  1. Having done many dozen of pods and dashes the smd 5led are the wrong orientation for the light diffusers behind the dials, so now I use an led strip around the inside of the binnacle and a single smd 501 bulb to light the needles. The single led is short enough to stay below the leg of the diffuser and the strip offers an even light with no bright or dead spots. i used to use 5way LEDs (before smd) but proved unreliable in the long run.
  2. Just remember you cant get an off the shelf led for the wiper symbol and the hazard switch, also remember light colours like red and white, will illuminate the dash clocks fine pretty evenly, blue and darker colours you need to add a strip or more to eliminate the black spots, also there would be no complete kit without the need to solder to change the on/off leds from amber :thumbup1:
  3. Happy Birthday mate, have a great day
  4. :scared: thats a good price for the whole respray then, must be at least 3 litres of paint
  5. The cost of materials is a big chunk of any spray job, i bought a litre of 2k paint and primer and a few other bits to respray my lads scooter and that little lot cost £80 and thats without my labour lol. So a couple of hundred quid for a bumper is a pretty good price considering the prep :thumbup1: The paint for my yellow zed is £45 per litre, so you can imagine some colours, just for the paint make a big hole in the budget before anything is even done to it lol I went to one spray shop who just looked at the 99 spec bumper and quoted £400, needles to say i wont be going there lol
  6. Nice one Eric, good to have a knowledgeable European member on hand
  7. RIP Terry, i used to love his Euro vision commentaries
  8. Happy Birthday Daz, hope all is well with you, have a great day
  9. Happy Birthday Daz, hope all is well with you, have a great day
  10. Unplug the connectors, you will likely find some green corrosion on a couple of pins like i did on mine. My horn like yours went off constantly and after putting it off by just removing the fuse, my right headlight used to come on on its own, so after biting the bullet, i found the culprits, cleaned up the terminals and didnt have a problem after :thumbup1:
  11. I think it suits a black zed, as it doesnt stick out in your face so much :thumbup1: great photos as usual
  12. In this weather, i dont envy you lol
  13. Yes a wind turbine blade from Vesta on the IOW :thumbup1:
  14. There is lol, right behind the symbol, FYI there are only 4 illumination bulb holders, although the holder is the same colour for the fuel light, it should only come on when the fuel is low and the signal sent to it.
  15. The symbol is also the fuel light, if you look at the temp symbol, the fuel symbol should look the same when lights on, it just looks in the photo, brighter than normal, ie looks like the fuel low light is on. The hazard and wiper switch need to be soldered to two prongs, its in the dash led write up :thumbup1: so no pcb board to worry about
  16. The aircon pod actually uses the smaller T3 neo wedges and the light pod uses the T5 and in you dash pic, why is the fuel light on lol The wiper symbol is another story as is the hazard symbol.
  17. Dont forget the black hatch rubber mouldings along the bottom edge, they can often be hard, if yours are still in good nick, worth taking off if you havent already lol
  18. Well 17 yes's so far, im sure we will have plenty to choose from when it comes to numbers being decided and whittled down to the best options to be shown to represent the club. Lets get a reality check here, nothing has been decided yet, all entries will be voted and considered, regardless of whether you personally think your car meets the required grade to show, also lets not forget, this is not a car meet, where like minded members get together and chat about each others cars, its to show the best the club has to offer and what can be achieved with what we consider one of the best Jap cars out there. Help promote the marque and raise awareness of the Z32 to a wider audience. So dont fret yourself on what you think might need doing to your car to get it up to show standard, rather ask yourself, would you be proud to show your car as a great example, in front of a crowd of tens of thousands
  19. Happy Birthday, all the best
  20. They are a different story lol, the pass light switch doesnt have a bulb or a feed, series 2 cars had an illuminated arrow on the drivers window switch, so both have to be modified and adapted to light. Mirror switch again no light bulb or feed and has to be modified to light. Also the amber leds need to be desoldered from the board and replacing with 3mm leds if you want to replace them too. Check out the led stuff in the tech section, im sure i did some write ups :thumbup1:
  21. Neo T3 and T5 leds for the pods http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Red-SMD-LED-T3-Neo-Wedge-12v-Interior-LED-Bulb-/262244324166?hash=item3d0efad346:g:BSYAAOSwFnFV~An7 and T10 (501) leds for the dash http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-5-SMD-LED-501-T10-W5W-PUSH-WEDGE-CAPLESS-BRIGHT-PURE-XENON-SIDE-LIGHT-BULBS-/111778089393?var=&hash=item1a067e49b1:m:mJzYrMGxd_y3GaNhFcTv98A
  22. Welcome to the club, nice looking zed, very tidy
  23. Cant access the pics Daz
  24. He is cute lol, but having a lab ourselves and dont get me wrong, she is the most docile adorable lab you could hope for, but im sick of dog crap in the garden ruining the grass, the dog hairs in the house and dog smell generally if shes been in all day. She is getting on now at 11 years old and we have both agree that when she goes, there will be no more dogs. We are lucky that my other half's sister has a dog and looks after ours when we go away and in the summer the dog is happy being in the garden all day long, its the winter that bugs me, she rolls around the mud like a pig in shit and then walks it into the kitchen into her bed and it just winds me up lol Good luck with your new addition and as much as i like dogs, i wouldnt have another, we already have 3 cats too , they all drive me mad, in and out at different times and scratching on the door to come in, ive done my time
  25. Dropping like flies this year RIP :scared:
