  7. Spitfire roundabout ... Birmingham ........ Oh and what ever you do, don`t mention the war !!
  8. Take a look here >> https://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?175920-Pesky-targa-drains-and-electrical-issues&highlight=auto+gearbox Jeff
  9. No words, except ....how ?? the approach to the roundabout is uphill ! Jeff
  10. Buy some electrically conductive glue epoxy ( yes really ) and fix a new spade terminal on there, once dry reconnect the cable. Jeff https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electrically-conductive-wire-glue-Bond-low-voltage-electrical-connections-18ml/263824221434?epid=1588969417&hash=item3d6d2624fa:g:Cc0AAOSwcBhWXlj9:rk:6:pf:0
  11. Leaking pcv valves, simple fix Jeff
  12. If you can hear a repetitive clicking sound, then it is most likely the actuator gear is split.
  13. Normally can be done on line, however if you have recently bought the car it sometimes will only allow by post, not sure about inspection though, odd.
  14. Mmm..... yes sadly it is not a great situation, especially as it is the club TLO, getting a tad embarrassing now I fear  Jeff
  15. Oh dear, trouble coming.. https://news.sky.com/story/jobs-axe-hangs-over-car-parts-distributor-as-top-team-quits-11592771
  16. On the question of buying a 350z from a drivers point of view then that has been answered above, however what has not been mentioned is the terrible quality of the body, chassis and suspension metals used. Here is a link to a post I did in 2009 on a 2004 350z that came into the workshop, went on to see a good many after this one in as bad or worse state, shocking for a five year old car at the time, makes you wonder nearly 10 years on what the corrosion would look like, with lots of sub £4k 350z around now, mostly with +150k miles they may not be quite the deal they look at first. https://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?133010-350z&highlight=350z
  17. sadly non of the above and including US late models were ever fitted with canbus protocol, remember for that to work, every sensor and module that is connected by the twisted pair would have to be re-engineered to give active data stream, way too much work for the small sales for late models. Just a few of the modules that would need re working to get full OB11 diagnostic ABS unit Steering ecu Ecu Light control modules Air bag modules Steering angle modules Gear box modules Cruise control module Steering wheel switch modules Ac module / system Complete New stereo system The list goes on and on ... and of course to be fully OB11 compliant for world wide sales the diagnostic port would have to be compliant too and not a Nissan Consult one. Jeff
  18. Mmm... its all about protocol, Nissan used their own Consult diagnostic system on both the early 8 bit and later 16 bit ecu`s. It would be doubtful a generic "scanner would have the correct software on board to "communicate " even with the later 16 bit cars. True OBD11 cars incorporated the canbus electrical system and this is the core of the diagnostic system and is how so much info can be read and coding done from the port, the 300zx was never canbus and as such will not give the info like newer cars. Jeff
  19. You will find a used one of those easy enough and in good condition, there is a few people breaking zeds on here. Jeff
  20. Matrix is the same for each model and remember its not a dash out job, if they say it is they are wrong. https://www.aaronradiator.co.uk/car/heaters/nissan-heater-matrix/nissan-300zx-heater-matrix/
  21. Ok first of all you can by pass the heater matrix in the short term under the bonnet with a length of heater tube from a motor factors, buy two new jubilee clips and link out the two tubes pictures below, the tube can be long enough to circle around and does not matter if it is kinked no need to keep the tube straight. So, and as far as the matrix, DO NOT USE A SECOND HAND ONE ! loud enough eh? Jim is in Bristol and can be done same day, talk to Jim, for pricing and he will supply what you need also. The carpets will take some time to dry out in the weather, so best to something to pull the moisture out. https://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-accessories/interior-car-accessories/air-dry-classic-car-dehumidifier Jeff
  22. So that is it till 2019, a great day had by all, a small snippet of the day here > Jeff
  23. There is a lot to consider when buying an M5 / M6 V10, be sure to do as much research into the maintenance costs and what your own spanner skills. That said there is more Facebook groups than forums and suggest you look there, so much info has been released / revealed on the technical repairs of these cars that it is now way more easy to run what was an £80k high tech car when new, and a few particular specialist have brought down the big ticket repairs such as vano`s issues and rod bearing changes. Pm you some links Jeff
