    he's around at zclub...
  7. other way round - petrol can dissolve the rubber in diesel fuel pumps etc, but not vice-versa. With the amount you put in you'll be fine - I remember reading the tolerance for how much diesel can be put in a petrol stations petrol tanks before needing to be drained (when done by mistake - not general practice!!) and it was gobsmackingly high!! Rich
  8. Keep your chin up Si. Don't worry about upsetting people on here - it's half the fun eh? ;) Good luck Rich
  9. utter *****cks http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/k/koran-war.htm http://urbanlegends.about.com/library/bl_quran_911.htm etc
  10. erm... ditto I'm afraid!! Gauges not too hard to fit - most problematic one is the oil as the obvious point to use is the US spec sender location, but you need an elbow to clear the column! Neatest option is to get a greddy sandwich plate - see chris@getgreddy in the traders section.
  11. Don't pay too much attention to the stock gauge - get an aftermarket one, and you'll see how innacurate it is!
  12. I just got normal contact adhesive from B&Q after reading through some write ups... i think the problem with the non-solvent one is it can bubble in the heat. Just be prepared to wait while the numpty goes to a; get permission to sell it because they're not old enough to sell it themselves, b; finds the bloody stuff!! Rich
  13. typical! thanks for the confirmation... just a shame my local MB has possibly the worst customer service in the world, ever! Rich
  14. Piece of piss to fit - if you can't do it yourself, anywhere with a lift will do it for not very much... no specialist knowledge required!
  15. right... that's me off to tell my mum she has some sewing to do!!! Cheers for that. Rich
  16. on seats possibly, but no need on doors etc as they're not subject to movement.
  17. hmmm... depends on how it reacts to heat - I'm using solvent contact adhesive as I know this is ok when the car gets baked in the sun. I'd roughly shape the vinyl before putting the glue on - it's only tight corners you'll need to form as vinyl has a surprising amount of stetch in it.
  18. to be honest I haven't looked as I didn't get in till 5am this morning (went to see the Calzaghe fight - brilliant!! :hyper: :hyper: ) but that should just put the pad warning light on...
  19. yep - remove it all. I've seen someone suggest removing the fabris and leaving the "inter-layer" of vinyl but I didn't bother and it looks fine (apart from the corners!!). I ironed the fabric to heat the glue and make it easier to remove the edges, then it just pulls off pretty easily. you should find vinyl slightly easier as it will mould to the curves better with a little heat from a hair drier... good luck!
  20. My daily drive is kicking up a couple of faults, just wondering if anyone could shed some light before I take it to the dealer... 52 C class kompressor - showing ESP and BAS fault. Brakes still working (and to be honest feels fully assisted too) and the ESP still kicks in every 2 secs in this bloody snow! Had a look at google, and it points towards a faulty brake switch - is this correct? Cheers Rich
  21. Hey guys could anyone post a pic showing how they cut the alcantara to go round the corners - rear top is the worst as it's most visible. Just struggling to get it round the radius without looking rubbish!! cheers Rich
  22. oooh, I can hear the arguments now!! Try searching for "decat turbo seals" lots of interesting info/ arguments about the subject!
  23. \ good luck mate - was sure I downloaded them, but can't find them now!! :headvswal :headvswal
