Anybody help out here ?? Running Windows 10. Outlook as my email. All is good except for one wee annoying thing ??

For example;

I power up my desktop, all good. Open MSN and alls good. Go to this forum, or facebook, or another few forums I frequent and do the signing in, password and tick the box for remembering me ?? It doesn't !!

So I go here, leave here and go to, say Facebook, gotta sign in to Face book. Leave Facebook and come back here, gotta sign in again ???

Only started doing this since a week or so ago ? Used to switch on the PC and when it loaded up I was already signed in to here, Facebook etc ?

Automatic update is enabled, so has it updated and something not quite right ? Or summit else ?

I know its niggly, but its a pain !! Any advice gratefully appreciated ! OH ! Just done a full virus scan, disc scan, defrag, registry fix etc and l is good there ?

Answers in idiot proof mode please !! :w00t: Cheers,

For some reason your computer is not saving cookies, what browser are you using? chrome?

If on chrome goto chrome://settings/

Click advanced options and then click "Content settings" under privacy.

Make sure the top box "Allow local data to bet set" is checked

I can provide screenshots if you are struggling

Internet explorer on windows 10 is called edge, do yourself a favor and install chrome.

To check if you have cookies enabled click the three dots in the top right corner, and click settings. Scroll down to advanced settings (and click it) and scroll down again to cookies. check that the drop down menu says "Don't block cookies".

If it does say that then i cant help you, just install chrome :)

Internet Explorer on Windows 10 is actually called Internet Explorer.

Microsoft edge is a separate product line and set as default but Explorer is still available if you look for it.

I really don't think that Alan would have specifically searched and installed internet explorer so i am assuming he means edge which is pre-installed and has a simelar E logo.

No offense to Alans technical ability of course :P

Each to there own, I use a combination of firefox and ie explorer.

At the moment i'm using explorer on windows 10.

I use chrome because 1. I use lots of computers and chrome will migrate all my setting bookmarks extensions etc when i log in anywhere else and 2. it just has much superior customisation (as i make my own themes for everything) and extensions which help with websites i frequently use.

But everyone has their preference.

Im reluctant to upgrade to windows 10, as my colleague updated and now cant use certain music programs because the software update isnt available yet

I was also, there are some programs that still rely on windows 7 (which customise the actual OS so i can understand) but any standalone programs (ie most programs you will ever use) will work on windows 10. You don't need update any apps really as it works the same as other OS's

There really isn'y much advantage imo so its really up to personal preference, everything windows 7 can do windows 10 can do and vice versa

I think it was more of a case of an older program like cakewalk pro audio 9 didnt have any patches to communicate with windows 10, ie cant find a suitable driver for the midi out, so he had to go back to using another laptop with windows 7.

I just feel that half the updates are useless in real terms and find i get most of my issues on my laptop after a windows update, so i have turned the auto update feature off and its been fine, touch wood lol

Ah could be, as i said it is not a world of change, just a facelift really, if you are happy with the old style then sure stick with it.
