  1. No, Zcentre work out of the owners house in Nottingham, the workshop they use for mechanical work is not a 300zx specialist but a 4x4 specialist, enough said. Jeff
  2. Just a quick note: saw a fair few boost controllers use the radio / clock feed and subsequently had problems with the solenoid cycle / frequency as the feed supply is too small, be sure any supply feed is capable or running the new and old circuit at the same time. Jeff
  3. Well terraclean is not an oil flush but an injector / valve / upper cylinder cleaner, any improvements will be be based on how dirty your engine is inside, and given the amount of detergents and cleaners in fuel these days, especially super unleaded, I doubt you would see any benefit, an old school Jag that has been lumping around town for 20 years then yes very likely dirty as hell and would see some improvement. Jeff
  4. Do not normaly advocate additive`s but what you need is Wynn's Hydraulic Valve Lifter Treatment, we used it many times in the workshop on customers zeds and the results were always good and safer than using flush. Jeff
  5. So have has the 30zx scene really come to this, chanced across a serious ad the other day for a set of 300zx carpets, not often they come up but take a look at the pictures, why on earth would anyone bid on them, let alone why would you list them? jeeeezzzzz !! Jeff
  6. Erm... I think you have little to worry about, take some pictures to show her how bad it is, and whilst your at it take a hard long look yourself from, your description I think the best you can expect is "unfinished project " money, which basically is a fraction of what you have spent. The car has no road use value from what you say, needs many thousands spending in it, depending on the shell condition rust wise it is likely that is all you have saleable, sorry to be blunt, you know it could even be easier to say to her you have it, I want it collecting by such and such time here are the pics. might find then she is less interested. Jeff
  7. The speedo flicking issue will almost certainly be caused by a dodgy kph to mph converter. Jeff
  8. Do yourself a massive favour and do not fit these, they are pants as far as using them for looking in, the view point is so small angle restricted they are almost rendered useless, when customers zeds came in the workshop reversing out was a major issue, they really are that bad ! Jeff
  9. R.I.P. Actor Burt Reynolds, my first car hero !!
  10. All great advise, but I would add, you could also pay £5k + and still get a bad one, each car needs assessing on its merits, get deep and dirty underneath as corrosion is proving to be the zx down fall these days, sills inner and outer, rear wheel arches, rear quarter panel around the fuel flap opening and the rear panel that runs under the rear lights. Unless you have proof positive all is ok then after purchase budget for a cam belt service, fluids and filters, normal stuff for any car really. Jeff
  11. Ditch the electric fan and get the viscous back on with the shroud, or it can/ will end in tears. Jeff
  12. Lots of wd40 and a slight twist and push down be careful to not damage the new one of course. Jeff
  13. Odd how the 99 spec bumper has always been less expensive than the earlier one and more easily available, in the day we bought and sold maybe close to 40 of them and the trade price then was £275 from the local Nissan dealer who got them next day from stock already within the UK... how odd is that? Jeff
  14. https://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?168336-Injector-changing&highlight=injectors All here "a how to" with pictures for No 6 injector, there are more "how to" for the other injectors I did find in search box. Jeff
  15. The clues are all pointing to accessory / ignition live change over at the fuse box. You loosing radio stations so memory feed is been lost, your key is stuck in the lock, that means feed to the barrel solenoid is been lost ( only on jap autos) the lack of imobilser action is loss of feed, all of these are on the same circuit. Jeff
  16. In out, in out, you shake it all about You do the Okey-Cokey and you turn around That's what it's all about Oh, Okey-Cokey-Cokey Oh, Okey-Cokey-Cokey Oh, Okey-Cokey-Cokey Knees bend, arms stretch Rah-rah-rah
  17. The engine cranking is not indicative of it been correct, with the belt how you have it.. at best the engine timing ( cam`s to crank ) would be compromised and be under powered / troublesome, at worse that adjuster will be too tight and loose the belt! Get it off and do it right, you should not need to fight it on if done correctly, you need to put the 10 mm adjuster bolt back in and close it up, leave the bolts holding the adjuster on to the block loose, when the belt is fitted on,use the adjuster pulley to hold the belt on as you just nip it up, now press the adjuster against the belt gently to take some slack out. Now nip up the bolts to the block tightly, and finally the pulley bolt. Check the belt timing marks against the pulley marks ( not the back plate) take special attention to the crank and belt markings, now take 5 mins and take photo`s. Go back and check everything, and now you can remove the 10 mm bolt from the adjuster completely, now check all marks one more time and if all good rotate the engine at the crank. Be aware the belt timing marks and the pulley marks will NOT line up again unless you turn the engine backwards which you don`t want to do. I cannot emphasise the importance of getting this right, especially as if slightly wrong the engine will still run, but it will have issues you will be chasing around for ever. Jeff
  18. Ok that is an air bag slip ring in the photo, guessing someone has changed the wheel for a non air bag so hence the light, also the light is actually a large led soldered to the track in the speedo so no bulb to remove, you could cover it. Jeff
  19. This has been all very confusing I must say :confused1: Jeff
  20. Think Stephen meant what car are you going to transport it in ! an estate car, a hatchback, Ford Focus , Mondeo etc. One thing I would warn you of, the oil in manual gearbox`s smells like sh*t and spill it into your boot and you will smell it every time you use your car. Plastic line the boot area and two or three old sheets too, stop up the end of the output shaft, keep it higher to prevent oil loss ( assuming it has oil in ) oh and the weight is a consideration if lifting over a high boot lip on your own. Jeff
  21. **STOP ** you have not done the cambelt correctly. Jeff Read this >> https://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?135139-Align-timing-belt&highlight=cambelt
  22. Chime ok but no back lights or front lights or dash lights?
  23. Have you checked the fuse panel inside the car, by the accelerator pedal, top row third from the left, should be a 10 amp red one, check it, that is teh side light feed, with that gone you get all sorts of issues. That fuse can go when any work is done on the radio / console area, side lights and or connector with water in or dodgy cables. Jeff
  24. "Shameful" agree on reflection maybe the wrong word, how about "unfortunate" Gaz? that still says what I was trying to get over without been so in you face eh? and as far as the trophy`s I received in the past I did say " I am very proud and appreciative to display even today in my office" so keeping it respectful. As far as putting the club down at this time of change, not quite but whilst the changes are been made it does provide a unique moment to share some illustrate past formats that were, well less than would of been expected. See Gaz, these days I have a little voice in all of the club going on now that I am not a trader, own a 300zx or even reside in the UK, but what I am is a paid member who has been here since the inception of the forum and have like yourself seen many changes and corrections to improve things, and feedback was always welcomed be it positive or negative in times past. However of more recent time`s that has not been so easy, the changes that are coming about now are great, and many of which I have spoken about in the past and received criticism for, check my posts it all there to see, over time I have kept repeating what some have viewed as little digs in here and finally it seems to be happening, such threads as> Members v active members Poor new thread count Forum look Trader apathy The black hole thread "what have you done to your zed today " Forum donation scheme ( what a mistake that was !) + many more, you see getting changes / improvements here has been akin to getting an appointment with your GP any time in the next 12 months with the typical security receptionist who`s job it is to be a stone wall ! Not having a go, just trying to keep the flow going now we have it rolling ... Jeff
  25. Perfect. Jeff
