Moman Dials anyone?
Take a look in the tech faq section, i put a post in there long ago about dash led conversion, but i use smd led strips now instead of the ones in the pics in the section. Requires taking the complete dash binnacle apart, clocks out leaving you with the bare white carcass etc.... Also regarding fitting the dial faces, they are a thin piece of rigid film and if they were not stuck down evenly on the face of the existing dial face then the needle would catch and not sweep smoothly. I fitted some of the earlier versions years ago and came across this issue, especially after using superglue the first time lol

speedo not working
Hi Rich the speed sensor is in the gearbox and the kph convertor is the little black aftermarket box behind the dash binnacle. Where did you take the feed for the digital speed meter? Here are some coloured wiring diagrams which may help you see the route from the source http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?151003-Colour-wiring-diagrams

I would imagine they will be well made, but remember these stick over the top of your original dial faces, so you need to be mindful of a couple of things, dont get the ones where you need to take the needles off to fit, the speedo will likely not work properly again as the needle has to be re-seated under load, ie ign on, also make sure you use a semi flexible glue, ie not superglue which dries rock hard, but something like uhu or even pritt stick. Once in place make sure they have stuck completely flat, the tell tale area to watch for is on the rear of the needle as it sweeps round the dial. It has been known for the face to lift and the needle to stick, so take your time and be methodical in fitting. Also as a final thought, once you have used a glue on the old dial faces and you change your mind, you will need a new set as they will be ruined, visually

Make sure they do it with the 180mph and not 160, nice looking dials in the standard black format :thumbup1:

Found out some history about my zed
Check to see the targa drains havent been welded up, there should be an outlet under where the rear of the door is, if its not there then water from the targa has been building up with no where to go and causing the the issue http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?178064-Toms-Z-progress-Thread&highlight=targa+drain+holes

Front upright
How did the MOT go? Im going from past experience lol with MOT stations, but as has been said it depends where you go and how he feels on the day
-
What did you do to your zed today?
As its dead space on the dash, i prefer them there than running down the pillar, which for me would be off putting in my eye line

Front upright
Your tension arm looks to have a poly bush and looks fine, the gaitor on the shock being shot, could let in grit and dirt and eventually effect your shocks performance but but unlikely to be causing the clonk, sounds more like a movement issue, ie drop link movement You would fail an MOT though on the shock gaitor
