I tried to get in last year without one (none of us had them then!) and I had to should at the bloke on the gate for half an hour before they'd let me in.

Souinds like a good 'un and worth somewhere around the asking price. I guess a modified car like that might be more likely to go wrong than a standard one and you'd end up with an even bigger bill? Just playing Devil's Advocate really - it looks good.

Me and Mrs CD are thinking of moving house. We've seen a nice one - but it has a low ceiling in the living room - apparently we could get the floor scraped away. Does anyone know if this is a big job (ie approx cost) on a room approx 15X25 feet (lots of beams in the way too)? Also it has a thatched roof. It's just had some interim work but sounds like it's half way between the 25 year overhauls - doea anyone know what they cost, roughly? Cheers!

Ah, gotcha - £20 for the whole weekend makes sense. I should fill my spare seat with a fancy woman who's going to pay to get in anyway - and get in her, sorry, get her in, for nawt. That said, the Mrs might even come over briefly if I can get her in free.

Hi Jim Welcome to the club. It looks nice but it'd be useful to know more. Lots of cars for sale make big claims of big power and not all of them have it. There's a buying guide here and I'm sure someone who knows where it is can point you in the right direction - it's very useful.

A Mitsubish VR4 makes about 280bhp. I think the centre diff can cause problems though. Saab 95s are pretty impressive - especially the 250bhp one.

I've seen cars with those black and silver plates and I'm not a fan. Each to their own and all that but I think they somehoe look more obvious than a regular one simply as they're different.

Mine was bought over before the law changed. I think the SVA / ESVA costs more than £500 but that's only what I heard.
