  1. Sorry but from a poor ad of an overpriced car how have we established it’s an utter turd? >>>> erm yep ! The interior has been dicked about with and left very unfinished, but the exterior looks alright...>>>> you think ? Someone has spent lots of money on it at some stage >>>> Mmm.... maybe, but even your comments comments would suggest done on a shoe string What it’s guilty of being is overpriced with a poor advert but referring to it as a lemon and not worth £5k, if it’s not worth £5k then neither are most that are about >>>> erm yep ! If you were on the hunt and saw this thread, it might make you pick a different zed >>>>> hopefully yeh ! ... but I guarantee you it will make them pick a different club to join... >>> sorry lost you there ?? All input to threads is welcome and appreciated Jeff
  2. No its all one piece, see picture >> A good second hand one will be fine. Jeff
  3. Classic cars, classic prices, classic looks, enthusiastic following, prices rising, rare........ all words been used to describe the 300zx for some time but again we have a dealer who just cannot help placing a big ticket price on a pup.. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-300-ZX-TWIN-TURBO-MANUAL-Z32-PEARL-WHITE-TARGA-TOP-1995-JDM-MODEL/283547251366?hash=item4204bbb2a6:g:bykAAOSwOQJdKcqs 10 items stand out under the bonnet, 1 Wiper blades torn 2 Missing engine earth lead 3 Missing / broken scuttle trim 4 Spurious fuel filter 5 Missing pipe brackets 6 Missing throttle cover 7 Over spray on rubbers 8 Alarm unit out of bracket 9 Missing fan shroud 10 Bonnet rubber stoppers missing The interior is a hash with a stupid gear lever knob, and a centre radio surround with missing radio system, a stupid dial, screw covers missing, cheap speedo over lay showing 5 mph when stationary, burn hole in the drivers seat, missing hazard light switch cig lighter missing and worn after market steering wheel. This kind of car and price does the marque no good at all, a dealer who also thinks the 300zx targa tops were called aero tops .. aka Toyota supra style ! Jeff
  4. Not wanting to cast doubt on what is happening, but very worrisome.
  5. Cable also opens the boot, so open the boot lid with the key, then remove the side panel behind the flap and the mechanism can be pulled to release the flap, or work with pliers at the broken end pushing the cable not pulling to see if it opens. Jeff
  6. Most common issue is after an exhaust swap the exhaust overheat sensor cables are snipped out and later short out bringing the light on, that said is you had any kind of a misfire and neat petrol was going down the cat, it would light up in there and bring the warning light on. Jeff
  7. No need to sand the needle, with mine they were glued in with a touch of super glue at the back, so took the one off, repositioned it to give clearance and re glued in place all sorted, some did click into place rather than need adhesive or tape though, either way its doable, avoid removing needles it can lead to a world of pain. Jeff
  8. That will be it, got caught out myself years ago, the fuel gauge needle was stuck at the quarter tank point, ran out of fuel on the way back from JAE as a result ! Jeff
  9. Yeh talking about chipped/ boosted twin turbo.
  10. If it is standard and in good tune / timing etc then good quality unleaded is just fine.
  11. There was two sump pans used, one for twin turbo and one for non turbo, there was also a mix of both with sump plug and some without, difficult to tell the age of the box by the sump, and always the torque converter from the donor box should be used or cross contamination will occur. Jeff
  12. Very low milage 68,000 miles 300zx twin turbo automatic gearbox fully tested no leaks whines gears all select as they should never slipped complete gearbox from a 1995 jdm import 60 days warranty supplied. Business seller information joshuajockey joshua p knowles bank tn11 0pu tonbridge, Kent UK Mmm...was the actual issue with the box?
  13. As with all things insurance, get it firmly ( in writing ) the model information, as mentioned above the term "Nissan 300zx auto" is sometimes mixed up by insurance companies with the Z31 model despite the age and can make a big difference. I had this problem over 15 years ago when I got my second 300 zx and insisted the company I insured through at the time added Z32 in the description on the policy just to be sure. Jeff
  14. Often unplugging the afm when running it will cause the engine to stall as it does not change over quickly to the base map, unplugging it and then starting the engine will work. Jeff
  15. I myself had Gtr calipers and discs and also fitted many to customers cars in the day and they all squealed!, tried everthing including shims and paste, different pads and just put up with it.
  16. Need to get the go pro fitted up for the next run !!
  17. Time : 6.00am no-one about, slow for a roundabout, take the next exit, follow the curve around and it open`s up to this !! (pic below) Would be rude not to hit the M button and do it justice.......... wish I had found this road sooner !! Big kid at heart....always will be !
  18. Ok quick question, have you taken the main oil seal retainer off yet ? if not leave it in place the main seal can be removed by levering it out carefully with a small screwdriver or pick, spear it first and then pull and lever, been careful to not scratch the housing. However if you have removed it and the paper gasket it toast, then silicon sealant will be fine, the two mating surfaces are are machine finished and as such are very flat, a bead of sealant will be fine, just use high temp rtv sealant clear or black will be fine the orange coloured one I do not like but thats me . Jeff
  19. Said it time and time again.... " unfinished project for sale, thousands spent " this is the sad end to many project cars, reality can be a bitch sometimes, good look for the future sale buddy. Jeff
  20. A good few years back was on a plane to Nice and he was in the row behind us, and was attending a classic car rally in Monaco along with the many other journalists and photographers aboard. A couple of the other passengers tried to speak with him and he acted like a right diva, he wanted off the plane ahead of everyone else when we landed, doning sunglasses. a hat and pulled his collar up and marched to the passport control double quick, it was really funny to see, especially as he was on a bucket cheap flight just like the rest of us....
  21. Came across this by pure chance, interesting what Quentin Wilson view on the future of the 300zx.
