  1. hmmmmm... I might just keep it as a decorative piece of modern art in that case!!
  2. Had a trawl through old posts, and can't turn up much about running in an engine following rebuild... discussed briefly here: running in but no definitive answers... so: How many revs for how many miles? What oil/ frequency of change? Revving without load good to bed rings? any other useful info?? If we can keep it to proven methods it's be good, and could probably make a good FAQ. Rich
  3. Yep - they fitted! Will check tonight for ya...
  4. rings a bell here too - I'm sure i got a set delivered marked up as imprezza & queried them... can try and dig out the invoice tonight if it helps... Rich
  5. It's just a resistor pack, so makes no difference which way round you put it...
  6. I did think twice about the title!! Stevie007 - I'll write up a full list tonight and come back to you, cheers. Rich
  7. Anybody got any pointers/ recommendations/ tips for building an electronic POS. It's for a beauty salon, so will need bar-coding for maybe 150 items, probably 10 department allocations and the facility for discounts/ promotions etc - so a very basic system. Will probably just run it from a laptop or a cheap desktop so really looking for software & accessory recommendations. Cheers Rich
  8. unfortunately (!) not quite true... http://www.camelspiders.net/
  9.  awesome work buddy - really wish i had the skill!
  10. so that numberplate recognition software only has to be programmed for one font more like ;)
  11. You could get some of that workshop paint, and paint the floors and walls?? Would keep down most of the dust, and saves the hassle of putting a cover on and off...
  12. Did you supply him with new tiles? In that case, why not turn up with a team of lads to take back unpaid-for goods? The police are unlikely to be interested as it's a civil matter... worked for my mate who delivered a load of soil and turf which they refused to pay for... soon changed their minds when an eight wheeler and 2 mini diggers turned up!!
  13. not sure about tv cable, but usually use some thin cable as piping... I used car audio cable when I did mine... QUOTE=hedgehogz]do you have a photos we can look at of this. why do you need tv cable? that has really thrown me
  14. Get someone to have a look if you can - if you've got a boost controller, there'll be a couple undone for a start... run a diagnostic and see what faults come up.
  15. You should be easily able to get a light/ indicator flash to indicate that it's set...
  16. This one... ? clicky
  17. He's probably pissed off with all the calls "Hi, I've seen your car in the Auto Trader, but I can only go to £300... it'd be cash, I can pick it up today"
  18. Doesn't bugger them up - just alters the speed signal to them. You will find that your steering is lighter now at motorway speed, which isn't a particularly good thing.
  19. most of them seem to repair/ recover seats rather than repair the structure... might hit WH Smith and read a few classic mags!!
  20. Anyone into their classics? I need to find somewhere that can rebuild a car seat - i.e. remove covering, re-spring, re-weld etc etc... I'm assuming that there are companies that do it for classic cars, but can't turn anything up! Other than that, reckon it's possible to DIY? it's not for the zed btw!! Rich
  21. There's a great Thai - The Ruan Orchard on Lower Bridge Street... love it in there! Pubs wise - there's a few decent bars in the city - Bar Lounge, Amber Lounge & Watergates are the trendy ones... The Custom House, The Vic & The Red Lion are more traditional pubs which have a good atmosphere. In the city centre, most pubs are pretty decent.
  22. I was looking at one of these the other day - do look very, very nice... still considering swapping Merc for it as my C-class has been quite possibly the shittest car I've owned! What age they willing to go to... 8K kinda restricts the choice when you want prestige> 3litre!
  23. Maybe the guy who does the Smuthy/ DTA hardpipes - seeing as they can weld on bosses for dump valves... Failing that, any decent fabrication place should be able to do it - there's one up by me, but posting would bump the cost considerably! Somewhere that works on cystom bikes would be good - they're used to producing decent polished welds...
  24. My elbow was like that after coming off a motorbike... I left it & it went down fairly quickly. It was only a few years later when I had an x-ray that it was pointed out to me that the end of my elbow had a big chunk missing!
  25. I'd be phoning the police...
