gto and 300zx meet
Isn't the GTO what was badged the 3000GT in the UK and 4WD? Very nice if so. The FTO's the FWD one I think.

Has anyone worked in New Zealand?
My mate 'Chopper' and his wife are going there soon. It wasn't easy to get the work visas and he's a school teacher which is a job they're short of apparently. One form they had to complete cost £1K I think.

Merc CL500 - any good?
Eeeek! Very interesting mate - thank you. I have to say that does put me off. It's a shame because in the flesh, these cars look AMAZING. The size and presence is very impressive.

Blimey!
I honestly think ebay could work for your car Daz. You could give plenty of description and photos. It'd create a 'buzz' on car forums and the link would get spread about. (and if it doesn't work, I can snap it up for a song!)

Considering putting an OE 90-93 spoiler back on my car
Si, I can see you with a honking great carbon and ally wing, 8 inches wider than the car on each side ;)

Wheely Gutted!
I almost used one of these kits on my Oz - it looked pretty good. If there's no scraping or kerbing I'd be tempted to mask the tyres off carefuly and use aerosol Smoothrite.

off on honeymoon tomorrow
Sounds awesome - enjoy it.

Merc CL500 - any good?
Cheers mate, you're a gent   I don't think it'll be hapenning for a while (if at all!) but I'd really like one. I went to the Merc garage today and parked next to one - it made my 300 look like a nasty little plastic toy. It was £55K though! I'd be looking at the first of the new-shape ones if any (2000 onwards).

What do people think
Well good luck to you all. :duffer: I have to say I admire it, in the same perverse way I admire Escort vans with £8K stereos.

What do people think
I would add engine bays like yours Vinz are amazing - they impress car enthusiasts and non-car enthusiasts. But a small/medium amount of engine bay bling isn't going to impress anyone. Just my opinion!

What do people think
Controversial I know but I've never seen the point of blinging up the engine bay. It's a bit like shoving diamonds where the sun don't shine (if you'll 'scuse my French!) I'd spend the money on suspension, bushes, brakes etc. Just my opinion!

Merc CL500 - any good?
They used to be good. My old man bought a new E-class. It had to go back to the dealer 12 times in the first two years as it had so many problems. He got rid of it and got a Lexus which has had no problems. I've heard Mercs have really gone down hill these days. If something like that CL starts going wrong, it could cost big money. But it does look nice! They were £70K new so a 2001 car for £15K sounds quite good.

Merc CL500 - any good?
Sorry - not a fan of the SL - a bit 90s rap video IMHO. Plus it'd be twice as old for the money - 1997 rather than 2001 - and I wouldn't consider it on that basis alone.

Wear on inside of front tyre
I took my wheels off recently and put new (third hand!) ones on. When I took the front wheels off, one tyre had worn much more on its inside edge. What should I get done to stop the currect tyre wearing like that? Tracking? Something else? Cheers!

BMW X5 - Any good?
I speak to Niall Mackenzie (the bike GP racer - sorry to name drop) quite often. He had one. He said it was the best car he'd ever had. I think it was the 3 litre diesel too.

Merc CL500 - any good?
I noticed you can get a 2001 CL500 for £15K or there abouts. I don't have £15K to spend on a car but I'm always planning ahead. Anyone know if they're any good? 5 litre v8 and they look nice to me. I know Mercades have had issues of late so maybe they're expensive problems?

tyre pressure for 19"
I was getting a lift back from Cardiff today (200-odd miles). We checked the tyre pressures on my mate's Citroen. One had 4psi in it! Laugh? I nearly went to Ethiopia! Second class, of course.
-
tyre pressure for 19"
Andy Duff  had some clever formula based on an increase in pressure as the type profile (height) decreases. I'd say 36psi all round.

Happy Birthday to...............AndyP
Many happy returns Andy - have a great day :duffer:

Looking for local 300zx specialists
Hi there - welcome to the forum. You could try the Zen Garage in Horsham (Sussex). They're excellent. Not exactly on your doorstep but you're unlikely to find a place that's competent with 300ZXs very nearby.

350z
I think the one on Top Gear was pretty standard - and faster than the 350Z The 350 might be faster if it wasn't just a straight line race as the 300 would be on and off boost.
-
interest / how much would you pay for...
Mine does this anyway - it waits a bit then fades out. Dunno if it was standard or somoene's fitted it at some point.
