  1. bolt/ weld on your original subframes! Those seats are the ones they sell in makro for the same as his start price btw ;-)
  2. might be difficult... you could call round the traders and ask them to let you know if/ when they get a S2 in?
  3. definitley sounds like a scam - don't believe ebay offer an escrow service, in fact i'm sure of it!
  4. that pretty much sums up the ****in mentality of this country at the moment. Who cares if the police don't follow procedures, guidelines or the law, who cares if the officer hasn't been trained to use the equipment, it hasn't been calibrated since 1990 and the police have used unlawful methods to identify the driver... no, i own a car so I'll bend over and accept the punishment - after all the police in this country are the most respected in the world & never get it wrong!! yeah right.
  5. Well, yeah if the police know you're lying they'll go after you for wasting police time & purgery - guess you're talking about the guy who actually flew to europe and sent a postcard home from a ficticious friend who'd supposedly been driving at the time. But we're not really talking about falsifieing (sp.) evidence - the point is that one of the foundations of English law is the burden of proof is on the prosecution... If someone gets arrested for murder, say, you can't get sent to prison for not admitting you did it; the police have to put together evidence and present a case. If THEY can't PROVE you did it, either it never goes to court or you get found not guilty (in an ideal world!). Never ceases to amaze me how, where cars are involved, people just accept that the police follow the rules, and take the points/ fine without question! The general course of events is you'll get a series of letters informing you it is an offence to withhold information about who was driving etc etc - which is true. But if you "honestly" don't know who was driving, then there's no offence...
  6. no - that's the tack that the police will take... if you stick it out, a court cannot tell YOU to prove you weren't driving - and there's no balance of probabilities in a speeding case as it's not a civil matter . AFAIK the CPS have never taken a case that far in those circumstances.
  7. 16g with standard internals?? seems a strange way to spend your cash?? if you can't use the tubs to their maximum potential why not go for uprated internals on standard tubs... then when funds allow upgrade the turbos? just seems like approaching it from the wrong angle to me...
  8. you can remove the existing arial - the screen arial should be good enough for your FM (at least it is if it's fully functioning). Rich
  9. that is soooo wrong, but I laughed!!
  10. yeah - and if you type in the flight numbers in wingdings, you get an eery message that proves 911 was destined to happen! lmfao
  11. won't be MAF - you'll get a pretty good idle with it disconnected - just won't rev above 2k (ish). Are you sure the BOVs are plumbed correctly?? You haven't left a bung out have you?

All the best Si - I'm sure it won't be long before you're back on the drive tinkering! Rich
  13. why? the only part that needs a professional is the balancing - end of. If you're fitting them yourself, you can kiss goodbye to any guarantees anyway.
  14. assume they're right, but have you found someone willing to balance them for you?? Better off going with a new CHRA - DTA in Holland do them apparently, but not sure whether they do one with stagger-gap rings... MTL also did a write up about using the kit - he obviously found someone to balance them tubs after! Rich
  15. To be fair to the guy (who must have balls of steel for posting the thread in the first place, considering how much grief he's gnna get!) while the licence hting is a bit ott - alarm info is standard practice... if you're getting discount for a thatcham approved device, it's better for them to make sure it meets thatcham requriements - i.e. the fitter was qualified - than to refuse to pay out in the event your car was stolen because he wasn't! Rich
  16. and you reckon that the UK models which have FSH from main dealer are any different??
  17. Hi guys I'm not trying to get addresses for spamming - promise.... what i actually want to do is pull all the email addresses from a site which lists uk media contacts for the uk. I'v already grabbed the entire site with webgrabber, but now want to extract the emails... tried a couple of programs but they're limited to 100 contacts without purchasing - which i don't want to do as i only need to do it once... any ideas? Rich
  18. the law does allow it - it's just not worthwhile to get the appropriate type approvals as the demand (read profit) wouldn't be as high when you consider the popularity of shylins etc etc.
  19. i'd get your alignment checked dude!
  20. was it an independent test, or just the magazine with a rolling road?? Only reason I ask is that i work in publishing, and guarantee you that if imitation products came anywhere other than bottom in a product test we would lose our advertisers overnight. only playing devil's advocate... ;)
  21. No - you should REMOVE any adjustment at the lever first, then 'rough' adjust at the drum, then fine adjust at the lever - otherwise you'll be doing it all again in no time bacause the lever's almost at full adjstment when you've finished!!
  22. shit! like you said, everyone's ok that's the main thing - looking at the pics, it's a good job you were in a substantial car. glad you all walked away. RIch
  23. you will definitley be fine - I've driven mine in the same state, and as long as you keep the revs down you'll not got pulled!
  24. Oh, not sure about the different lengths though... my superdragger was the same length as standard... maybe it's because yours is SWB???
  25. it'll drive fine - won't even be as loud as you expect as the turbos take a lot of the noise out. Rich
