  1. Sorry Simon my bad, i did read what you put and forgot he'd have USDM lights, think they're 9006 type for the lows, i've had some sent to me once and what strange contraptions their headlights are !!
  2. T10 fitment you need something like this, if the length fits in is a word of caution !! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2PCS-50W-921-912-T10-T15-Car-Bright-LED-White-Backup-Reverse-Light-Bulb-F7-/222201757803?var=&hash=item33bc41c06b:m:mek6y_wOtPBRNSyjrglzjpA Loads of white bulbs on ebay but are they white and not a hint of blue, you take a chance on this and also brightness. If you can put in a reverse light bulb holder and the length is there you can use these 80w ones and i know these are damn bright as i have these in my kerb lights http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2PCS-1157-BAY15D-80W-CREE-LED-Super-Bright-Car-Driving-Fog-Auto-Light-Lamp-Bulb-/252452909270?hash=item3ac75db0d6:g:uaAAAOSwBLlVGnTV
  3. I'm just building some 89 spec headlights and when i looked through my 'stock' realized i didn't have any spare ballasts,so bought these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262522400201?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Nothing wrong with buying separately, surprised his Funkiness has not mentioned H3c HID bulbs which you should try and locate. 6000k is a tad on the blue side (hence less light as said), personally i go for 5000k or 4300k. You can buy 50cm extenders if need be, to enable ballasts to be mounted under the nose panel or wherever you desire, mine are just plonked where i can get at them. My experience is i've always bought from the far east with hardly an issue, it's all cheap enough these days to replace so always have spares handy.
  4. Forgot about some more MDF that's for the dump and this little lot weighed another 8.5kgs, so with the cabling i didn't weigh - in total i've removed a quite staggering 50kgs !! 50 trillion million times better :cool3:. Factory is the way to go !! Everything is bolted in with the oem bolts and nuts Took me a while to figure out the luggage straps but it finishes things off very nicely . Next update will come when i re visit a Lotus motor sport set up guy, he already did the 4 wheel alignment a few weeks ago, it was way out he said, he recommended i lift the car because it's too low and i agree, so this we will do together and have a play about. Then on the 19th Sept it's going in for a full respray in it's factory KL0 colour, this will deepen the colour from what it is now because the sun/elements have not been kind, the tried and tested AG3 colour will be used here and there. At the same time it's in the shop the Work Equip centres will be attended to, very probably in shadow chrome. Another job will be to do the interior, i am going to go a dark grey or a charcoal alcantara.....not happy with the light grey anymore. I still also need to visit Denty later this year, he has a 1 piece prop down there of mine to fit, very soon then my car will be spot on and 100% to my liking :).
  5. I might be able to help you there......
  6. 41kgs !!!! Correct, the chinese suppliers/people have bought themselves some balancing machines and are using them !! The serial numbers on the print offs all seem to tally, ie they don't just copy off the same one and send it out with each pair of turbos !! Tomorrow should see me putting all the interior back in, gone is the tint i had on the 1/4 windows .
  7. Nothing wrong at all with my balanced this time GSP600, in fact my engine is perfect. No smoke nothing, only had the EBC set on low, this gives me more than enough at around 13psi, not once have i been above this since it was forged.......just no need. The manifolds were pants and must of cracked very early on with the initial unbalanced GSP's (not related of course) and the subsequent trip to Noel, they just couldn't cope, stock manifolds now on and no sign of a blow.
  8. Today sees me visit 2 x breakers, 1 of which was a slicktop and i took my time and removed all these, what i like is they still have their soundproofing and pretty much all the bolt tabs are intact. In a moment sees me filling the sink with warm soapy water and getting these spotless, i got the blind as well........it was full of water but i think it'll come up like new, it already rolls out fine and was gratis !! I have adjustable damper control but i think i'll just set in the middle of their travel and cover over, rather than cut an hole in the boot piece which i did before although it was tidily done and the style bar will not be put back on either.
  9. I'm just left with some distortion, overall a great improvement on what i had which was basically scrap badly scratched swb blue glass, i'll live with what i have now. Anyway, when it goes in for a full respray i'm going to get the shop to polish them some more and hope for some further improvement. I shall weigh what i have taken out Richie in the next few days.
  10. I can report all my 4 stock location speakers working, nice to have fade, balance, etc, all perfect............makes for a better listen. I did have some buzzing as soon as soon as i put the lights on but i got to the bottom of this, it was an invertor i have fitted, swapped out for another and the loud buzzing is no more, happy days. This below is my 'removal' pile.....
  11. Appreciate your comment Brian, for my own curiosity i'm going to weigh all i take out and my guess the way it's going.....30kgs. Gone is all my colour changing rgb lights, this includes the 1/4 window 300ZX lights and as a consequence the reverse light panel will no longer change colour, it'll be re done and light up only in subtle red. More stuff like this removed today, one of these in each footwell which served the door speakers and tweeters. All the factory speaker wiring is still all there and is all being pleasingly re connected, just four speakers will remain and all have been upgraded from stock, i will be keeping the door card tweeters, they'll just piggy back on the door focal ones, if not i'd have a great dirty hole !! Quite therapeutic this cleansing !!! This below was the power lead to the amps and was connected to the battery, all gone :thumbup1:.
  12. Happy birthday :thumbup1:.
  13. This thread is the closest i've got to a build thread and as i have plans a foot happening i shall update here. Today sees me ripping out my amps, previous owner built this and yes the sound was good but it's not for me anymore, too untidy and couple with the fact i rarely have the stereo on it was time to go. I had a light up steel plate over this so that is going as well. Bit of mdf involved in getting it all to fit, so a weight loss as well.....it's win win, more to come :cool3:
  14. Makes you wonder how the significance of bodywork, interior, etc, is in a grading to get it a four, if the paperwork/provenence is not in order it's unfortunate in this case but the grading must be down at a 1 i would of thought. Would you of bought knowing this ? 100% you'd of said no. I not so long ago had a chance of a cat D vehicle, price was reduced goes without saying, but it still did not tempt me, stigma against it and then one day i would of had to sell - not for me i'm afraid.
  15. Methinks you have your answer .
  16. shitty is it that !!!
  17. A tad late but i'll put this here for future searches Post 4 http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?181276-rear-wheel-tracking&highlight=wheel+alignment
  18. Enjoy your day Graham........50 is it .
  19. That'll look great on your R34 .
  20. Is your battery full of beans, ie does it crank lively for a good 10 seconds ?
  21. Mmmmm yes, although i do love ac it's only rarely i miss it in the Z when temps are in the mid 20's or i'm stuck in traffic, then it's not comfortable but this isn't often for us north of Watford, as you know i am a very very cool person !! Briefly today i used the car and with the windows down if i cup my hand i can simulate ac as i mooch along, haha.
  22. Are you trying to be funny :glare:.
