  1. Have a good one with your family !
  2. Don`t forget to undo the torque converter bolts. Jeff
  3. Here is a potential project, has some less than favourable mot history of corrosion and brake problems, but hey at £5,450 buy it now, it is a way better deal than an £8k bucket of trouble, GOOD LUCK !! Jeff Nissan 300 zx targa, manual. Twin turbo 1996 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-300-ZX-Fairlady-3-0-Twin-turbo/202698501601?hash=item2f31c5ade1:g:mr4AAOSwZYtc9tEP
  4. Whoa !! hang, hang on there a little, firstly you have not been " offered " a 92 manual for £8k that has no windscreen, rusty, no paper work needing welding etc. what is happened someone tried to dupe you, con you or whatever you want to call it they were insulting your intelligence, nothing less. Worryingly you mention "loving these cars" well no disrespect but you need to do a whole lot more research if you did not tell the person making the "offer" to f off right there and then ! There are plenty of good working zeds that can be used straight away for half that price, as I have said before there are a handful of amazing zeds in the UK and mostly owned by people on here who will likely never sell them, if you want to get to that level think of a £20k budget to spend on a good base car, and don`t think spending £20k budget on a good base car gets you a car you can sell for £20k, it does not work like that. Would hate to put you off buying a zed but just be careful, there are some very sly people out there looking for enthusiastic buyers who get side blinded by the thought of owning an eighties supercar. £8k for a dumper... omg heard it all now  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-300zx-Z32-VER-S-ONE-OF-THE-LAST-ONES-EVER-MADE-OF-ITS-TYPE/254258686525?hash=item3b32ffaa3d:g:sZ4AAOSwd01c~RaR £8k car, ok an Na but late model https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-300-zx-TWIN-TURBO-MANUAL-600-bhp-MONSTER-WITH-DOGBOX-COMPLETE-ONE-OFF/283485686699?hash=item4201104bab:g:G-UAAOSwkXtcslol £16k car that cost of £30k to build https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-300zx-twin-turbo-MANUAL/223545492751?hash=item340c59850f:g:nLsAAOSwX0Vc~CHJ £7,200 Starting bid car that cost £32k to build
  5. Wondering where that sign came from, me thinks I know  Jeff
  6. Mmm....we had a shop at our second workshop in 2004/5, we had comfy chairs, fast and furious on loop on the tv, drinks etc. we had open display uits with new items on and we sadly suffered from repeated shop lifting, very upsetting at the time, on one occasion we lost around £150 in bits whilst I was on my own and three lads in one zed came and had some work done, we even had the charity sweets taken in later years without money been put in the tin Never made a big thing about it been a new business etc. at the time, we even tried locked cabinets, and had an air flow meter go missing off the counter, the stories I could tell about the not so nice side of running a business !!! later as staff increased it was not a problem, but you do not forget these things. Jeff
  7. Without the step, the clutch will not clamp so tight, seen this mistake made plenty of times over the years, it is often easier to get hold of another good used one or buy and after market lightened one. Jeff
  8. Well not using taptalk but yes the tick was gone from stay log in, must of been the Samsung update, sported now, thanks Tony. Jeff
  9. Noticed over the passed few days that when viewing the forum via my phone ( lap top fine ) I have to go through the new viewer log in screen, my name and password are in place so just press log in and away I go, not done this before, is it a forum thing or a phone thing, typically Samsung auto update occurred the other day and just wondering, that said other forums I go on are unaffected ...thoughts Jeff
  10. Aghh !! so a perfectly good regular car meet ruined by idiots !! https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/news/derby-news/popular-car-show-cancelled-after-2919679?fbclid=IwAR2zOECrg9J5pr3IkpxTZnnhm8cbmx6V7edqX-EPb99GzzTCeXzQ1WDg-BM
  11. Agree Tony someone need`s to do something, what that is however who knows?? it has fast become so complex and uncertain its an unknown quantity and added to that each and every party has become so entrenched in it`s own agenda there is simply no party or individual that have the ability to see this through on their own, at some point stay or leave with or without a deal the one`s at the sharp end need to find some common ground and fast! That said, the damage is done now to the UK`s world trading negotiations, I mean if anyone or any country want to play hard ball they will, because they know they can now, I have no affiliation to a particular party, I mean they are all much of a muchness now, but certain characters faults are hard to ignore and this is where politics falls down, voting and allegiance to a party can be and is as fickle as liking what one leader wears or what one leader voice sounds like and so on. The ruination of the nation started with the assumption that the UK ( United Kingdom ) was just that, united. Wrong! Let us see, Scotland voted to leave the English, they don`t get on basically, the Welsh assembly often do not recognise Westminster rulings, they don`t get on basically and the Houses of Parliament take great delight in reminding both the Scottish people and the Welsh people that they are second and third best, United Kingdom ...My arse !!!!!! oh and not forgetting Ireland of course !! Look at the pics below, is that a United Kingdom ? is it? NO! and there in lies the problem The damage the B word has done to the UK is unmeasurable, whilst Parliament has battled out the negotiations what has been happening to the usual normal run of the mill work, side lined, put back, there must be a mountain of unresolved papers to be heard in the house from local MP`s on local matters that have just not been possible to do, if anyone thinks leaving / stopping with or without a deal is the end of it are very misled, it will just be the start... Jeff
  12. Mmm... yeh car clubs especially are been effected, younger blood coming on board want an instant platform, life in 2019 eh? They were once very strong and given the numbers of zeds been greater in Aus and more specialist suppliers and workshops it is likely I think a difference in dynamics between the UK and Aus, even the US forums are different again, of course there though is a huge audience. The Aus site have also tried to embrace the FB side of things https://www.facebook.com/Aus300zxForum/ But dwindling numbers and income is killing their efforts unfortunately... Jeff
  13. Seems the Australian forum is suffering from reducing income, shame was always a busy lively place, hope they can turn it around. Jeff
  14. Now that is an answer worthy of some rep !! thanks Jeff - - - Updated - - - Erm, how do you do rep??
  15. Ah thanks, just could not remember about all car parts.... Jeff
  16. Mmm... £9k for a respray, now that is the kind of quote that speaks volumes, it is basically, we do not want to do that job, we have no idea how to tackle it and we dont not want to find out, please take it away, however if you do decide to pay £9k for the work, we will drop it at another body shop who will charge us half that and then you collect it back from us all done.. happy days, or is that just the cynic in me :tongue_smilie: Jeff
  17. Lovely to see a fresh and loved looking zed, makes a change from the reality of many around now, that said came across this little gem on YouTube > Showing rust evaluation on a 1990 na zed, not great but not the worst either and the video is 10 years old !... if you have a good one then love it and enjoy it, however most of them have hidden horrors .... new owner just need to be careful. Jeff
  18. Anyone know to a UK supplier other than dealer for the ac belt adjuster pulley, trying to help a UK pal out. Cheers Jeff https://conceptzperformance.com/nissan-infiniti-nissan-oem-11925-42l06-ac-idler-tensioner-pulley-complete-assembly-nissan-300zx-90-96-z32_p_2675.php ...
  19. Anyone even contemplating buying a 30 year old 300zx for £20K plus range is going to be disappointed, they do not exist in the UK, now I will say there is a handful of club cars that are exceptional examples ( you know who you are ) but they are mainly personal versions of the car, by that I mean, if you get to buy one it will always be reffered to as Joe`s car or Bill put that together, you will never own the build, the sweat and toil, the financial burden and years of dedicated effort and passion that went into the car. You want a £20k car, buy a £5k one and get working on a project....its the only way really in the true enthusiast spirit. Jeff
  20. Bet your neighbours love your ! do they call you Onslow by any chance
  21. Join the race before they shut the doors !! https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/mar/16/number-of-irish-passport-applications-rises-to-record-level Every expat who is able to is on it, bloody Brexit shite !! Jeff Number of Irish passport applications rises to record level Ireland has received 230,000 requests since January, with 76,000 coming from outside country
