test results are in!
nice one dude! On a more serious note, can they test if other things have been passed on?? The reason I ask is your reputation for eating precedes you, and baby's are expensive at the best of times

Vehicle Inspections
you're not going to get a professional inspection of any value on it as: 1. it's too old 2. it's too specialised i.e. you're not going to get a warranty from any inspection you have on it. Your best bet is to use the buyer's guide above, and if you can a member from here to come and have a look with you - as they'll have a better 'gut feeling' about the performance/ handling etc than you. hth Rich

Restoring Paintwork
cheers guys - will look for some Farecla G3 then... the paint's far from being pink, just got some swirl marks in it, and a couple of blemishes - all in all seems pretty well looked after, I'd just like to try and make it a bit better!

HID kit Question
Agreed - could just imagine people beginning to panic that there money's been wasted! I'd imagine the majority of people are pulled over because there's no load leveller on aftermarket lights so they're dazzling rather than the colour though.

personal info website
it's only a search engine guys - you can easily get this information (and more) from other websites... 192.com is a good starting point for tracing people. (I have to trace debtors for work) Rich

Dilema
it's definitley true that you only read the bad stuff on forums... not many people post in the help and advice section with "there's nothing wrong with my car, just felt left out that I couldn't ask for advice"!! Although there are some threads like that - an attempt to rectify the balance a little! The 300's like pretty much every other car - neglect it and it'll need fixing, difference being it's a performance car so you pay performance prices! It's not technically difficult to work on yourself, but the engine bay's absolutely crammed full so it is plain difficult to work on if you get my drift! The worst problem I've had was killing the standard clutch within a month of owning it - replacing was a PITA, but did it myself in a weekend. I think we all get little nocks and noises which we post about - but when you have them on your daily drive/ company car you don't give a shit! It's just because they're "Toys" (and because everyone's scared of turbos going) people get over - anxious about the smallest noise! Search for a good one, and 'bang for your buck' you'll struggle to do better! Good luck! Rich

Restoring Paintwork
Ok, I like to have the car looking smart and shiny and i personally use Mequiars which does a pretty good job. But, after 16 years of being cleaned, crapped on by birds, and more recently frequently covered in salt it's looking a little tired!! So, how do you go about flatting the paintwork and repolishing?? I'm not inerested in concours condition, and it's nowhere bad enough to need a respray, so recommended products & techniques please!! e.g. http://www.autopia-carcare.com/inf-perfect.html talks about detailing in a little more, erm, detail than "use the flash car wash system - it's great!" so this is the kind of thing I'm interested in!!
