  1. I have fit into the car and i'm well chuffed with them, i cannot tell anyone to get the same exact bulbs as they are not a straight fit. The left pod is missing as overnight it is having a slight repair to its rear.
  2. Yep Richie just grind right through them, obviously leave enough, i just held them on the wheel on the bench grinder and they trimmed down a treat.
  3. Personally mine are series 4 but as far as i am aware all through the years all clocks have 4 x 501/T10 wedge type bulbs for the illumination of the dials/needles, 1 x 501/T10 is for the illumination of the low fuel symbol. All were originally clear filament bulbs with coloured rubber johnnies on, these are shown on the first pic - the 2 on the left. In this pic we also see some of the different types, some are clearly way too long, there are literally hundreds to choose from, all of these were bought on ebay from the far east. The most recent i bought are the red boarded smd ones, it was in the back of my mind that they may be a bit long, lets not forget these clocks were designed with only short stumpy filament bulbs in mind but things have moved on. Here you see one fitted, please note the 2 x clear plastic diffusers that surround it, not this particular position but on at least two others the bulb fouled on them, too long you see, so all i did was either take a bit on the contact side off and/or take a bit off the diffuser itself with a small grinder on my rotary tool. You want really a 501 bulb that offers 360 degree of light, the one 5th from the left does not offer this and these were fit until recently and in one of the four bulb positions i used the bulb 3rd from the left. If iirc 3 of the bulb positions have at least 2 diffusers that the light 'hits', in one position though - the very end on the right....just the one, the one where i used the 3rd from the left bulb. I am lucky as i have, with tails, all the multi plugs so i can test like below and play about :). I did get as you'd imagine finger marks on the dials, i just fingered on/gently rubbed some glass cleaner and these disappeared and/or evaporated away. All done and these to me seem brighter, again my camera is picking out the bright spots but to the human eye these are crisp, even and white. Of course it's up to you as you may desire red or blue bulbs but personally atm i'm happy with white. One of the main things i take note on pictures of other peoples clocks, are how poorly lit the needles are but i seem to have all these uniformly illuminated, i will fit to the car and update further.
  4. I painted only part of the moustache a month or so ago, the area just around the fog light and indicator....it didn't look too bad but decided to fill it all in today. Done in the same dark grey colour as my headlight inserts, i also think my NISSAN badge shows up better against it and this i freshened up with coat of chrome spray . I have some more series 2 indicators on order and these i will slightly tint, the ones on are mint and i don't wish to spoil these.
  5. Yep, right with you on that one Si :). Only the one i viewed as well.
  6. Another vote for TyreLeader from me, used them last year for all four..............great service, range and price :).
  7. Nice that, is there a new Star Wars film in the offing then .
  8. I'm so glad you didn't upload a pic to go with that post :sweatdrop:.
  9. Good luck with that Ian, it certainly sounds like you kneed the op :p.
  10. As long as the indicator tint is not too dark they should match well, the fog lights never seem to be as 'bright' or 'chromey' looking.
  11. Couldn't of put it better myself - although a choice word of two would of been inserted :taz:.
  12. Blimey Lee you have a result there, just need someone myself :), who i'll state is a lorry driver of eastern origin and whom i don't know :shifty:, to go down the side of mine when i had to pull over because i have a.......aheeerm..........engine problem . Very pleased how it's all turned out for you :thumbup1:.
  13. And have you got the 25mm spacers on the front as it looks pretty much perfect ?
  14. Suggest you get reading and maybe get a measure out, good luck but don't risk it next time - it just gives you loads of hassle. And as for just pay it and shut up...methinks this is what many do and the council, authority, whatever know it. http://www.rmbconsulting.co.uk/Making_a_challenge.html
  15. I have had dealings with Greg, Funky one pointed him my way, he wanted an oe invertor for the altia rear garnish, needless to say it needed to be in A1 condition !! I never knew there was an optional mirror fold module, i had to get an aftermarket one some years ago, works the same way ie folds out when the key is turned but mine can be folded in with the remote fob which at the same time lifts the windows, if they're down that is :).
  16. Ok, Lee is your man but iirc i thought he said a few year ago they wouldn't go on :), sure he'll clarify further.
  17. I have seen series 3 cars fitted with the later series plenum/engine, either it's factory or been swapped out. Visibly you know for sure you have now the early 89 plenum ?
  18. Not personally being on facebook - look what i am missing out on :surrender:.
  19. My daughters last name is not the same as mine, i'm the last in a long line of phutumsches, i would of found out long since if she'd of got it chum ;).
  20. This is my daughters day job although your claim as not landed on her desk but i wouldn't be able to tell you if it had , as you'd expect there is work to be done so just be patient.
  21. Have a good day Jeff .
  22. Happy 50th :cool3:.
  23. An automobile that has been equipped with gawdy, unnesecary accessories, such as 3' high spoilers, loud and/or repulsive paint job and body work. Owners of such automobiles feel that these accessories make their car the best in the world, when in fact it is not. Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancements. (R.I.C.E.)Parts put on cars to make them look fast, when they have no internal tuning, and are actually slow as hell. Parts usually consist of excessivley angular bodykits, large rear spoilers, neon, sponsor stickers, chrome rims, fake "coffee can" exhaust tips, and loud, annoying paint jobs and/or vynils. Sometimes parts are do-it-yourself installed and are basically duct taped to the car. Most commonly known for being done to Honda Civics, but can also be done to slow domestic vehicles, such as a Chevy Cavalier, etc.
  24. I've seen them before Gaz but eh thanks for the heads up :hurl:.
  25. I've put halos in front of the projector housing before on the 89 headlight inserts but i'm in the middle of doing some a little different, the ultimate goal is making them as NOT aftermarket looking as is possible slash stealth like . All going well so far and when these are 'hidden' under the glass they will.........not should..........look sweet.
