JaiKai Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Just bought my new zed and it has these, kinda cool and a big surprise when they came on :) When they do it they light up the full lane next to me. Anyone else got these and are they legal as they are very bright. Quote
phutumsch Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Kerb lights Lee ? If so then yes I have them in my S2 indicators  Quote
JaiKai Posted December 22, 2015 Author Posted December 22, 2015 Ah, is that what Kirb lights are. Its weird but my last series 4 zed never had them; was it an option ? Kerb lights Lee ? If so then yes I have them in my S2 indicators  Quote
phutumsch Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Somebody might of fiddled about Lee in the front corner and i think it could have a different indicator stalk assy to enable it all to work , one wire in the corner becomes live when you have the dipped on, so of course this goes to the bulb and shares a ground with the indicator bulb. JaiKai Posted December 22, 2015 Author Posted December 22, 2015 really, I've owned about 5 zeds now and this is the first. Standard on on Jspec Quote
phutumsch Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 They aren't to dissimilar to the modern switchback systems we see :thumbup1:. Quote
TonyB Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 really, I've owned about 5 zeds now and this is the first. That's what Jeff told me anyway But they not usually bright enough to light up the next lane Are you sure it's in the indicator and not a fog light ? Quote
JaiKai Posted December 22, 2015 Author Posted December 22, 2015 I'll check it shortly as haven't actually looked. But it comes on with the indicators and its direction is pointing to the side rather than front. That's what Jeff told me anyway But they not usually bright enough to light up the next lane Are you sure it's in the indicator and not a fog light ? Quote
Gaz 300 Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Most Jap spec Z's have them and they are on my swb. When you put your indicators on (at night when your lights are on)the kerb light will go on that side to help illuminate that corner of the road. New cars are only catching up with the 300zx technology now with lights that move when you turn the steering wheel which is a more updated version of the simple kerb lights. :) Quote
phutumsch Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 That position yes but they only come on when you independently signal that side, usually that position on a 89 spec lens as a drilled out 501 bulb and holder so it won't really light up the road like Lee said............think he'd had a long journey !!! Quote
coopd Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 ah right... these are not the 89 spec lights on mine with the drilled out bit... I got them off Ian earlier in the year and they have a proper bulb holder. Not sure what spec they are but they match the lines on the fogs Quote
JaiKai Posted December 22, 2015 Author Posted December 22, 2015 First glance the bulb in my lights seem elongated but that could just be the reflection. They do seem brighter than normal. Quote
Gaz 300 Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 That's them Lee they only come on the side you are indicating as for the brightness its hard to tell in the pics but they look right. Quote
Richie K Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Yeah Lee, they're on my car also, Indicator kerb lights:thumbup1: Quote
phutumsch Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 They'll be a 21w bulb behind there, same as the stock reverse lights......so yes it will kinda light up the road :thumbup1:. Quote
