Help with 1 meg ADSL connection
used zen.co.uk for work for ages now - and been making loads of changes recently - they complete almost immediately and customer support is really good & quick. although to be honest, I don't know how the residential packages compare to others. Rich

Heater Matrix
Ok... got a bad damp/ sweet smell when I put the heat on, OR the Air Con - it seems to start after about a minute or so. Now, first thought is the heater matrix... but can't find any water anywhere, and rads full. Seen a few previous threads on this, but seems odd that the smell only comes after a while - should be there all the time if matrix leaking?!?! There's no obvious leaves stuck anywhere, but guess I'll have a proper look later. Anything else that can cause it? It's definately a damp smell as well as a sweet smell (which to me seems like coolant, but it's not leaking!?!?). Any thoughts guys/ gals   Rich

insurance
you don't!!!!! i just have to sign a declaration of the mileage at every renewal.

insurance
adrian flux did me limited mileage - as sole car.... but I'd guess you'll struggle to get your premium down with a london postcode. rich

Help speeding ticket
it was a footballer whos agent signed it on his behalf, and it was ruled as inadmissable evidence - there's no specific legal requirement to sign the form in question, but you'll get shafted a million other ways! But if it's not returned, I don't think it's necessarily all over - unless you are required to send it by registered mail!

Insurance question
AFAIK the other car must have insurance for your cover to be valid... although I did get away with driving an uninsured car on my policy as I had all my documents so I didn't get a producer!! The best thing to do is add the car temporarily to your insurance (can only do this if it is uninsured) - should cost nothing compared to gettin done for driving without insurance!! HTH Rich

leak-is it bad?
how?? it vents to atmosphere!

Another 3 points & £60 fine!!!!
Go to citizens advice - they're usually pretty good. After that, go to local paper - the bad press would probably be enough of a threat to get it dropped. It'd make a great story - on the phone you're told to wait while they recover it, then turn up and tell you they lied on the phone, and they just came to book you!! And journalists can make things sound even worse in articles... Rich

Chroming!
i'd say your best bet was finding a decent classic motorbike restorer - they do loads of chroming. Rich

Mobile phone walpaper
just buy a connector off ebay... you can get all the software you need on the web, and drop any pic you want on... for free!!! Think my connector and a load of pics, apps etc cost £12....

What fuel?
"The stuff in the can is usually toluene (paint thinner, RON 120). Buy it in bulk and it will be far less expensive." True, but paint thinners will hardly ever be pure - not worth the risk IMO Rich

How to dispose of a flare
just pull it apart - then turn the lid round and spark the flint... nothing vrey spectacular happens!! But if you don't fancy that, as was said, the local fire brigade should be able to dispose of it. And afaik, the police could take a VERY dim view of carrying it... Rich
