The job i'm applying for is driving me nuts!
the agency will be the main reason you're having a tough time - they'll want to make sure that you're definitley right for the job as they'll have to pay (at least a percentage of) the agency's placement fee regardless. We've taken on a few people - graphic designers & salespeople mainly - through agencies and they're a massive pain in the arse!! Don't take it personally!

Any one have over 150,000 miles?

disposing of a body
i've always thought the best way to get rid of someone would be to get pissed up, go out in your car, find them and run them over... banned for a few years & you;d do minimum time in jail - probably be out on licence in under 3 years
-
Oh No
that's the problem - very poor protection from water! see Andy's post above and see if it'll turn by hand - easier to give advice then!

disposing of a body
guy in the 60's used acid - all that was left was teeth - which were what got him sent down several years later! Jsut don't use a plastic bath!

disposing of a body
a few years back, a retired copper near us chopped up his wife, froze her, then defrosted her bit by bit and fed her to the cats & dogs - although, as is obvious from the fact i'm relaying the story, he got caught!! guess it's easier than pigs though!! i'm not going to tell you my body disposal plan though in case i need it one day - it really is that good!!! haha.

This countrys justice system stinks
Sorry, but if someone mugged me with a knife while i was holding a bottle i'd do a lot more than cut their throat with it! That said, I'd put money on the fact that the english lads were far from innocent...

Does anyone on here have a porter cable orbital buffer?
DTA's apparently supplying P-C stuff, but I understood that the polisher wasn't e-marked and couldn't be sold here. Are you ordering from Autopia?? Keep meaning to order one, but I've got a memory like a sieve!! Rich

fitting race harness - 2+2
Simple question - best to fit 3 point & make new rear mountings or 4 point and use existing lap-belt mounts? I was going to go with a 3 point, but a 4 point will be easier if the existing mounts are suitable (suitable as in is the angle of the innermost any good for harness). Oh, and i'm not putting the rear seats back in! Cheers Rich

Hazard light relocation
take the pod apart and you'll see that the hazard switch mounting points locate into a threaded section of plastic (awful design) so when it snaps, the switch doesn't locate perfectly anymore... i fixed mine with a length of threaded bar and some nuts to hold the switch correctly - open it up, it's easy to see what's wrong. hth Rich

Hazard light relocation
you need to have a look at a wiring diagram - it's not just a simple on-off switch... you might not have the button, but you will have the control unit inside the pod connected. I tried to do just what you're saying & ended up with very strange outcomes - closest i got was I could only indicate right, but if I put the hazards on while indicating the bulbs just went on constant (i think that's what i got!) Anyway, gave up and fixed the broken casing inside the pod!
-
Are they joking
step away from the dealer!!! Speak to smithy or possibly MJP in trader's section - import bulb is different & a UK bulb won't fit without a little modification! They'll probably just scratch their arse, then tell you it'll fit and make up some lame excuse when it doesn't!

dvla car tax inspectors Cheltenham
I think it's hilarious - if you avoid paying income tax your business should be closed down imeediately? If you buy a computer for home and run the vat through work your computer should be crushed? If you buy duty free booze it should be destroyed? No - but as soon as taxation is linked to a car it's the worst thingin the world not to pay it?? Having no tax may be a hint that you have no insurance or mot, but it's hardly a hard & fast rule!! More to the point, the insurance database tells the police within seconds whether a car's insured or not. As said above, it seems eveyone's been brainwashed to accept all tax related to cars.

Smoke
think you need to say whether it's smoke or steam - if it lingers it's smoke and points to the turbo seals, if it's steam it's water coming through. Do a search and there's loads of info/ causes...

Head unit removal?
it's just got some (4 i think) panel clips behind it - give it a good tug, but try and pull it out at the same sort of angle it sits at if you see what i mean - i.e. don't pull the top forward as it'll twist the clips... i know! Rich

VGA splitter problem
Your laptop should have an option to leave the screen on or off - it's quite often one of the function keys (i.e. hold down fn key and, say, F8) - basically so you can turn off the screen for presentations etc... Good luck!

Awesome day
First trackday in the zed last friday and had a brilliant time!! Went to Oulton Park, and was pretty nervous as it was the first time the car had been 'driven in anger' for about 2 years, and i've only just put it back together after doing cambelt and rest of 60k service as well as upgrading to GTR brakes. After bedding in the new brakes, I went back in to check eveything was ok and, amazingly, it was!! After that went out and went crazy!! Feeling a bit over-confident in the afternoon I managed a couple of spins, the second firing me through the tyre wall!! Luckily not much damage, but a damaged steering rack was identified as the culprit as (obviously) my driving was impecable! :D After losing interest in the car in the last year, it's now well and truly rekindled and I'm getting some seats and harnesses to go in it for next time and will keep upgrading it as i go. Seriously considering a roll cage too - when i spun off lodge, after watching the video back, I saw just how close i was to rolling it... So anyone considering a trackday - do it!! Just make sure your car's in good shape and go have some fun. It may be a bit wallowy on standard suspension but you definitely won't get embarassed by anything - loads of people came to the garage and commented how well it was going. P.S. UPGRADE TO BETTER BRAKES BEFORE YOU DO IT!! GTRs ARE GOOD BUT EVEN THEY WEREN'T IMPOSSIBLE TO OVERHEAT - DREAD TO THINK WHAT STANDARDS WOULD HAVE BEEN LIKE! Rich
