  1. With a sanding disc I took out all the casting marks, etc, then polished it and went up to a 2500 paper but for powder coating which it as had, going to 400 grit is more than enough. Took a while but working on a spare is the way to go, if I was to do it again I would do it no different, incredibly happy with it and it's zero maintenance.
  2. Another 18 red M6 cup washers gone on today :cool3:.
  3. I'm doing some slightly tinted 99 copied ones atm Graham for someone, the same might well suit you. I'll be posting pics of them perhaps at the weekend
  4. If you're not happy Graham with the rear end, ditch her and get yourself a pert twenty something .
  5. Haha...that must be what this is for then, bet you want to keep and fit now don't cha .
  6. Afraid they are not on it, it's not heating me up though having the 'wrong' ones fit, haha !!
  7. The bit in red.......of course and I like the sound of that last line but it will be at cost :cool3:.
  8. I visited a scrap yard today expecting it to be a LWB and to my surprise it was a shorty targa, that matters not with tail lights I am well aware. It's always best to examine them first hand as pictures can be misleading, I negotiated a price and began my work. As soon as I removed the twisty bolts on the boot panel I noticed the original Altia inverter ! Anyway, still with my poker face carefully I removed all 3 pieces, got a few more bits off the old girl that were very tidy, I plan going back as I was not blessed with much time. Got home and plugged it in - happy days, not sure what I'm going to do with the 26 year old item :cool3:.
  9. The first part on an 89 insert looks retrofit and something i will not fit again, fitting at the back of the dipped opening on the 99 is as factory look as you're gonna get. Suggest you check out some of my threads :thumbup1:.
  10. I'm not a big rugby fan but England it must be said were very very poor, if they played 10 times the Australians would win all of them, no complaints and congrats to them. It reminded me of watching the English football team, flatter to deceive and when it comes to the crunch not a prayer of a chance of beating the top teams when it matters most. Back to the drawing board once more sadly .
  11. £60 a corner. £20 to remove the 4 x tires. £30 to refit, balance, new valves, etc. I fit to the car myself.
  12. I think that's why I had the problem in the first place, this finish is longer lasting and more durable .
  13. Looks like something is running again but it runs out I presume at midnight tonight. Code is SUKXO7PYSY9Q You've to spend a minimum of £75 and you'll get 10% off.
  14. Nice work.....but now when you brake the r/h indicator flashes :whistling:.
  15. I know what that's called..............clear lacquer :tt2:.
  16. A better job than Mercedes ever did and the colour is a wonderful match to the factory colour. I have had some engine bay work done and I chose their chrome powder colour but I like this silver sparkle very much. New centre caps fitted and a silver dust cap. Easy to keep clean as well this finish, basically soap and water - very happy :thumbup1:.
  17. It must be a common fault with these Mercedes wheels, after a few years they look terrible. I was lucky enough to borrow these wheels just so I had something to use just for drive shuffling, that was better than bricks but my wheels that came off were just the same . The lacquer peels off and this is what results, even the centre caps have aged badly. And inside, mainly brake dust/dirt. They've been at the powder coaters a week, this now the inside - beautiful. Now I know these are not Z related but wheels are wheels and I'm trying to show what can be done.
  18. Don't know if this appeals Brian, need to check but think it's still in dry storage, he'll never finish it lets face it. Think you'll get it for 1K at the very most for a bit of old school fun . http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?178126-Porsche-944-1985-White-Simon-Le-Bon-s-Old-Car-!!&highlight=
  19. Nice one, no Messi though which is a shame. I went to an empty Nou Camp when I was on holiday with my parents probably around 1982, it was impressive to say the least :thumbup1:.
  20. 17 x M8 red cup washers arrived today, so fit on the coil pack brackets and on the throttle body bolts . Then I hid some of them under the strut brace, haha.
  21. Surely that's good news.......innit, hehe :devil2::devil2:.
  22. I have not been informed that they've been fitted yet, I'd love to see them on the car as well. My customer supplied those 99 inserts which were top quality, he also paid a lot of money getting them chromed which again was a first class job. Halos were not fitted on this remit, they'd of been a different white colour anyway and wouldn't of matched. They belong to the guy in post 6, btw.
  23. Drive it up there Russ early part of next week and he'll do it :scooter:.
