  10. Good car, some odd MOT mileage anomalies most likely a speedo issue /change, sills have been repaired ( MOT FAIL 2016 ) and painted along with the rear quarter, clearly by a painter who could not blend old and new paint !! shocking, never get that when someone collects a car do they not think to say THAT IS A DIFFERENT SHADE / COLOUR !! that said looks tidy and priced about right for a change. Jeff
  11. a thought... imagine if it discovered that yes indeed life existed on Mars many millennia ago, and in the form of what we know today as "Man", until that is he ( man) raped and pillaged the planet`s mineral and all natural resources to the point it ended up in a total planet war which resulted in the baron place it is today, of course a few of them ( children )were placed in escape vehicles from the dyeing planet and later landed on this new nice blue planet..... but with the lost knowledge of their technology had to start again and formed earthlings.... be so ironic if we were in fact the Martian`s and were aliens on this planet we call Earth....lol Jeff
  12. Yes if this bit you mean? only comes with the glass Jeff
  13. Looks like Concept Z have a solution to>> https://conceptzperformance.com/kuruma-z-quarter-window-moldings-4-seater-22-nissan-300zx-z32-80822-vp200_p_8221.php Jeff

There is some genuine nice zeds for sale at the moment, fairly priced and will sell no doubt, hoping this is not someone here, kind hoped we were better than this. Jeff £8,500
  15. The rubber on the rear quarter glass is moulded to the glass and comes new with the glass, the glass can be a nightmare to get out in one piece or scratching paint work, and if bought new are like £250 each !!! So a tip here is not to remove the glass, where the bottom strip meets the rubber at the apex with a sharp blade you can cut it and remove the bottom strip on its own. Now the door strips are exactly the same profile but too long, so buy spare door one`s and cut them to match the rear one`s length, refit it and seal them with black rubber silicon, done carefully it will go completely unnoticed. Note, you need a left door strip for the right rear window and a right door strip for left rear window, this is so the stop end`s are the right way around. Jeff
  16. If your genuinely ready to look at a zed then do more research you have a way to go yet, get up close and personal with some, talk to owners in the flesh as it were and look at their zeds. There is so much to know and don`t feel the urge to short cut that part of the buying procedure, the old adage "buy in haste, repent at leisure" could not be more relevant when getting a zed, remember your looking to buy a near 30 year old car, nothing wrong with that, in fact as you say much good can be said about the design and driving experience of cars of that era But know this, the killer to these cars is RUST, yep big fat capitals RUST, this was a problem ten years ago and is more of a problem now as many have been not well repaired and look ok but have a problems lurking. Engines and gearboxes are as with any car in need of tlc, take care of them and they are fine in what ever guise you choose, wear and tear needs to be taken into account and typically a full service should be in the budget after buying one. The price is not a clear one, and in keeping with cars of these nature there is no real "average price" with cars been values on their own merits. Sure more folk will chip in here so listen to them and their experiences, be careful, buy wise and manage your expectation, they were a great car and can be now, but on the flip there are many money pits out there. Good luck, post here any likely ones you see as it might be known here. Jeff
  17. Guys my thread was light hearted look at how the motoring scene has changed, in the nineties a zed was simply wow, on par with Porche and Bmw at the time, as I said "remember a time when a Z32 300zx in standard stock form was all a guy wanted " Its just a shame that the essentials of what the zed was then has been lost to a degree, most likely as its been eclipsed now by newer cars with more tech and arguably more progressive looks, that said I firmly believe there really is no need to try and compete with later cars, the 300zx is more than capable of holding its own, films such as "Fast and Furious " did a lot for bring the Jap car scene to the attention of the masses, but at the cost of changing the perception of the cars for ever. My own first zed still is on the road today 20 + years after I owned it, I was shocked to learn it is now a frankenstein Fast and furious mash up.... and they call this progress  My old zed as it was in 1995 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> My zed today >>>>>>>>>>>
  18. Having not lived in Tamworth I would not know that one ?? but for anyone who does and wants to make a complaint then see here>> https://www.tamworth.gov.uk/report-missed-bin-collection Jeff
  19. Who here remembers the time when, the day you got your zed you felt you had everything you wanted in a car no need to modify it, no need to feel a body kit would improve its looks and no needs to start talking about a big bhp engine build. A time when a Z32 300zx in standard stock form was all a guy wanted. I remember it, for me it was 1995 I bought my first zed, it was just 4.5 years old with 43k miles and I thought I had died and gone to heaven, my Sierra Cosworth which I sold to buy the zed just faded my memory within moment of driving the zed....... Just not the same now is it guys, need to get that custom paint and body kit fitted, order a raft of upgrades from the US and mod it mod it mod it !! Shame on you new owner heathens !! lol Jeff
  20. Visions of you guys in a circle having a wee competition.... English SASANACH !! lol Jeff
  21. So the powers that be in their infinite wisdom deemed it is now legal for some approved instructors to take novice young drivers on some of Britain`s busiest motorways....... oh my days, what is wrong with these people ?? I have always thought a newly passed driver who can already take to the motorway the same day as passing their test with little or no experience of driving in fast moving traffic a mistake, and considered a period of non motorway driving allowance of say 6 months after passing a better idea, but now its seems some one who has not even learnt to drive in town yet can get on that super highway !! Can see it now, fast moving traffic brought to chaos as learner driver crawls along in lane one, not giving to merging traffic and panicking when faced with moving between large vehicles and negotiating junctions at the same time. How many accidents will be caused a mile further back with no blame then for what caused it... bad enough with some of the once a year on a motorway drivers who have no concept of how it all works! Who else things this is a recipe for disaster ?? Jeff
  22. The ptu failures is not from external heat but from internal heat caused by poor connections at the connectors, this increases the current draw through the unit and hence the internal silver solder melts. Jeff
  23. They do when you back off, all of that lovely boost leaks away....Phish !!! Jeff
  24. Its going to end in tears......
  25. No don`t do it ! get hold of a set of nice cheap Jap spec springs or lowered after market one`s if you must, must be hundreds of them around, and fit new shocks at the same time, the UK springs are too high and soft at the rear especially, coil overs are best suited to track, I know Mister R and D2 have kits and many here have them fitted but as the car is so original it would be a shame to deviate from that, in fact the more stock now the greater interest you will find the car has.
