Steve and I now wish to put this situation behind us and move on. - - - Updated - - - Admin can you please close this thread.

Now if you've not seen what an impressive caliper this then Google Lexus LS430 monoblock, some people say they are better than similar sized Brembo's and being monoblock look a bit different in a good way! Also seem to very popular as a Porsche upgrade: http://944hybrids.forumotion.com/t7-ls430-big-brake-swap I bought a set about a year ago, made all the enquiries with Freakyparts, (big brake specialist), to get them fitted on my Toyota Estima but didn't get the chance to do it. I am.now thinking to send Freakyparts a Zed hub, the LS430 calipers, and either a Skyline R33 GTR / 350Z brake disc or perhaps even a 355mm 370Z brake disc to get the adap…

Just received this car cover today.... Hoping it will stop the weather getting to my car this winter. It fits well and it's 4 layer construction feels like good quality. I'll update this post with my findings over the next few weeks but if anyone is interested in getting one they have 10% off at the moment: https://www.stormcarcovers.co.uk/products/stormforce-car-covers-for-nissan?variant=665923789

If you have ever removed a Zed brake caliper for replacement or painting etc, I have always got annoyed by the brake fluid that can seep from the lines and caliper, recently I sent off a set of Brembo calipers to have painted by Brake Caliper Specialists in Nottingham so had this issue again. So rather than leaving the brake pedal half pressed with a weight or cling film in the brake fluid cap to create a vacuum I have worked out a better solution that avoids brake fluid dripping and creating a mess. 1) To stop the brake calipers from leaking fluid once you remove them buy four of these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/M10-x-1-0p-x-20mm-FINE-PITCH-HEX-SET-BOLTS-…

Not a particularly exciting thread, but anyone with OCD might like it. Had my original wiper arms refurbished years ago and they held up well, still look great. Always fancied a set of UK wipers. Well, a driver side anyway although to make sure they matched, I had both powder coated a matte black. Main issue was to get the plastic spoiler recoated. Took a lot of sanding down to get rid of all the chips and marks that it had picked up on its previous life. I did try using filler at first but decided to spend time smoothing it down completely rather than trying to fill tiny little prone areas. Here it is in its sanded state. Coated with…

Spotted about 10.30. Your rear bumper is flapping around a bit (driver side) looks like you're missing a bolt.

Early start tomorrow, taking all this down to Doncaster for a rebuild. Tight fit but that's a full engine split into its base components.

I was looking for the old Model Variations page (http://www.300zx.org.uk/model_variations.htm), but the link isn't working. Is there a replacement page on this site that I don't know about?

It turns out that the front near side brake line runs beneath the battery tray and sits on a shoulder of the inner wing. It's a moisture trap. There's a dog leg in the way the line is run that puts it right in the wrong place. On Wednesday last week on my way to Halfords to buy a car cover I was on the A3 and my brakes failed COMPLETELY ! The brake line has rusted through and let go with no warning. Mine's an auto so I had to click back to 2 and 1 from D and then into N and apply the handbrake. It's not something I'll want to repeat ! So I would urge everyone - particularly if your car has been standing a while like mine was - to check this line for corrosi…

On my Zed there is a single sub loom near the battery area with a square connector similar to an injector connector which has been left unplugged, anyone know the function of this? The sub loom is just to the right of the oil dipstick where it comes off the main loom, and is pretty much in-line with the balance bar if you're looking from the battery side.

Hello all My very post here so please be gentle (and i apologise if i inadvertently start a war off here) But back since when i was a little lad iv always liked the looks of a 300ZX, but what you want and what you get are 2 different things. Like wanting a 3 Litre Twin Turbo Zed and actually getting a 1.4 litre Honda Civic. While doing some research back in 2003 and having more enthusiasm about Japanese sports cars i came across the Toyota Soarer 2.5TT. After doing quite a bit of home work i bit the bullet and got one, and after selling it a year later i got another one. After selling that i got a Toyota Aristo 3.0TT (same as a GS300 but with the Supra eng…

Recently have had trouble with a misfire, problem was a combination of gunk in injector connectors and an out of spec S1 TT injector. Anyhow reading up on the S1 injectors found that the contact power feed to them was not a great idea by Nissan and came across this: http://twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/technical/view/1109134/Switch-injector-voltage-mod-in-1-2-3.html Has anyone done this?

I see many owners building big power cars and often fitting huge brakes.:scared: Thats great for posting threads on here and Facebook. But can you use them?? Can you drive and stop quick?? Personally i dont think you can......:innocent: So here is a chance to prove me wrong and make eat my words. In the style of "Street Outlaws" Im calling you out!!:tt2: Here is the challenge. Can you beat a 235bhp NA driven by an OAP?? Come to Donington. Aug 22 late afternoon for the evening track session. I can manage 10 laps at a time. How often in that 10 laps can you overtake me?? Once? Twice??

Often I can spend a lot of time trying to navigate nissan4u.com and not find what I’m looking for. So I thought I’d start this post to help people like me, who aren’t very good at looking up part numbers, utilise the knowledge and experience some of you amazing people have.

This may be hoping beyond hope but can anyone confirm if the rubbers for the rear three-quarter glass are available as a separate part ? There're obviously manufactured separately so perhaps they might be sourced from wherever Nissan sourced them ? Of course that assumes Nissan outsourced them :-) Has anyone tried with Nissan in Japan ? Thanks guys

Hi All, been a while since I've posted, new house purchase has done it's best to keep me away! The car lately has been idling terribly and stuttering badly when at low throttle and driving. At mid to full throttle, the car runs as well as it always has. all 6 cylinders run smooth at higher throttle. I know the engine has poor compression on one cylinder and has for quite some time, but I'm hoping to find another cause for the terrible low speed running I've finally got round to getting data scan connected and i'm just learning how to use it. I've attempted to adjust the AAC base idle but the car will still not idle with the screw all the way out. Also swapp…

in my previous thread about goodwood breakfast, and following on from some thread revivals and mention of calendars......... twice now I've been involved in photoshoots for club calenders where each region of the club was going to get a page, but nothing ever came of it once we drove round Winchester taking photos at various locations (from memory some of them were private land from the speed we drove in , photo'd and drove out) not sure who had the photos Bigh or Marco ? so the other time we turned up at a goodwood breakfast club ,back when they were less popular and about 10 of us got to park up at supercar sunday, but not so we could get a good photo. …

Another toy in the box to play with. kind of track orientated. Non turbo of course. Not too high tech so most of it can be done in my workshop.:thumbup1: usual motorsport basics. Some "out of the box" ideas/mods. Progress is slow as always, thats a problem with being old!!:scared: Everything takes longer. I was hoping for an outing in 2018.........probably not going to happen.. Most of you wont like it..............................
