  1. turn off signatures in your CP then!! :smash:
  2. Does anyone know what these are called/ where you can buy then (plus the necessary crimping tool)?? It's not for the zed, but for my old man's microlight - it's a bit more serious when you've got a loose clip that high up!! Rich
  3. 99% MAF - pull off the black connector by the airfilter (or somewhere near the back of the airbox if standard - can't remember how it is standard!!) and if it's stil the same then that's your (first!!) problem! Putting the connector on/off a few times cleans the bits you can't reach, but you'll probably find the visible contacts are green! good luck! Rich
  4. Looks like AG2 - but wait for someone to confirm!! You're best off having it colour matched anyway (rather than off the shelf - really obvious fading with red... as I found out!!) Rich
  5. Samco code is TCS08 - doubt you'll have much luck though as they're manufadctured to order, rather than just being moulded. Rich
  6. should still work though - thought a few people swapped to fit cheap el gauges??
  7. me too!! C'mon, someone must know!!!
  8. not driven an auto zed, but loads of other cars... and they usually only redline if you hold the kick-down switch down (i.e. foot to the floor, then a bit extra). Maybe different on the z, if so I'll get me coat!! Rich
  9. AFAIK the problem comes with the inlets and outlets, whose position depends on whether the two intercoolers are joined horizontally or vertically (since the front mount is made from 2 separate i/cs). So, you need to make sure the in/ out pipes are in the right position to avoid crossover. Rich
  10. There may be some regulations somewhere, but as long as you're sensible you;d be having a pretty bad day to get in trouble for it! You could speak to Luke at Z Centre - he was lookign at swapping the headlight housing for, I think, MX5(??) ones to incorporate the indicator there - for the viper bumper. Rich
  11. guess if the Nos is cooling the I/Cs down, anything hitting them would do more damage as they're more brittle?!?!
  12. I would guess it could, to a degree, but the problem would be running them at 100% duty constantly. If you need to increase flow rates, you're in to fairly involved tuning and, IMHO, shouldn't be trying to cut corners. Rich
  13. it's pretty hard to tell for definite without swapping in a good one to be honest. The one thing I would say is that if you upgrade to a series 2 you won't be wasting your money since it WILL fail one day! Rich

  15. Bad example there - SOC estimated he actually hit the tree at 60... i.e. not left the road at 60! I think the ruling's good for motorists as it defies logic that drving at speed is inherently dangerous.
  16. Accurate boost gauge! I wouldn't bother with one (manual controller) though - nasty things! Go with mig tips instead! Rich
  17. then there'll be another thread in a few weeks showing everyone how to open PMs :headvswal :headvswal
  18. you turn it over without starting - open the fuel filler cap and remove the pump relay is, i think, the general consensus... usually worth testing 'wet' to avoid erroneous results - drop of oil in the cylinder. HTH Rich
  19. had a drunken argument and punched a door... which unfortunately had glass panels in it! Going through didn't hurt too much, but clenching my fist with the pain afterwards and seeing the tendons pop suddenly made the pain real, and the edward scissorhands contraption of rods and wires I had for the next 6 weeks just rubbed salt in the wound!!

you should let a few other forums know (those that the wheels would fit)... the more eyes the better...
  21. IMHO it's not worth replacing them with engine in situ - take the opportunity to do a few other jobs while the lumps out... everything's easier with it pulled. I've also heard a few horror stories of turbo failures after people have doine in situ...
  22. have a look here - http://www.wheelspecs.com/specs/wheelbrands/77 can't see series 6, but series 5 has correct PCD so should/ could fit with spacers...
  23. great car in terms of doing what it was designed for - know a few people that use tehm as cheap track cars and love them cos they handle well and never (seem to) break down!! I undersstand most people go for J-Spec as they're considerably better trimmed, and have an LSD as standard (not sure if this was for all models though). You'll have to ship around though as there are loads of dogged ones about, although you should get a real tidy one for 5k - I know someone who found a mint limited edition one for that, and it wasn't that old neither! Good luck - just don't let anyone catch you driving it on the road ;)
  24. PTUs seem to die after laying unused for a while...
  25. on a zed truck maybe  guess it's mm!!
