Mondo Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Has anyone got any recommendations for cleaning the OEM intake pipes...? I'd like to get them looking nice and fresh again and don't want to inadvertently use something that will degrade the material! Si and Joel, I'm sure you guys have some tips... ;) Quote
AndrewG Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 You talking about the aluminium manifold or the black IC piping? Quote She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.
Iangreenfield Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 I use gunk degreaser and a brush then wash off Quote

AndrewG Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 The black piping For the black rubber piping I've just washed in soapy water and dried. For the metal piping Autoglym engine cleaner and then polish. Quote She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.
dutchgold92 Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Would MAF cleaner be a good idea for the insides or is that overkill? Quote
Joely P Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Yes I always used soapy water on the rubber hoses. Although I replaced my intake hoses for silicon due to cracking at the ends from removal/installation. I removed the insulation sleeves from the stock hoses and slid them over my Z1 intake hoses. Still looks stock but nice and supple and shouldn't harden with age. Quote
Mondo Posted September 9, 2016 Author Posted September 9, 2016 I may just buy some new ones from Z1 yet. We'll see.... Quote
