  1. Looks great fun and cheap too
  2. I think it was more of a case of an older program like cakewalk pro audio 9 didnt have any patches to communicate with windows 10, ie cant find a suitable driver for the midi out, so he had to go back to using another laptop with windows 7. I just feel that half the updates are useless in real terms and find i get most of my issues on my laptop after a windows update, so i have turned the auto update feature off and its been fine, touch wood lol
  3. Im reluctant to upgrade to windows 10, as my colleague updated and now cant use certain music programs because the software update isnt available yet
  4. Mine will be finished by then, with new wheels and polished to the hilt and all the little bits to make it look spanking  But i will attend again for the weekend on the stand even if we already have enough cars. Again once we have an idea of numbers and we happen to surpass the quota we could open a poll with pics of the candidates to be voted by the members. Better to have too many to chose from and get a good broad spectrum of the marque to show
  5. Only UK zeds had a precat on the pass side, Japs only have the normal cats two at the end of the downpipes under the gearbox
  6. My bad too lol, of course you need the slot for the seatbelt to pass through the door card into position :thumbup1: I changed mine to UK panels and moved the seat belt to the Pillar, so been a long time since i had Jap door belts lol
  7. The slot is in the wrong place lol, the plastic cover utilises that screw on the end there
  8. Happy Birthday Dave and a great present indeed  apart from the car lol :whistling: but should be great fun
  9. Getting all the variants of the Z32 on a stand would be ideal and has been mentioned in the past, hopefully we can get more interest and commitment from any members who would like to show their car in the above mentioned options
  10. AndyP would be be best placed for the exact amounts, JAE the club pay for the pitch, marquee, power, tables and chairs, food, refrigeration I would say around £1500 from past JAE's NEC the stand area is free for the club, accommodation, barriers and promotional material makes up the cost, of which i personally cannot hazard a guess. PLI ( public liabilty insurance) is fairly high, but a legal requirement for the club when attending such events.
  11. Choosing the cars for NEC was put forward in a thread to see if any member would be interested, the proviso though is that the car remains for the full weekend from set up and your time on the stand, which i guess then ruled alot of interested parties out. We were lucky enough to have had 4 great examples to show for the weekend, unfortunately Lee didnt make it for reasons we are all aware of. We are able to accommodate more and get a larger stand, but the commitment would need to be made early on and follow through. 2014 was the first year we tried showing at the NEC and after a great weekend and interest, it was deemed a valuable tool for aiding the promotion of the marque and the club. Showing at the NEC isnt the financial issue, but accommodating the owners for the weekend is a large cost, but one that is necessary to attract members to show their cars in the first place. JAE has always been a bone of contention, but lack of a dedicated NEO or JAE specific team recently has been an issue in moving forward to make it a better experience for the members. Yes we could have flashing lights and music, play movies or video games, but its supposed to be a social event, drinks and chat etc.. I personally dont think that JAE will raise the Z32 profile as all the Japheads there already have their direction and i dont think as many members of the public attend as they used to in the past. Shows like Beaulieu are perfect as the site lends itself to petrol heads in every way, in August, usually great weather to boot, which really makes a big difference IMO. JAE in mid September up North in a field in a tent, doesnt really do for me anymore. The first JAE i went to was Mersea island at the end of August in 2008 and the weather was fab, which made the whole weekend enjoyable and back then we had a BBQ some tables and chairs and that was it. Its the members who make a great weekend along with the weather, i personally feel JAE has had its day, but we as a club will still have a stand for our members who want to attend, but no point in spending a couple of grand for a handful of people to to camp for the weekend lol Any suggestions for an event we can either host or attend is always welcomed
  12. We have been there and worn the Tshirt, where to start with events :whistling: Jae and NEC cost the club alot of money, but dont forget JAE has moved further North and now for this year even more costly to members for the tickets fuel etc so if members choose not to go, its not the clubs fault for poor attendance. JAE is a Jap car event and we attend as a club and apart from forcing members to go, what do you expect us to do? NEC helps promote the club and has attracted new members, so although its not a meet, its an event which is considered a worthwhile campaign. Cost of banners for national and regional events, advertising is free as part of the traders fee, so we dont get income from advertising. We are looking at a dedicated 300zx event for the summer but there are generally too few numbers to host several events, so we try to have a stand at any event an REO can organise. REO's are responsible for arranging regional meets or monthly get togethers, but im sure if you look back a through the last few years, getting the numbers to attend is truly disappointing and frustrating. The bank balance is not what it used to be a few years ago and we also have to make sure that we can afford the hosting for the foreseeable until the coffers are repleted.
  13. They were actually 26mm, they were originally on mine, till i changed to TT calipers and discs. The circumference is the same, its the depth of the disc you need to measure. The TT discs are 30mm
  14. All the best Tom, have a good one
  15. Still looking, sorry guys, im sure i have it somewhere lol
  16. The knock sensor is a known common fault on these cars and like a fair few including mine, the signal from the sensor to the ecu can be triggered by a knackered sensor or broken wire, the easiest solution has always been to do the resistor mod, therefore fooling the ecu into thinking all is well. This is by no means the best solution on a high powered zed, being constantly pushed to its limits, however for a daily or weekend runner perfectly acceptable until the chance arises to change the sensor. Highly unlikely a dodgy coil pack is to blame, a new set of correct heat plugs wouldnt go amiss, but i doubt the code will be rectified until the sensor is either replaced or bypassed with the resistor. If your car is up to temp, then look at the temp sensor, the ecu is obviously reading the incorrect figure and therefore compensating, which is why your your idle is too high, also IACV as you are aware should be around 14% at idle, so before adjusting anything yet, i would check your injectors and plugs, coil pack and temp sensor plugs for corrosion, otherwise you are going to struggle to maintain a good idle if you have some missing. The temp sensor and resistor mod will likely sort you idle :thumbup1:
  17. Is that your tank set up in the photobucket pics? I got a freshwater tropical set up, only a marina 60 but the kids love it and i find it therapeutic, would love a proper salt water tropical set up but maintaining it is a pain in the ass lol
  18. Ive seen a list somewhere, but not sure its specific per panel etc, will see i f i can find it again lol
  19. Happy Birthday mate, have a good one
  20. Looks good Lee for a spare lol, i agree far to good to break
  21. They will all light using bulbs Andy, but the polarity on the rev and fuel side are different, yes you could change the led bulb to the same polarity so they all light up, but you will find two will not work when plugged back into the car, cos in reality the polarity is different from the feed onto the copper tracks for some reason. Give it a go lol
