  5. Must be something about going to Coventry lol, my engine started knocking like a fat kid at a sweet shop door on the way up two years ago, got as far as Winchester from Portsmouth, it managed to get me home though. Shame the autobox isnt as strong as the engine, but i feel your pain
  6. no its held on with a metal clip
  7. pry off map light housing and unplug, simples :thumbup1:
  8. great for parking, just bounce it in
  9. Great news on the pass and i have only ever had one problem with the emissions, when the tester couldnt find it on the system and failed it using 350z emissions allowances  needless to say he had to pass it when pointed out to him and never had an issue since or with the HID's, i guess there are a fair few of inexperienced new testers out there who take every word in the manual as gospel and use their own interpretation when they dont really understand what its telling them
  10. Hi bud, there are two potentiometers (variable resistors) on the speedo board, you can drill a small hole in the top of the dash binnacle and adjust the resistor to recalibrate check here http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?36601-Speedo-Calibration-Pots NB i may have done the led conversion but dont touch any workings of the gauges or stick MPH stickers on :whistling:
  11. Well done and a great cause, would love to try it one day, but belly goes funny at heights lol, i remember looking over the top of the Eiffel tower and what a feeling, couldnt imagine jumping off it though, like in the James Bond movie :scared:
  12. Thats because Jeff would have fitted a new matrix and not have to worry about a bypass lol, lets be fair, the bypass is supposed to be temporary to keep the car on the road until a new matrix is fitted. Mine went one winter and drove it bypassed all the way into the summer when i decided i would like some heat back for the next winter, so drove for several months with no problems, apart from no heat
  13. No, i had mine bypassed for several months during the summer and had no issues with overheating :thumbup1:
  14. The engine bay is obviously not great looking so found a random pic on the net lol
  15. Its a left hand drive pic Gary, so the AC pipe is visible :thumbup1: Bit of a crap add if he cant get the same car pictured to sell
  16. Great news
  17. You say replaced and no change, make sure the fuse hasnt blown again, if it has then you have an issue somewhere. Hazard switch is held in the pod with 2 screws and many over the years have cracked screw holders, either from over tightening or using the wrong screws, sothe housing of the pod actually hinders the switch movement. There is a TCU which has part of the dash light circuit incorporated, to enable the dimmer for eg, its possible a track has burnt out on the board and if your fuse has blown again a likely culprit. The Time control unit is located behind the drivers kickpanel next to the fuel pump fuse near to the bottom of the door.
  18. Check your fuse first in the drivers footwell, top row third along, the rear light module is exactly that, just for the rear lights
  19. Happy Birthday Dean have a good one
  20. It is also likely that you have some corrosion on the relay board behind the drivers kickpanel, near the fuses, this link shows which plug to look at for the windows http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=98962&d=1467668053
  21. From what i recall, the window amp controls both windows, drivers switch completes the loop. Take the switch apart, only 4 plastic lugs and see if there is anything obvious on the board below the switch track and check for dry solder on the pins part. Check out B48-49 in the colour wiring diagrams http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=89377&d=1438023474
  22. Its a counter weight, i got rid of mine years ago :thumbup1: serves no purpose other than supposedly give some even weight distribution between front and rear of the car
  23. I dont think they are looking for our heroes lol, more like Batman or superman
  24. Looking good, I've only just finished mine although a few bits to do the finishing touches. It's great to have a separate space away from the house to work in
