  1. Thanks for the update Paul on JAE. Sorry to read that you are having more problems with your Zed. If it is an injector failure your cylinder will be OK as it will still have been oil lubricated as normal. For me JAE ran its course many years ago - too many rice rockets and poor behaviour spoiled the show. British weather is unpredictable at best but even blazing sunshine won't make a poor show a winner. JAE has become underwhelming and frankly overpriced. We have a great show here in the south at Simply Japanese at Beaulieu - an event I will make every effort to attend. Superb location and facilities, good organisation by Beaulieu and our REO's, well presented cars from all the Japanese marques and appreciative and polite crowds. All in all a lovely way to spend a day. If we had other public shows that were in the same vein as SJ (other than our annual AGM Club get together currently at Coventry) I would drive the length of the land to attend.
  2. Welcome to the Club Jay!
  3. I mounted each ballast in the space left under L&R headlight buckets after the OEM air filter ducts were removed. Out of the way of engine heat and dry. The arrow points to the area (photo is not mine). Personally I would avoid chinese made ballasts. The experience Jim Selin found in tracking down the problem with early Selin dual Maf translators and HIDs would put me off using them whether or not you had one of his translators. "All of the Chinese sourced ballasts I was able to test sent voltage spikes into the cars electrical system as high as 300 volts (!!!) This is also repeatedly hitting every other computer in your system." - Jim Selin http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2579166/Hey-Greg-sorry-I-hadnt-replied-to-your-email-yet.html and his original diagnosis and observations: http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2498793/OFFICIAL-UPDATE-Heres-where-things-are-as-of-today.html
  4. My stock (original and unmodified) turbos are also still doing very nicely and have been running 1 bar max for over 16 years. I have a pair of nearly new JWT 530BBs on standby.
  5. For the black rubber piping I've just washed in soapy water and dried. For the metal piping Autoglym engine cleaner and then polish.
  6. You talking about the aluminium manifold or the black IC piping?
  7. Yes, it does rather.
  8. Did you find the information I sent you useful?
  9. Thank you Ash and best wishes in your new role!
  10. I feel more relaxed just looking at your photos, thanks for sharing. Grand Marnier? I had you as more a cask strength malt whisky type - Slàinte!
  11. The Japanese tuning shop JUN Auto entered the USA Bonneville Speed Trials in 1991 with the JUN-Blitz 300ZX in the E/BMS class. JUN ran a record 260.876 mph becoming world champions and setting a record that still remains unbroken. 13. If you PM me the number I will put it into FAST and see what comes out.
  14. I must have missed something...
  15. How is it the original (from the factory)?
  16. But that's not a correctly formed VIN number for Z32s.
  17. Can you point out where in this thread the VIN number is?
  18. Link has a list of the parts used in the car when Stuart put it up for sale in Oct 2008: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?117501-Silver-Streak-Moddified-2-2-90-TT
  19. Welcome to the Club and good luck with your new project. BTW the mirrors you are watching have been resprayed and may not be the "silver" of your car (if that matters to you). The OEM connectors for the wiring looms are missing.
  20. Welcome back stranger - glad too read that you haven't lost the faith!
