  1. If the gauge reads low then it is not necessarily down to low oil pressure! The sender unit is known to fail and this shows up when the engine has warmed up. It will read the correct pressure from start-up but soon drops to zero once you've been driving a while. The sender is easy to replace but expensive - around £90 IIRC..... Richard:cool3:
  2. Welcome to the club Rick (I guess that's your name mate!!) - and good luck in your search. You'll find plenty of advice on here, along with the possibility of a couple of members' cars for sale. Richard:thumbup:
  3. I agree Baz - and I do hope your mate DOES catch up with the thieving little scrotes. It'd teach them a lesson.....:2guns: Richard:sad:
  4. Not my thing as they are a bit too angular for the 300zx. But if you want some then buy those - IIRC the 350z is the same wheel fitment (well, I know that stock 350z wheels do fit nicely on a 300zx) Richard:thumbup:
  5. I agree with Jim.... .....911 is a superb driver's car but for practicality every day I'd have to say the BMW. Richard:biggrin:
  6. Not me! I was born on a Friday 13th and I've never been worried about it - in fact I consider it lucky!!! Richard:shuriken:
  7. Hi Gary, your shorty is a fantastic looking car as it is mate - but I reckon you can't go wrong with a set of bigger wheels. Although no bigger than 18s though.... Richard:cool2:
  8. Welcome to the club Kiff.... .....and judging by a few of the pic I have seen from Down Under, you fellas have some damn nice cars as well mate!! Richard:chef:
  9. Unless the fella actually had first hand experience (so to speak) how can the woman possibly justify doing that....?? Assuming it was a women of course - who knows? It could have been the man's jealous gay lover.... It is a girly-blue coloured Pug after all..... Either way, the person who did that is a nut-job and should be locked in a padded room for their own safety. A completely OTT reaction IMO...:mad2: Richard:wacko:
  10. Happy birthday mate!! Richard:rockon:
  11. Moved to "non-Z related....." Richard:tt2:
  12. That's fine for a zx mate; it's a semi synth but it does the job! Richard:cool2:
  13. Hi Mark, It's a well debated subject, that of engine oil as brands etc tend to be personal preference. BUT your garage is not giving you good advise - Nissan specified a 10w40 semi-synthetic when the car was first sold so a mineral oil is way too inferior! At the very least you should stick with the Nissan recommendation; but engine oils have moved on since the early 1990s and a fully synthetic has superceded the semi as the performance car's choice. Stick with a decent brand, and has a minimum viscosity rating of "40" when hot (eg 0w40; 5w40 or 10w40 - they all rank the same once the engine has warmed up as the first number refers basically to cold viscosity) and you won't go wrong. Richard:chef:
  14. You're no outcast Allan - you're part of the furniture around here mate......:tt2: But you're right about the ZX bug though; once it bites you its venom spreads through your veins and you have just got to have one!! Richard:devil:
  15. Looking great there Paul!! Richard:cool3:
  16. Wise words there Jane - I haven't been in the situation myself sut that makes perfect sense...... Richard:sorcerer:
  17. Nice pics Phil.... .....I have seen these zeds in the flesh and whilst the "collector's zed" is good, the 99-spec'd car is superb!! Richard:cool3:
  18. My thoughts exactly....... ......and he also looks like a trader so he must be very careful not to fall foul of the same of goods act! Richard:no:
  19. LOL - don't worry Leo. I can move this to the "private" forums....... .....if you send me the web address and sign me up for free.....:w00t: Richard:wink:
  20. I'm sorry I can't help either - but on the surface your car looks like a nice example. And I do like the pearl white!! As you're kind of in the midlands, I'd suggest getting your car to Jeff and co at Zedworld for a thorough going over. Since it's 20 years old now, you'd have to expect some paint/body repairs etc at some point in its life. But if you're worried then at least Jeff will give your car a proper appraisal. Richard:chef:
  21. Welcome to the club Sheppy - and I can echo what my learned friend has said!! Great call Ian - well remembered mate!! Richard:sorcerer:
  22. LOL - don't accept anything less than a fiver:wink: But getting serious and back on topic, you haven't mentioned what she did for a living before maternity leave. If she has (had) a full time job, then for me the first step would be to ask her employers about flexible working arrangements. For example like working part time to begin with; or working from home a day or two each week if circumstances permit. Whilst the law has changed (for the worse IMO but that's another topic:sweatdrop:) to potentially facilitate flexible working hours for parents of babies and young children; do bear in mind that her boss has no legal obligation to agree. However an employer does have to "consider" each application and should present a legitimate reason as to why they refuse - like why it is detrimental to their business. Like I said - it's down to the employer's reasoning and discretion so don't expect an immediate "yes" and do be prepared for disappointment if they say no. But if you don't ask you don't get! Finally if I have not said so before, congrats on your new addition. And good luck! Richard:cool2:
  23. Try DVLA's own website first - if the combination is available you'll get it a lot cheaper than from a dealer. The dealers add a massive mark-up on the plates when they sell them...... Richard:cool2:
  24. Nice one Dave - and thanks for your continued support mate!! Richard:cool3:
  25. LOL - there's always one......:tt2: But back on topic there was no such storm down here! It was warm and sunny pretty much all day in the Chilterns.......:winkiss:
