  1. Well as standard there is no lock solenoid fitted in the drivers door, it's actuated manually by using the key, that then unlocks the passenger door solenoid. The only reason to have a drivers side one is for remote locking / alarm, if this is the case then an additional motor solenoid has been fitted, this has move to open the door lock and trigger the passenger side too. If the rod from it has slipped or set wrong it will cause the problems your experiencing. Jeff
  2. Can we have another vote please, did not like the outcome of that one  Jeff
  3. You can get pads to prevent flat spotting, quite popular with the classic car guys. Jeff http://flatstoppers.com/
  4. Yep thats the one for a UK with Auto box.... nice one buddy. Jeff
  5. Just to echo the what said by others, could be a mistake but sending you five year old tyres is bad, not illegal I might add, but refuse them on the basis their shelf life is almost spent, was it a dealer or private sale? Jeff
  6. No, the UK auto rad has cooler for the gearbox in both side headers and the import auto rad only one side, the UK does have an additional cooler in the nose area but that is for the power steering, the oil cooler for the engine on UK cars is bigger than imports. Of course you can fit a manual radiator but will need to fit a separate new auto box cooler which actually is not a bad thing. Jeff
  7. OAT anti freeze ! oh no, not correct, old style Bluecol is more than enough quality and spec wise, also a manual rad will leave him with no cooler for the autobox. Jeff
  8. Oh my gosh that will be a disaster of epic proportion for them, be run away inflation and large scale money printing to keep ahead of the devalued currency, be like the old days in Germany and needing a wheel barrow to carry the money to buy a loaf of bread....and.... the wheel barrow gets stolen leaving the money behind ..
  9. Well as I understand it be it Deputy Prime Ministers Matteo Salvini and Luigi Di Maio pushing for an increase in the budget deficit in order to fund social welfare projects and tax cuts which considering they are only second to Greece in the " up the river without a paddle" situation and in contravention of EU the funding agreements they signed up to, could be seen as reckless, bloody minded or even brave and forward thinking, who know`s which?? But equally they must still balance the books as it were, a case could be argued that you need to "acumulate to speculate" but I kind of think it will be more a case of "you reap what you sow" with both Italy and Greece... ..the future is not bright for either of them, actually I think poverty is overstated these days in the western world, when you see youngster`s protesting on the streets, masked up, wearing designer jeans and doing selfies on the latest I phone, it sort of counters their point eh? Jeff
  10. Not a dig, but have seen a good few of these polls on line lately all with similar outcome. What I also see is strong comments from leavers making there argument for their vote to leave. Now ask the same question in a room full of people, oddly the leavers become very quiet, that keyboard gives a level of anonymity not available in person.... just saying, not having a go.
  11. Give that man a round of applause well said buddy, putting the feelings into words can be a problem but you have hit the nail on the head with all what you have said... well done ! Jeff I am on troll alert so be warned
  12. Agree Si ! Jeff
  13. Just have to ask as it not often they fail, are you sure you need a replacement one? have you tried linking it out on the base to see if the horn works? it is really common fault to loose the cable from the steering wheel horn push to the relay, rewired scores of them over the years. Jeff
  14. There is a used cylinder on e-bay from a jap breaker specialist around £120 from memory, or failing that a reseal kit for yours will be around £25 (rather than £300 for new) and is simple to do ( tech thread link on how to below) discs on e-bay from Mtec or brake depot ( £110 ish for fronts with mintex pads) , good price and quality. Don`t be afraid of ebay stuff, these days many, many traders use e-bay as an addition to their shop fronts. 15. Yeh your correct Gaz, holding on to grudges is pointless and I have no beef with the guy now, in fact why would I ? and not taking away the fatc he is a survivor, having made it through the highs and lows in business, the crash and recession of 2008 and on to today in what is undoubtedly a shrinking market to boot !! but I saw a very different side to his character, more than most of his customers did / do ... just saying. Jeff
  16. I used to buy loads off Luke in the early days too, right up until the day he had a massive rant at me for advertising body kits on my webpage, demanding to know where I was getting them from ?? he ranted on at length about us been trading partners and how dare I sell the same product as him, he further went on to demand I stop selling the body kits and how would I like it if he started doing mechanical work on zeds ?? I paused and said I buy the kits of you Luke...? he was silent. I later heard from a body kit manufacturer in Birmingham that Luke had been using him to make copies of other peoples kits but changing say one part to make it unique to his range... mark of the man guys, he later started advertising he undertook mechanical work...... did I ring him and have a rant...NO ! confident that my business would be able to survive this :wacko:I just stopped dealing with him and never have since. Jeff
  17. Yeh maybe, I think it looks bad though, near every car I have test driven from a dealer is running on fumes and once( many years ago ) we even ran out of fuel from a TVR dealer as he drove to a garage to put some in, he was so not bothered that it was inconveniencing me as I was on a lunch break I walked, he lost the deal over a small easily avoidable issue, if a private seller mentions a car is a daily or the mileage will go up as it is used and again is on fumes when you view the car I wonder if that is how it has been run all of the time....just hate it, running a car on the top half of the tank is exactly the same cost as running on the bottom half is it not? Jeff
  18. Never get it with selling + £10k cars with only a few quids worth of fuel showing on the gauge, smacks of little real interest in the car and more just in the sale. ...Bad. Jeff
  19. Yes was me and yes sound like you looking for a new damper buddy. Jeff
  20. Ah the good old Luke charm eh, he is good at it ! :shifty: Jeff
  21. Well not so much closed down, but saw an opportunity to take early semi -retirement so after 20 years hung up my UK Z spanners and headed for the sun.. Jim is definitely you man for any specialist work. Jeff
  22. It is designed to be left in there so makes sense to add it to fresh oil if you can, that said that is not absolutely necessary, make sure your running the right oil too, any good brand 10w 40 semi-synthetic is spot on, do not be tempted to go for fully synthetic. Jeff
  23. Oh you are so close to the old Zedworld workshop too, just 10 miles !! shame Jeff
  24. No, Zcentre work out of the owners house in Nottingham, the workshop they use for mechanical work is not a 300zx specialist but a 4x4 specialist, enough said. Jeff
