I'm no expert but Google is and that's some sort of army transport plane C130.

Ola from Valencia!
Sorry Nick Rich is to blame really.

first zed too 20000 feet
No-where in the UK. Ben Nevis is roughly 5000 feet I think so we're talking aeroplanes / hot air baloons / bongs.

6ltr v8 z32 convertion
Pay to join - if you're serious about getting a 300ZX or putting a V8 in one it'll be the best money you ever spent.

Sorry....
No-one really looks at the cars anyway. It's just a big p1ss up really.

Bodywork? Maybe a change?
Nissan put the stone chip paint there for a reason! I wouldn't remove it myself.

Sorry....
http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/businesstraveler/tenday/UKXX0110?from=search_10day Still loooking good according to the generally reliable weather.com .... touch wood! http://www.met-office.gov.uk/lib/includes/fsssi/city/peterborough.html Not so good on the Met Office. It'll be more accurate by Thursday or Friday.

Yes, that's him!

6ltr v8 z32 convertion
MantaV8 has put an American 5.7L V8 in his. Several others are putting Infiniti 4.5L V8s in theirs I think.

Ola from Valencia!
Sounds good mate. Can't you have sex with a hooched up slapper from northern England or something? There's always some in any holiday resort. That's what I always try to do on holiday (and generally fail but it's fun trying). See you at the JAE?

Bodywork? Maybe a change?
Have to say I AM a fan of the 99 spoiler and that's what I'd go for if I ever changed the 'naked' look of mine.

Top end Z vrs EVO
There's Evos and there's Evos... Some make 400bhp odd as standard and I imagine they'd crucify a standard Zed all over the shop, especially at low speed. Evos are noisy and uncomfortable by comparison. Great for driving fast down a twisty road in the rain though.

EDIT: thinking about buying a 300ZX
The odd one gets converted to TT (big job!) but they all left the factory as NAs.

Snoopers / Road Angels?
Depends exactly what you want... Navigation? Fixed camera location by GPS? Lazer detection? I think radar's only used by Mini Gatso now and only two police forces use them. Speak to Legrath - I think he's pretty hot on that stuff. I'd go with Road Angel II / Road Angel Plus unless you want navigation as well.

Baby arrived.... at long last
Ohhh.. what an ugly tot! A tenner for the ugliest tot! Only joking - I always say that about babies. She looks great - congrats to you and Mrs B-M. :duffer:

EDIT: thinking about buying a 300ZX
We mainly have the 300ZX Z32 model (ran from 89 -94 in the UK and to 2000 in Japan). It comes in normally aspirated (NA) (about 225bhp) and twin turbo (TT) (about 280bhp) forms. It also comes in two seat (or SWB) and 2+2 (or LWB). Also(!) you can get it with targa roof or plain metal (also known as slick top). There are true convertibles too but they're all NA. No 4.5 was ever made by the factory. Uk are all TT 2+2 with leather. Imports vary. Big service at 60,000 miles / every five years. Autos are more common - the Japanese seem to prefer them. Try an auto - you might like it. Manuals tend to cost a little more. There's some buyers guides and models guides on here - someone cleverer than me can point you in the right direction.

Tyre advice
Keep the front tyres thin - 225 or 235. Wider ones seem to tramline more.

Coming to JAE this weekend? Got your club membership card yet?
It's not my job to be as confused as Nigel.

Coming to JAE this weekend? Got your club membership card yet?
Hmm.. I probably shouldn't have started this thread as it's confusing people. I think I was just unlucky last year - and I did get in anyway just by paying and shouting, no card was needed.

Alarm Sytems
I fitted Cat 1 to motorbikes for a year. I found Meta to be best as they didn't go wrong. I've had one on my car for nearly three years with no problems. I'd go for relaibility over 'bells and whistles' any day. If an alarm starts going wrong, it's a nightmare.

might advertise my Z at JAE
Love that car - never seen it in real life but it's one of my favorites from the pics.

Rough cost to thatch a roof and lower a floor?
It's already got a thatched roof. The seller's just had some minor bits and bobs done to the thatch. But I think in 10 years it'll all need replacing - just wondered what that'd cost. I think £10-15K sounds about right - only half the house is thatched so it might be less. It's listed so we can't just get it tiled.

Coming to JAE this weekend? Got your club membership card yet?
I needed mine last year (although we didn't have any!). It was very very difficult getting in without it. Maybe I was just unlucky?

Coming to JAE this weekend? Got your club membership card yet?
Sorry - not area rep, national / Steve. I'm not sure about giving the bloke on the gate a list as there are lots of gates and lots of blokes.

Coming to JAE this weekend? Got your club membership card yet?
EDIT - looks like I'm wrong - ignore this thread! D'oh! It's the biggest even in the Japanese car callendar. But if you want to be in the 300ZX.co.uk area (and you do!), you need your membership card that was with your membership pack. If you don't have it, I think your area rep can send you one if you PM them your address.
