  1. I bought some off RS2000 (i think it was!) on ebay...
  2. think it's a nice idea, but not sure it's that wise to put (potentially) libellous threads nicely collected together - especially when it is one-sided and there's no right to reply. Rich
  3. i'd have taken about their car (and them if they were stupid enough to come forward) with the casco which is inexplicably lodged under my seat!!!
  4. robin reliant - they're a bitch to drive... really easy to get on 2 wheels, not so easy to recover!! Good thing is, they're fibreglass and eaasy to repair!!! You also shouldn't drive with your thumbs inside the steering wheel, cos if you have a blow out the wheel moves so violently it can break your thumb!! My grandad had one years ago, and when you work on it, you can literally roll it on its side (onto an air jack or something soft!) and then flick it back up when your done! kinda retro-cool but dont think many would have the balls to drive a modded one!! Rich
  5. supposed to be counter balance for the rear wiper motor!! bin it!
  6. course you'll get off with it as you "were forced to swerve to avoid a collision with a car which suddenly stopped without indicating" - no way in a million years they'll go to court with that one.
  7. nope - but i'm hoping to be back n the road before the end of the month!!!
  8. i see... just remember reading that Nissan UK were stocking them without the restrictors, can't remember where though!! I had assumed they were just emissions, but I was just guessing too! :D
  9. essential for what?? as far as I'm aware they seem to have been used pretty inconsistently - does anyone know the effect on performance/ emmissions or is eveyone guessing?? Rich
  10. agree with mark - the plate only has to comply with the laws AT THE TIME IT WAS MADE. i.e. now it must have the manufacturers details at the bottom. Rich
  11. is this the infamous typo-spotter using the wrong spelling of HERE?!?! :hyper: ;)
  12. To be honest, I used a copy of it (alcante i think it was called!)... basically so if I ****ed it up I could try again without too much expense! The fake stuff was just under £20/ metre mark, but is stain resistant and can be cleaned with upholstery fluids so it is better than the £2/ metre suede you see. Alcantara is £££££ and very difficult to get hold of in small amounts, although some boat upholstery places seem to stock it. Rich
  13. it's not too bad - main problems are the stitching on the door curves and the curved panels in the back are a bit of a pain to get right - but alcantara does 'stretch' a lot more than you (or at least i) think!!!
  14. IMHO, your just asking for trouble putting shite tyres on... even on a standard car - if you can't afford the tyres, hold off on the modding until you can! Rich
  15. may as well invest a few hours stripping it down before making the decision... You might be surprised at how little damage has been done.
  16. If you have a valid reason for asking, the DVLA will check the details...
  17. To the best of my knowledge, no internet forum (in the UK at least) has been sued - both the cases you cited were where the forum were forced to provide details of the users - but damages were claimed against the poster, not the forum.
  18. Oil leaks... welcome to zed ownership!!! If you can get it over a pit or ramps you may be able to spot where it's coming from (although it'll be more difficult than you think!!). Rear seal is a possible culprit, although it really could be coming from anywhere - and I mean anywhere as you'll be amazed at how far oil can travel when it's leaking... took me several weekends to find a leak on mine!! good luck! Rich edit: not sure on garages around northampton... have a look in traders section and see if any are within travelling distance (definitely best to travel a bit further than take it somewhere local and end up not seeing it for months on end... which does happen!!)
  19. tappin prolly lifters... try changing the oil see if that helps - do a search on oil and you'll get to see the masses and masses of different opinions about what's best!! Rattling is possibly a loose cat heat shield - best to get under it and have a look though! BOVs/ recircs... down to you! If you like the noise, then get BOVs, ither than that, the only reason you need them is to cure goosehonk (constant honking noise at certain rpm)... really down to individual preference. hth Rich
  20. yeah, the video was just lyng around, don't know where it came from!!! :p Guess I'll bite the bullet and spend some cash!! Cheers for the link!
  21. Morning all! Thought I'd try the 'fountain of knowledge' here before trawling the internet!! I'm going to mount my flatscreen on the wall, and channel power and a scart lead in the wall (only need one scart as I've got a scart switch). Bought a cheapo scart (10m) and there's too much interference on it... and this is direct to tv, so it's not the scart switch causing it. Strange thing is, it's worse from the sky box than the video or DVD. Anyhow, anyone know where I can get higher-quality, shielded etc etc long (prob get away with 7/8m I guess) from?? or what type of cable I can buy to solder one up?!? Cheerz! Rich
  22. is that for definite? I was under the impression that you could only do a certain %age... sure someone had to have a respray after being prosecuted for it!
  23. I definitely try and adjust it on the pots, before you risk breaking it when you try to take off and put the needle back on!! IIRC, Lymon posted a link to how to put the needle back on without damaging it... good luck!
  24. and forget about getting it looked at by AA/ RAC etc - they haven't got a clue! And if they've told you they'll look at the turbos, they're lying!
