Wing Mirror Wiring - Oddity of the week!
I know i've messed with the mirror a few times in the past Graham but i don't even remember doing that :surrender:.

What did you do to your zed today?
Yes it's knocked his mirror off many times it seems !!

Wing Mirror Wiring - Oddity of the week!
This is incredibly unlikely that both mirrors have failed in every aspect. I'm not sure on the grounding issue but again for both to lose theirs - just doesn't make sense.

Zed no.2
I think you are thinking of PaulC Baz, that car was broken up - this one did remind me of it as well though.

Wing Mirror Wiring - Oddity of the week!
It's hard to follow what you've done with just a quick read but you are correct 5 wires is everything but the heated part and therefore is the other two making seven which you could put in from the HRW switch. Mine as seven at the female and when i first got the car a 5 wire mirror was fitted so no heated - i put it in actually but now i have proper 7 wired mirrors. I also had an issue a month or so ago when the fuse kept popping, i do have a after market mirror closing module so this was under investigation and for a while i was frustrated but it turned out a sheath had chaffed on the body, so every time i tried to fold it would blow. You say you do have power but does that rule out fuse which you fail to mention, sometime sleep on things and first cover the basics !! EDIT:Oh and don't assume that all the wiring colours match through - these things are set to test us.

Slicktop Rescue
Great to see more pics Baz of this great find, don't like you changing it's colour though and what a great cover story :sneaky2:. Is there a space saver under all that orange and passion fruit smoothie, looks like you need to pull the plug .

JDM rear fog
UK's have noticeable 2 x fog lights built in to the bumper, 1 i believe is a dummy and i expect this'll be the L/H one. In the reverse light panel a red 21w bulb can be used in the stock location (so swapping it for a clear reverse bulb) on the R/H side shining through the clear lens but as FunkySi has said you'll need to just have the cabin wiring on hand to connect to the multi plug whenever necessary, ie mot time. Fyi a reverse light is not required for MOT and the fog light needs to be positioned anywhere from in the centre to the R/H side.

What did you do to your zed today?
It comes with double sided sticky on iirc, sure i just used that and managed to get it totally square - i would recommend a blob of silicone perhaps instead of/aswell, this will not damage and it'll give you some wiggle time, once happy you can masking tape over to secure overnight. I am ahead of you - here's one i aahheeerm deployed earlier  The airbag did not dislodge the horn buttons fyi.

speedo not working
I think this is spot on advice, the cluster needs just sitting down with and going through it all - sure Mr. Dent will find it in no time but i must say Rich i thought a man your skill would of sorted this .

A rare find ???
Had the tyres swapped over so i have now a perfect bit of rubber on the alloy space saver, dressed it when it was briefly inflated and for closure here we are :).

What did you do to your zed today?
Goodness...............is that all what's involved these days for getting the golden ticket, Stephen could do with taking his car to the same station, no fog light issues here it seems !!

Rear fog light MOT
This is pretty much like my place, if the headlights need adjusting for instance they'd just do it without charge or fuss and/or if i'm right there they'd let me do it right before them. You can do all that, bit of fiddling though because you'll have to feed a spur off a brake wire and then through the tailgate rubber and onto the 3rd brake light but will work if that's the route you want to take. Lumens from a brake light are generally the same as ones used for a fog.

A rare find ???
Following on, i did try and buy a grey coloured SWB space saver - i don't know for sure but i think this may be specific to the convertibles.........anyway i didn't manage to get my hands on it but i have now got the spare alloy type i talked about earlier in this thread :cool3:. Here it is in the foreground below, the tyre on it, although it keeps its psi, is badly cracked but luckily the tyre on my original one in the background is pretty much mint so i'll have the 5J's swapped over, so this is both of mine inflated. This below is the unsexy steel one and i am pretty sure this will NOT go on my fronts if need be because my 15mm hubcentric bolts are proud for one thing. Whereas i'm pretty sure the alloy type one pictured below will by the looks of it go on all four because of the cut-outs, incidentally i did think there was a difference in weight when i was handling and so it proved - the steel one weighs 15kgs.......the alloy one below weighs 12.5kgs, win win all round ;).

Rear fog light MOT
The brightness the sellers say equals that of a 50w bulb not the consumption, that'll only be 5w. When i buy reverse bulbs i have to get the 80w ones and these are comparable to the 21w stock bulb, the colour is a crisp white though as opposed to 'yellowish' of the filament. You'll probably find the 50w cree is a bit weedy and will lead to disappointment, stick with the red 1156 imo.

Rear fog light MOT
You could put some foil in the bottom to bridge the contacts and you could also paint the glass yourself but be aware they get very hot but it'll only be on briefly.

Rear fog light MOT
Not really but i see your train of thought, the 21w just drowns out the sidelight part. You just need one of these....not £6 though !! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RED-21W-BA15s-bulb-STOP-BRAKE-FOG-1156-382-12v-light-lamp-car-auto-new-bayonet-/271538408068?hash=item3f38f34a84:g:u-cAAOxy7S5R-nGh
