  1. hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if it's a 90-96 spoiler (not sure iff 99s were foam also?!?) it will just crack again - gauranteed! I removed mine the other weekend, and you wouldn't believe how much water was in it!!
  2. Just to be on the safe side, it might be an idea to get a garage to confirm that the clutch has gone - there's a chance you'll be reported for driving on the hard shoulder as the M1 is completely monitored now! Rich
  3. would have thought MJP? If not, it should be pretty cheap even off a main stealer!!
  4. Take it you've got an import - it had no foglight as standard! Mine's been wired up the same as yours since I got it, and never had a problem, but guess it depends on the tester! It's possible you could argue the toss, but easiest way would be to sling a screw on fog light to the bottom of the buper and re-wire it... then take it off until next mot time!! Rich
  5. not done it myself, but http://300zx.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=506326&postcount=2 sounds very straightforward in comparison!!
  6. You can just byass the matrix for now and get the other bits sorted? Means you'll be able to enjoy the rest of the good weather and fix it over the winter... Rich
  7. i was under the impression that the regulation changes meant that a 1996 will be the last model year you will be able to import regardless???
  8. esva is for cars without type approval - which an import won't have if it was manufactured after the equivalent was discontinued in the UK (96). Then "you might have to pay more for independent tests if you do not have all the required information for your vehicle" comes in to play because, as far as the rules are concerned, a 97, 98 or 99 model never existed in the UK.
  9. to get a esva you need the model report... the inspectors can't look at it otherwise!
  10. This kind of thing (to me anyway) is a business venture - it's going too benefit only a fraction of the subscribed members, yet we'll be paying for (risking!) it. If it's such a sure-fire money maker, a) why hasn't someone done it, b) why don't you do it yourself - it would be a great part time business?!? I can't imagine you ever getting the numbers to make it worthwhile, when there's so many other imports which have greater demand. Rich
  11. he speaks the truth!! if it's penned on, it's probably aftermarket! best to see if it's socketed (standard one's soldered)... not sure i'd be running 18(?)+ PSI without knowing what internal mods had been done though!
  12. if not, why not ry one of the garages (who'll likely have one) which you could replace when your's arrives?!? Rich
  13. can be run with maf disconnected - ecu switches to limp home mode, so no damage will be caused... but this limits the revs to 2500 so it's unlikely to be the connectors. Not sure how mafs fil, but may be an idea to swap a good one in if someone's local to eiminate it?? Rich
  14. then wipe your dick on her curtains and leave! Too far...? maybe!
  15. fairlady is japanese name for 300zx. The Z32 ONLY came in non-turbo and twin-turbo; he is pulling up details for the Z31 which was a single turbo. he needs to find details for the 90-96 300zx/ fairlady (even though in japan it is officially 90-99, it still shows the same model years as uk) hth Rich
  16. do a search for insurance and you'll find some recommendations... there are a few companies that don't excessivley hike the premium for imports (although recently a few have stopped insuring them - particularly on classic policies) Rich
  17. Under english law, you cannot restrict your liability for certain things (e.g. negligence) through a contract - end of! But, you'd have to prove that they were negligent - and considering that their duty of care is towards standard vehicles their obvious defence would be that it was the modifications that allowed the damage to occur... If you can find any other (standard) cars that have been damaged then you might stand a better chance in small claims - so really depends on the cost of repairs. Remember though, it'll cost you £120 to file, and could take months to get your money. Oh, and for what it's worth, no sign in the car park can remove their legal obligations. Rich
  18. eh? There are differences in the spool up (auto's spool quicker, less top end) but chaging turbos won't affect the speed you reach... just stop hitting the limiter, put it in second and enjoy ;)
  19. sounds like your air flow meter's disconnected or failed... but can't remember if the failsafe works under no load or not?!? Limiting the revs to 2000 will be the ECU (assuming you mean EXACTLY 2000 rather than struggling if you see what I mean). Rich
  20.
  21. have a look at http://www.mib.org.uk for some info. hope it gets sorted Rich
  22. be noce to credit where it was lifted though ;) http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=Many%2C+many+people+confuse+wax+with+polish+and+the+2+perform+completely+different+functions+-+a+POLISH+is+in+short+an+abrasive%2C+which+will+either+1%29+remove+old%2C+%E2%80%9Cdead%E2%80%9D+paint%2C+revealing+fresh+paint+beneath+or+2%29+fill+in+scratches+and+swirl+marks%2Fholograms+using+a+combination+of+oils+and+chemicals+to+fill+the+scratch+and+also+to+round+off+the+edges%2C+muting+the+defect%E2%80%99s+appearance.&btnG=Google+Search&meta=
  23. fookin awesome!! will you post up the details of who did them if they're as good in the flesh please?!?!
  24. clock's are nearly all like that - but they are fixable!! do a search and there's instructions somewhere, or i believe AndyP fixes them for a small charge! Rich
  25. there's another post from Steve - they're being done in batches (when there's enough to order a batch of cards basically)... no need to start crying just yet ;)
