Hi everyone, after a lot of issues over the past few years and less and less time to spend repairing my Z...... I am contemplating giving up and breaking her...... This will be the end of my 17 years of Z ownership.... I found a folded over piece of sill lip under the drivers side front where the front wing is bolted onto the sill. It looks like someone has jacked the car on the lip or something has hit it from underneath. I will never jack her there for this very reason and it was very rusty where it was damaged. After stripping off the underseal today I have found i have lost about 20cm of the inner seal where it meets the floorpan, as well as a lot of the sh…

So a buddy of mine did well at the BMW show at the weekend securing him self some rewards for the effort put into his car and sent me some pics, I was rather taken aback when I saw the trophy`s Very, very nice quality and fitting to the occasion. Now take a look at the many car and trader ones I am very proud and appreciative to display even today in my office, and wonder with the exception of the lower cup one`s why they are made of plastic ? this when there was £25k in the club account ! now I get it that the Bmw one`s there are sponsored and so the club is not paying out full cost, but then the amount of prizes they gave out was huge compared to ou…

Hey all, After four years of being off the road, my Zed is now taxed, insured, Mot'd and actually running  Four years ago, I took the plenum off in order to do the water bypass, amongst other things. Just then, real life got in the way and the car was put on the back burner for a couple of years until life got back to "normal". With some sense of normality returned - I eventually got my act together and now have a running Zed - not perfect - but good enough for the time being. Here's a photo of my rear end...

Wanting people's opinions on improving the front of the car. More specifically, the side and indicator lights. So, I debated on just tinting them, maybe moving them and changing to something different. Possibly do some halo rings on the light cluster might be the easiest and cleanest look? Let me have your opinions

After 4 years of hiding I think it is time to show my z. Bought the car in 2014 which was a mistake but stuck to it and saved another scrappy i reckon. I will add mod details eventually for starters some pictures will do. So I got to thinking about the last 3 years as a 300zx Z32 Owner and realised just how many new friends I have made and mates I now have in the Zed community. All the way back to when Gazwoz offered me Purple Haze, my sweet Midnight Purple 98 TT in a deal against an old vinyl record collection I had stuffed in a cupboard and the few quid I had saved up. I think being the good guy he is, he knew after my many months in hospital I was desperate to get out on the road again and that one of his Zed’s was top of my list, Gazwoz made me an incredible offer and Thank God he did, a top bloke. Of course, I never would have found out about Gazwoz without the 300zx UK owners forum a…

Hi just purchased a jap 300zx tt manual and it vibrated terribly I was told by the person I brought it off that a friend replaced the engine in it and told him that he might have bolted the propshaft in wrong so I got it up on the ramp and compared my prop to some pics online and the middle looked wrong and the bolts were the wrong way round I have swapped it a couple of times and it’s a lot better but I ain’t sure if the back had been unbolted before so is there any standard marks on it I can go by or can it be clocked in and if so how is that done just seem to be chasing my tail here thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So went for an ATC assessment today, took the red car to Southampton with no problems. Finished the day, walked to the car, started it, foot on clutch, won't go into gear! Tried and swore for 15 mins, then checked clutch fluid and it's on minimum so I'm guessing it's got a leak. Nearest halfords is 7.8 miles away and it's raining badly. Do I walk 14 miles to take a chance more fluid will get it home or wait for the AA who will tell me the clutch has gone, then wait for a flatbed who will tell me they can't put the car on because the front bumper is too low? No how I planned my Friday afternoon/evening/night

What do people think of these? They look to me to be oem housings with hrand new 2018spec CHRAs. They should be awesome with very little lag. Are those new wastegates too? And still journal bearings? They would fit my build perfectly! I imagine they will be pricey though!

This was probably the best, and biggest 300zx meet the UK has ever had. So since we were talking about it on another post, I thought I'd create a thread specific to it. Here's a link to my Dropbox account which has around 135 photos from the meet, along with the videos that were made at the time. Obviously video technology has moved on a little. I've added all the videos to YouTube for ease of watching too. Dropbox Link Ferrybridge photos https://www.dropbox.com/sh/36de8inf0802qu8/AABogdEkq4nXllwg133XTAkwa?dl=0 YouTube videos

Currently my zed has no front indicators which needs fixing. The issue is that i have varient versions of zed parts that are not compatable so i'm looking to see whats needed and from where. My zed is a 1996 which had the older style front end. It is now fitted with a 99 spec original front bumper and new front indicator housings. my issue is that the bulb holders are different for the new housings and the plug on the loom is also different. I have found a harness adaptor that fits my currently loom but the bulb required is a double element and i can't find it anywhere apart from conceptz. Below is a few pictures of the various parts i have, …

Minus the engine I was testing all the electronics in my zed today and apart from a few blown bulbs my zed has developed a fault with the operation of the drivers window. It simply won't move. The passenger side one works perfectly and can be controlled from either door, also the door lockout button works. When you try the window switch you can hear some sort of motor clicking but it sound more like the lock actuator rather than window motor. To confirm this I removed the door card and disconnected the wires for the motor after which pushing the button I can hear the same actuator noise coming from the right side of the drivers door. All other el…

The Zed over the past day has refused to start. Until now it started within a second of turning the key. Now it turns over but refuses to start. Smells of fuel and the battery is six months old. I use the Zed 3-6 times a week to commute to work etc., but I suspect the starter motor has just died. Thoughts?

Had a pm recently asking about heater matrix job and so did a search on my data base of job photo`s and came across a set of pics for a matrix swap, I most likely did around 200 of these and have covered this a good few times here. That said with new members and owners joining maybe of interest for them and a reminder for the more "seasoned members" Today I still see some garages take out the dashboard to do this job, which is simply nuts...very accessible with the seat removed and doable in a morning, that said I got it down to around one hour but do not expect that on your first attempt, little tricky 8 mm fixing around the back of the pipes against the bulkhead,…

Boost controller all neatly wired up and working. I'm going to be setting the gain and hi/low boost settings this weekend. I've had a look at Legrath's tutorial but wondering what everyone's got theirs set to? I've had an EBC sat in my cupboard for years but only just got round to installing it. Heaven knows why I hadn't done it sooner! Boost jets are out, doing it the correct way.....although some would argue that a Haltech or Link with boost function would be the correct way. I don't want to increase performance (yet). That'll be after I fit 740cc injectors and have it rolling roaded on Nistune, so I'll be sticking to 14.5psi (1bar). So shouldn't feel massivel…

I have noticed that the black plastic on the trims either side of the windscreen is peeling on a lwb Twin Turbo. I believe they are expensive to replace so wondered if anyone had refurbished them to look like new by either shot blasting or chemically stripping and repainting the remaining chrome?

Chaps/ladies Ever since I’ve bought my car the reverse lights have never worked - bulbs all ok as is fuse etc Bought a reverse light switch last week and went to do it tonight As the old saying goes what a pig of a job. I’ve been on it 3 hours and still haven’t been able to do it. It’s definitely a faulty switch as I plugged the new one in and the lights work I can just about get a 19mm ring spanner on but there’s no way I can turn it whilst the car is on axle stands The switch is in such a bad position and every time I apply force the spanner slips Is there an easier way or tool to remove the switch? Or does the box need to be dropped Any help and advice…
