  1. These indicators in the first pic are pretty much mint but ever so chromy, should that be a bad thing. Rather than open up those, i acquired another set not just as mint which i thought i would play about with and so today i tinted them a little .
  2. And mine, they can just fail :(.
  3. Besides from most of that and others in this thread making me chortle....i did wonder though Russ, could there be a possibility you and Birdy were separated at birth :nana2:
  4. Lots of likes guys thank you.......................oh go on then another pic !!!!! Just before the glass went on. Sprayed the inserts black gloss/lacquered btw but kept the projector bezel the stock grey colour. I must say these need seeing in real life, unlit and lit they are truly gorgeous, one is very proud, haha ;).
  5. They are fit now and i am happy with brightness, look and the colour, all my indication matches pretty much perfectly all around. Just on with these atm, yes there is an halo fitted.....no not by NISSAN in the factory.....by me in my humble garage !!!
  6. I did the mirror backs a few weeks ago in the same dark grey as the headlight inserts, moustache and some parts in the engine bay but felt it didn't match so well further back on the car, so they are now black. I also fixed the r/h one - it needed a little push to close but would open fine, it now works 100% of the time in or out......i swapped and did a bit of soldering on a motor from another i had. Also made sure/tested both heated glasses got nice and warm. I have done my spare wing indicators in the exact same, colour, brightness, etc, 4 x leds in each as my new ones i have now in the tail lights, just left tightly clamped up overnight for fitting tomorrow. Once i receive something in the post i will be doing something similar with the red rear side marker lights but these will have a special feature and a very basic short loom was made today in anticipation .
  7. What like this you mean :), be very surprised you ever get rear ended !!
  8. Something like 35 for the rears and 30 for the fronts is what i always aim for :thumbup1:.
  9. Happy birthday :thumbup1:.
  10. Looks like today phutumsch as put on his genuine 99 tails for just a few days :). Whilst he does something different still with his double clear ones ;).
  11. For the last 2 or 3 years i have only ever used the 99 octane Momentum from Tescos, i make a bee line for it, it just makes me feel a bit better. Yes it's more money but for 1500 miles a year it aint gonna break the bank, the 3 years before it was the 95's from mainly Morrissons - never noticed any difference at all whatever octane i use.
  12. They'll be a 21w bulb behind there, same as the stock reverse lights......so yes it will kinda light up the road :thumbup1:.
  13. That position yes but they only come on when you independently signal that side, usually that position on a 89 spec lens as a drilled out 501 bulb and holder so it won't really light up the road like Lee said............think he'd had a long journey !!!
  14. They aren't to dissimilar to the modern switchback systems we see :thumbup1:.
  15. Somebody might of fiddled about Lee in the front corner and i think it could have a different indicator stalk assy to enable it all to work , one wire in the corner becomes live when you have the dipped on, so of course this goes to the bulb and shares a ground with the indicator bulb.
  16. Kerb lights Lee ? If so then yes I have them in my S2 indicators
  17. I feel i owe this thread a far better pic, the video i have done is truly awful and both on that and the earlier pic i think the battery voltage was not what it should of been. So after briefly charging i started the car up and i hope this below is better, these white bulbs are bright, bet your odometer read is not as well lit but i'll be honest i have got out some (run of the mill) red and blue bulbs to maybe fit, whether i find them bright enough.......not sure but as suggested and i am well aware one of these colours will match better my colour scheme .
  18. I touched on this with you and said one had blown so i replaced like for like. They are H1 and HID's are no good here as they are not instant, stock is fine albeit 'yellow' in comparison to the dipped HID, you might want to get yourself some, nightbreaker, xenon, diamond or whatever they are advertised as.
  19. Many UK sellers have them now on ebay for less than £20, take your pick but here's the cheapest, you want H3 type bulbs, 55w power with colour between 4300k and 6000k, personally i always go for 5000k. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301829412638?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&var=600638289933&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Don't forget though, are your adjusters all sound ? Ok if they're broken but in the right position !!!
  20. Even though i re did my mirror indicators only recently, i had been thinking for sometime on going back to stock and couple that with some lazy leds i noticed yesterday (two were not fully extinguishing), enough was enough they're going as i also have a masterplan which doesn't require mirror signals. So with a view to the change over today, yesterday i quickly sanded and sprayed up and lacquered some of my many 'backs' i have. With also a view to a full respray next year, i am testing a few things out and with the moustache and headlights done in a dark grey i thought what the heck i would do the mirrors the exact same . I actually quite like them, i did notice the neighbours BMW is a white car but the mirrors are black. I will give it some more thought but my next move might be to do the same with the triangular base plate and/or all of it but we'll see :).
  21. This video does not paint the clocks in a true light really, however it does show that these recently fit bulbs are brighter than the ones fit before as i thought it was marginal and i was doubting myself but you can clearly see the difference on this video. Video taken down by me............it wasn't very good as my car battery was dying which didn't help, please see the pic further down, thank you.
  22. I don't know how you can sleep at night, haha .
  23. I bought some silicone refills for my PIAA wipers that were on the car when i got it 6 years ago but i wasn't happy when i came to fiddle and fit, so i re read this thread again and bought 3 from the far east. Only £10.08 for 3 x 20 inch delivered and i love them, should of done it ages ago :). Fyi mine came with the hook connector on 'wrong' but it flicks out easy enough for a 180 turn. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130871435361?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT This was before After The rear, i'm forever flicking the switch for this
  24. Two things done yesterday, the previous owner drilled and put the immobilizer blue led on the top of the light pod back, i wasn't altogether unhappy with this but after acquiring a mint one and having the clocks out i thought i would fit. The blue led is now just offered through under the cowl as you see, same as the infrared remote sensor for the front halos, looking at it again i think i'll move both into that gab where the pod back and the cowl meet. Same with cig lighter, not sure that it was ever lit correctly and it was always loose, it would rise up when a charger was pulled out , also there was too much wiring underneath and this would foul on the console and hence not seating totally perfectly. All wiring tidied therefore, cig lighter diffuser spotlessly washed clean, bright white T5 smd bulbs fitted in this and for the ashtray which is actually much brighter than the pic is showing, also i affixed very firmly from underneath the mirror control switch.
  25. It takes only 10 mins to get the clocks out and nothing i do on my car is ever long term, sure i've thought about matching blue or red and in the future no doubt i'll acquire some and see how it looks but these white ones are actually quite bright and they do actually match but that is maybe not coming across on the pic.
