  1. regret it you will (in yoda style before someone criticises my grammar!)
  2. not really any need for the attitude - this is a car club which survives through members, and one of the best ways of advertising is the car stickers. I think new/ nearly new members have the right to ask why they're not recieving anything physical (obviously they get other benefits). These kind of posts reflect badly on the forum, so how about new members getting a email from a mod explaining that packs and stickers are being re-developed and giving an eta - that would just be a common courtesy.
  3. definitley! not a chance it's not leaking somewhere. could be leaking from somewhere not so obvious - i.e. not from a fuel line... never worked on a corolla - but i'd start from the beginning and check your filler pipe (you'll be surprised how far petrol will 'run' before dripping) and follow it down to the tank, and from there all the way to the engine. And finding someone with a good sense of smell should help! Good luck
  4. it'd be surprising if it ever got anywhere - the only retrospective vehicle laws ever introduced was the requirement for electric indicators... imagine trying to police it - they'd have to allowances for everything plus someone (i guess vosa) to enforce it. sounds like a bunch of nobheads writing a white paper to me!!
  5. I was tempted to post a link to you're (joke!!) rant from the other day, but decided against it!
  6.         missed that fookin boat! reckon my best buy was my sierra - tought me how to drift (and I didn't mind hammering the body along the way!)
  7. I wouldn't bother doing anything! You don't stand to gain anything really (unless you were injured) - the only potential loss you'll suffer is if you try to get personal car insurance within the next 5 years... but there's nothing you can do about this now as the accident was 'your' fault - at least as far as the insurance companies are concerned. They'll of sorted this out now, and I would bet good money they won't be interested in pursuing a garage for liability as the legal costs would far outway the return they'd get. Let your company pay a little bit extra insurance come renewal time, and have your revenge by slaggin Drive Vauxhall to everyone you meet ;)
  8. aha... http://300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=22069&highlight=gps+adjust+speedo andy may be your man if he ever got round to it! is replying instead of editing post whoring?!?! haha
  9. I'm pretty sure there's a potentiometer on the back somewhere... would be a bit of a twat to adjust & drive & watch GPS though!! I remember someone posting about it, but can't find the thread...
  10. fookin huuuuuuuuuuuge job for anyone!! Definitely get a 2nd opinion!!
  11. it can increase the exhaust pressure all it wants, but as soon as you consider thermodynamic laws you'll realise you're pissing in the wind! So you've got all this exhaust pressure supplying air, problem being it exits so hot it's useless. Unfortunately I'm at work but I reckon this thread is set to be one of the longest ever!! Rich
  12. you won't really feel a difference (especially if you're talking about the cambelt specifically - obviously a proper service will sort out little niggles) - it's preventative. Don't decide whether to get it done on the basis of performance - do it when it's due or now if you can't be sure it's been done!
  13. looking at those times... me too!!
  14. nice one! This is still on my 'maybe one day' list... how long to get to this stage?? Rich
  15. I arranged a group buy a while back on the woolies kit which is brilliant - have a look in the thread for some feedback & info. see link: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=36654&highlight=leather Rich
  16. seen a few forums that use a points system - i.e. ask a technical question, award points (say 100) to the best answer, or divide as you see fit amongst the various replies/ solutions... once the question is answered, the starter closes the thread. Not sure how applicable this is to vbulletin, but keeps the tech info concise, and awards people who contribute to the technical aspect of the forum. Rich
  17. got mine from the local market - cheap as chips!! Rich
  18. Know what you mean mate - I'm similar, but only four years. Try and get away for a weekend and do something different - I'd say most people's problem is routine - get up, work, go home, eat, watch tv, maybe shag, sleep... repeat! It's unlikely you've done anything wrong - she's probably feeling the same!! Chin up! Rich
  19. guess the moral of the story is 'don't drive when you're down to the wire'!! :headvswal :headvswal
  20. As Silverfox says above, I had this when my battery went kaput... I checked the alternator (well a sparky mate did!!) and it was fine - just a duff battery. may be worth swapping in a good batery if you can and checking the running voltage with that?? Think my battery died from lack of use/ jump starting too often... plus the fact it was god knows how old! Rich
  21. been loads of info posted if you search - cat warning light is generally unburnt fuel, so check spark plugs, PTU etc Rich
  22. DON'T WORRY: it's a hoax: http://www.breakthechain.org/exclusives/90pound2.html http://www.snopes.com/crime/fraud/jailcall.asp http://www.hoax-slayer.com/nine-zero-hash-hoax.html etc etc... Don't pass on the 'warning'!! Rich
  23. I've got a j-spec, and if I remember correctly, it's an 058 battery in mine. The trminals do sit towards the rear, but not a problem. Rich
  24. If you're fully comp on your other car, you MIGHT be covered 3rd party - depends on your policy wording whether the car has to be owned by someone else, subject to it's own insurance etc etc - but I got away with it on a producer in a similar situation as the DVLA hadn't changed the records yet, so they couldn't prove it was my car... if you'd only just picked up the car, you'd have the added advantage of the previous owner probably still being insured on it which would help you also. Good luck with it! Rich
