Sorry about the hijack ;) there's a few good books about on the ins and outs of turbos... have a scoot round amazon for a few. As for 400 bhp from a single turbo - why would you want to do it?? You'll easily get 400bhp from 2 (relatively inexpensive) turbos, with good spool characteristics compared to one larger and laggier turbo. then you've got the cost of custom pipework...

No, sorry, you don't add the pressures... each turbo runs at 15 psi and the whole system runs at 15psi. As for single turbo, it's much more complicated than that...

with the cheap flights that are knocking around at the moment, it's worth an overnight trip to the states with a large, empty suitcase!! (and take a gamble with customs!!)

I bought one of those a while back - saves much swearing!! Costco do them too if machine mart are out of stock... but machine mart occasionally have vat-free sales so you can save a few quid!

yep - mine has the unused connector too... the whooshing sound's probably coming from the gearstick... the rubber insulator comes loose and makes a whooshing noise (you'll probably find it changes according to what gear you're in?) and the space behind the radio will be acting like an amplifier making it sound like it's coming through the vents... remove the trim round the gearstick and push it back in - there's a lip round it which clips on - obvious when you see it. hth Rich

Yep - off a '99 SE Touring...

Well... after FunkySi's post about chrome door handles, I bit the bullet and got hold of some... 99% sure that they'll fit... see pics! Anyway, may be a spare set if anyone's interested (once I know they fit!) Rich

hazard switch definitely most likely cause - had same problem on mine as the plastic mounts had snapped so the switch couldn't quite return to the off position!

it's a no brainer - definitley replace in pairs!

only need H3 for dipped - don't need HIDS on your full beam - won't need them! Rich

I really can't see you being liable - when he bought the tax disk, he formed a contract with them and you were an un-related third party. They should have been dilligent enough to swipe his cheque guarantee card, or refused to issue the disk until it had cleared. Saying it's your responsibility is like saying if I buy a jacket from a shop with a cheque then sell it on ebay, then it's the buyer's responsibility to reimburse the shop! don't believe what they tell you because they're a government body... they're masters of deceipt! Ask them to inform you in writing that they have the legal right to cancel your tax disk, and to state what legislation gives them the right to do so.

yep - firefox here... i think it was only safari that i had problems with & explorer worked ok (possibly other way round!)... get firefox - it's much better than both of them!!

that's how I did it with my porterfields (on a track day) pretty hard use for 5 laps, cool down, then out for 5 hard laps, came in smokin & with bad brake fade, shit myself, cool down, back out and they were superb and never faded for the rest of the day! Rich

a certain trader on zclub does new not recon calipers on zclub... good price too!

i did it with a guide I found somewhere... probably the smae one you've got. TBH, the only difficult bit is getting the vacuum tube and wires through the bulkhead... it's an absolute twat!!! I got them in through a hole up in the passenger footwell but shredded my hands in the process... think it was just below the battery tray if i remember right. It's really straight forward other than that tho... good luck!!! Rich
