myself back on standby !!!!!
  6. Spent more time on my interior in the last couple of days, took me an eternity cleaning down the sections removing the glue residue, all in the prep i guess anyhow a pic of my efforts. Then it was a case of mapping out the old pieces onto my last bit of alcantara, i'm going to buy another 1m piece and keep it for future projects/amendments, etc. I am just holding back for a day or so on covering the SWB 'T' section behind the seats and the glovebox, it's very possible i'll get much much better ones for covering from a local breaker. Basically it's fold out with your hand making sure the fabric cut contours full coverage of the interior section and then slap on some time bond glue, the underside takes me the longest, trimming back, putting cuts in and i stick down with hot glue. And for now one more pic, happy how these are turning out, they aren't far off perfect :cool3:.
  7. Think it's the lesser of two evils, they will crack or show creases similar perhaps to a worn or used leather seat, personally my preference is always body colour.
  8. Looking at it, sure it'll be the door mirrors and only that he'll show a dislike to :2guns:.
  9. Lets move on from my respray catastrophe, did my door cards a while back and fit them today, in a quick fashion because they'll be coming off again in a couple of weeks. Not done too bad on them, i'm not helped with the vinyl being cut by a previous owner but they're a great improvement on the light grey faux leather i had and give a more factory look, plenty more to do but you can see here the bit under the steering wheel is done also. Charcoal alcantara is what i'm using, i will say it's a labour of love and those that are using Simon for their interiors, well money well spent i'd say because it's fiddly time consuming work.
  10. Same guy ? Good heavens no Simon, think anyone, able bodied or not could of done better, correct it is atrocious. Thank you for efforts over the badge - not in any rush now it seems, i'll order one from Japan though. I will don't worry !! I had a go at polishing out my scratches a while back, successful to a certain extent, i'm just left with some distortion. Therefore or however, i shall remove the glass, my paint guy as promised to give them a good going over, i told him they were blue and very very rare !! Strange, he replied 'do people still have THAT bronze glass fitted' ? I said 'haha', on then getting up off the floor i said back 'believe it or not they do' !!!!!!!!!!!!!! It looks tatty and lazy work doesn't it, don't worry Gary my friend i have about 2 more pairs of handles so i will choose out all the best pieces when i put back together. Incredibly kind but i'm in no rush either, bound to be in the new year when i'll be popping one on but many thanks for thinking about me :winkiss:.
  11. My guy is talking about the glass out, certainly doors off, wings off - no half hearted pussy footing about this time :thumbup1:.
  12. I took off all pretty much by myself, the bumpers, front lights, rear lights, door cards, door mirrors, spats, rear markers, wing indicators, etc. I ran out of time and remember i told him the door handles were only held on with 2 nuts and one was behind a blank for access, sadly he never bothered. He did, thinking back i should of run a mile, it's hard to believe such an incompetent job has been done, what hurts more is i let it happen. It'll be put right, mainly due to the fact i cannot live with it like this, going back to Mondo's point, i will remove the handles this time and then the key barrel, lesson learnt and i will be going the extra mile now in every aspect.
  13. Had the car up on a ramp today and saw the imperfections in the paint in all their glory, look at the pic below....where do i start !! Onto why i was there, professional adjustment of my ride height, pre load check and then digital alignment. Lotus expert this guy as the next pic proves called Phoenix Motorsport, he had about 5 in. My car now set up perfectly, well worth the couple of hours, pleasant experience and at a reasonable charge :cool3:.
  14. Pure white 5k :thumbup1::thumbup1: or hot pink :winkiss::winkiss:.
  15. Nice one Lee, just got myself the first 4 episodes, will give it a go as i do with this kind of thing :cool3:.
  16. For sure not going back to the first guy, the saviour now i'm using i've used many many times before, he has never let me down and his thorough, will not do half a job, we had a good chat this afternoon, don't ask why i didn't go with him in the first place because i don't know the answer !!:hang::blush::stupid::headvswal
  17. My car as been appraised and the news is.....................needs totally re doing, no surprise there !! Lets not dwell, need to move forward is the attitude. So i am now going to strip initially here on my drive and in my garage, much much more than before, he's talking doors off, wings off, spraying the shell and so on. I had none of this before, my bad i know, with a view to him having it in about a months time. So that just leaves me to just furnish this post with a pic (sorry, must sort my lens as i do have a shadow on all my pics), i know it kinda looks ok in distance pics that i have posted but let me assure the reader it is not, neil neil orange peel :(.
  18. Not sure what that is Alic, spooky only appears under the lens, could just be dirt, there is a tiny spot however under the flap and that is a fault. I had no pre load at all on one front corner up to 3 weeks ago, don't know how that come about and how long i've been driving with it like that !! So rather than factory set pre loads i have guessed, you are correct weighing/pre load is what i require from him and further alignment, not really ride height. Might just go with the rear spats first and then look again, certainly needs something on the rear.
  19. Thank you, yes no home made 300ZX light up things in the quarter windows any more . Looking forward to speaking to my bodyshop guy tomorrow afternoon, soon put things right.
  20. It's on Alliance Street in Baxenden which a part of Accrington Tom. I've been many times and if you mention that your friend has been it'll do no harm, i'm sure he'll be glad to sell a few bits off it, i've just really told him what i wanted to pay and he and i have been reasonable with each other.
  21. They've never been perfect Joel, i did the bolts up, yes tight for nice fitment but the ripples were already there, i'll get it sorted for sure when it goes in yet again !! Spent Monday on my stance, attending to all four, some up some down and i'm very happy. Been out for a tootle around the many humps round my parts and where it caught before there was no sign of it this time. Going to work with a Lotus Motorsport guy on Thursday afternoon, hook it up to some alignment, set up machinery. I've got it aesthetically right imo but if he wants to drop ever so slightly i'd be comfortable with that but this i doubt will be necessary. This last pic is only really here because it looks good , amazing what a bit of tyre dressing can do and very briefly over with the metal polish . My silver spats are yet to go on, he didn't do a bad job on them to be fair, without these or mud flaps from the rear i just think it just doesn't look right.
  22. Gladly if i could find the ebay item, leave it with me.
  23. There is a n/a SWB 1989 Targa in a breakers in Accrington near me, i am 95% sure the bits you require are still on it Tom :cool3:.
  24. I think the term is 'not gone on right' - whatever that means, environment i guess. Weds now my saviour is coming round to appraise this :scared:. Yes it all started very well but when i first saw it after the lacquer i started to fear but with correction methods and some work i thought it'd be ok . That isn't the case at all, more the reason i am terribly disappointed. I don't honestly think he's capable, you live and learn. Another bug bear is the ripple where the bumper meets the wing which you can see here, anyhow this is my kerb light, dipped hid light and halo are on in this pic, had this before so just tested and working perfectly :cool3:.
  25. You can see the shade difference on this pic . No paint at all here and the sanding incomplete, this was the only wheel/corner i didn't adjust whilst there or else i would of seen it, i didn't see the many issues until i got back home, something you don't expect to see from time served. Just want really to put it all behind me and move on.
