My SWB Zed...
You have the same problems as i have when trying to show these in their best light. Glad you like them Adam - thanks for uploading and your kind comments. Looking forward to seeing that washer jet combo :cool3:.

What did you do to your zed today?
I thought years ago my door glasses were too scratched and i acquired some from a breaker and fit but these were bronze, recently though i've really noticed the difference in colours and when i saw them in the sunshine the other day i concluded they were similarly scratched. Good job i never threw away the blue as i did think about it, would much rather have badly scratched blue fitted than slightly scratched bronze, my plan is to get these scratches improved somehow when it goes into the shop.

would these fit a Zed?
Nothing wrong with using hebcentric spacers Dave if need be. You need less than 45, perhaps around the 30 mark, you'd be better spending some time by the sounds of it taking your front and rears off and seeing/measuring what you have now in relation to how they sit in the arch, clear your calipers, etc.

You do need help, haha.................45 ET is :nono:. Everything you put though is fine.

Yes good advice........remove all four even better - like to see them shift it then and if they attempt it make sure you capture it on film for us all to see .

A rare find ???
I picked up this as well, thought i had the spanners, etc, because i do have another bag, but it appears not - it does remind me of when my mum bought a brand new Nissan Sunny in the 80's, exactly the same kit was with that iirc. Please note the screwdriver is not i don't think Nissan, should the supplied one have 'NISSAN MOTOR' on like it has on the spanners, pliers ?

Trouble with pulling fuses it's not a visible deterrent for a low life, they'll just break in and then make a further mess trying to get it going....like whats just happened sadly. Not sure if you use daily but having a pod off exposing some wiring.............looking like your undertaking some work might make them leave it alone, the cluster cowl just lifts off for example (well two screws!). I have a flashing blue led for the immobilizer and a red one for the alarm - perhaps look into buying some dummies, just wire them in and position anywhere so they stay on 24/7.

Larger battery fitting, type, sizes, power, etc.
Varta have the common blue batteries, but call me anal - blue was never an option for my red engine bay, they also have black - admittedly this would be ok but the E38 100 type silver dynamic is what i have gone for.........this also happens to be the battery they recommend for highly equipped cars, my merc has a varta for instance and that battery in the boot is a monster and has never given me any concern in years. I got the one below for £65 locally, they can be bought on ebay i notice for £65.85 at the time of writing. I do like the 'low' dimension of these at 175mm height, btw 175mm wide with a length of 278mm which fits lovely again on my slightly adapted tray. Plenty of power 74ah with a massive 750 cranking amps, tested already of course and as you'd expect very lively. I've added my voltage display thingy, swapped about the varta sticker so it faced the correct way and added some of my own - trying to inject some red onto it. I also cut so i get the terminal covers on, positive side needs a shade more work as it vibrates a bit proud but i think these tidy things up a little. The top clamp has also changed colour to match better from red to dark grey, being this is a shorter battery i have to use threaded rod you may notice.

Yes waste of money in hindsight, took a chance and it didn't pay off..............sometimes things go that way, only £65 for the new Varta .

would these fit a Zed?
I'd be looking at 9.5J for the rears and putting a 265 width ultrac sessanta vredestein on it ;).

would these fit a Zed?
Dave you need to be wider than 8 inch on the rears really, don't limit yourself to re use the tyres, you can always get some pennies back on ebay.

Larger battery fitting, type, sizes, power, etc.
The ebay battery above has not lasted even 18 months, think when i recall don't think it has lasted a year, don't know if it's me or not (car not used much) but it just doesn't hold charge, i don't think for one minute therefore it's a Yausa battery. Yesterday for instance and of course i had to get the booster on it for it to go in the first place, after 15 mins of spirited driving i stopped and went into a shop, less than 5 mins later and it did crank but wearily, booster on yet again - no problem, started immediately. Then i drove again spiritedly for a good 20 mins, got home and thought i'd try it, pitiful it was - this battery is pants, do not buy this rubbish !!! I have looked/done my research, once bitten twice shy and i'm going to buy a silver varta 100 type E38, same dimensions as the above and hoping this quality brand and size, cca, etc, will be money well spent :).

What clutch? My one is slipping :(
I personally don't have a problem with my XTD, it holds my 500BHP without issue. I did see this though several days ago http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300zx-RPS-Street-Max-Clutch-/121921014447?hash=item1c630f0aaf:g:RY0AAOSwmmxW4smZ

Rear Lights Conundrum
Most basic way to test a stop/tail is to hold on a wire from the neg part of the battery against the bulbs metal base and then in turn touch on the positive to both the contacts on the bulbs bottom, both should light - one brighter (brake/stop) than the other (tail/sidelight).
-
Rear Lights Conundrum
Inside the bulb there are two filaments, you state the brakes are working - that's one of the two but could it be possible that all four sidelight part of the bulbs are blown ?

First cars
One of the cars that i totally longed for but for some reason i never owned was one of these below, a fiesta supersport. If one came up today i would find it incredibly hard to say no. Went to view one once but got there a touch too late and the guy 15 mins in font of me purchased and iirc he paid the full asking of £2400, this was probably in 1987.

First cars
At 17 i bought a friends 1.6S mk2 Capri, it was a deep blue with no decals and had a front spoiler added, it was a 1976 plated r reg. But it was my 2nd car that i truly adored, a mk3 2.0 Ghia in green....CCP 367V.....like the 1980 one below, i would only of been 18 at the time, so the car would of been in only it's 6th year.

Dog owners beware Kong toys
That is a lot per month. I've been faithful to direct line but their quote this year was something like £27 a month, which year on year was creeping up and up and i looked and the cover was not top drawer. I reluctantly looked about and plumped for something incredibly similar at £14 a month.

What did you do to your zed today?
Doubt they'll be too bright Paul, some of these drl's are very bright. Anyhow if it's an issue you need a resistor inline, this'll take off some lumens but i doubt you'll need.

Dog owners beware Kong toys
Dogs are certainly adept at destroying toys and you cannot i guess wrap them in cotton wool. But my advice is ALWAYS have pet insurance, something like £150 for cover per annum is a no brainer. Our GSD had a knee rebuilt at a cost of £2600 and Direct Line stumped up every penny to their credit.

Err..no sidelights..
Nothing wrong with connecting to the sidelight circuit, in fact that is where mine splices, it just means the fog can only come on when you've got your sidelights on. There are alternatives, ignition live, low beam, etc, but why ?
-
Err..no sidelights..
I'm afraid it's shouting out fuse to me still Greg........you state all appear fine but it should just be the middle 10amp on the top row as Jeff as said. Other than that it's a puzzler :confused1:.
