How to power up my dash clocks??
You can use a 12v power supply, i have a bench one i use, but its fiddly testing all the dash leds as two of the 4 are on a different supply plug in the back of the dash, ie the temp and speedo will light by using probes on the bulb holder housing, but the other two wont, if you use the metal legs at the bottom of the dash that will only light the forward facing leds, so you can make up a little loom from some old dash plugs and wire up only the light feed feeds and connect to the power supply. I usually test each section on the bench when doing conversions then plug into the car to do a full test:thumbup:

Cambelt advice
Basically you need to lock up the flywheel to stop it turning when undoing the crank bolt, take out starter and use a large screwdriver or pry bar into the teeth of the flywheel to stop it turning, alternatively can be done with an air impact wrench iirc Second method is to lock up the cams together with the belt still in place, there is a write up in the faq section by JeffTT

Engine Hoist and Stand
A bit overkill on the stand, our engines about 250kg so dont need it so big, but if you have the space then go for it. I bought one a few years ago and agree, the wheels on both the stand and hoist do make it hard to maneuver on rough concrete, i wished they used heavy duty rubber castors, like on flightcases :thumbup1: but i guess if the engine is on the stand for some time, then it would create a flat spot making it harder to move lol

respray costs ?
I had a friend of the family spray mine, so i prepped the and primed the car, took all the bits off, he painted it, we colour sanded, he compound and buffed. I supplied the paint, was £45 a litre and used 3 litres and he charged me £500  He did a great job, but as its been stood for a year under a car cover, i have some colour sanding and buffing to do and have some craze/cracks in the bumpers, so im going to re spray them myself in the workshop. It took him about 3 days to paint and another day of compound and polishing and putting back together. For what i paid i cant complain and as all the main panels are near spot on, im happy to re-do the little bits that i want right and will end up with a really good finish :thumbup1: It is by no means a perfect show finish, but it will be close and after nearly 4 years of being in primer i will be happy just to be able to polish her instead of rubbing down lol

Hi from Derby
Welcome to the club Adam, ive not seen that one before and personally wouldnt pay that much for someone elses idea of a modded zed, however getting a real low mileage virtually unmolested zed imported is another matter as i concur with my colleague above
