  3. I have tried to remove the plastic cover to get to removing the interior rear view mirror .... but for the life of me, couldn't figure how it comes off (if it does). The 300ZX (1990) Nissan Service Maunal has nothing about removing the interior mirror. I'm sure it's an easy thing to do, and there must be some trick to it without ruining the headliner material or mirror cover piece. I will appreciate any advice or photos showing how to get the entire mirror removed. Thank you. 1990 300ZX 2+2 - 62,000 miles - No Winters!

  4. Hi Everyone these are probably stupid questions but I have found that there are two braid covered cables that go from the Catalytic converters through the transmission tunnel floor underneath the car have been chopped off with presumably wire cutters, and are just hanging underneath the car, Q1 : what purpose should they serve ? Q2 : Is it a problem that they have been cut Q3 :Is it possible to repair them ie: join them back together and if so how Real novice question I know but would appreciate some help I have also noticed that the bits of plastic either side at the front that attach to the front bumper are badly smashed what would they…

  5. I fear I'm acctually going to have to buy some of that UV dye for this job. My radiator will not fill up past 3/4 way, air bubbles stop it going any further - so the simple answer is there's a bloody great leak, and I guess the point it stops filling is at the very bottom of the top rad hose. I'm not sure if this is a common issue, but where am I likely to find the leak as I can't see where it's coming from out the bottom of the engine (again, this has me panicking it's making it's way down a cylinder bore). I'm going to be busy taking my thermostat off later as the car slightly overheated before I went back to Bulgaria, and I'm hoping to god this is the reason and n…

Wanting everyone's thoughts. Should I do the roof bars black or leave them body coloured? I'm completely in 2 minds as I like break up of the black (windows and targas) but then when I look at some to the cars that have done his, I like them too.

just dropping in to say hi to all, its been a long time since I've been on here. Lots has changed for me recently but all for the better. My daughter was born a few months ago and the three of us are now moving back to the UK in December so im going to have a bit more time to get out in the 300 and come to some meets. The 300 hasn't moved in a year so its going to need some attention. To celebrate this I decided to treat myself to a zed related present. https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C836820 Bring on the OCD restoration part 2

A huge thanks again to Ian for making this year's display so bloomin' awesome, thanks to Craig and co. for all the organising, thanks to all the exhibitors and everyone that managed to visit us over the weekend. More great memories forged with these cracking machines and some truly wonderful people. Enjoy.

Right guys and girls, I need some help diagnosing an ‘unusual’ fault with my Zed. The issue is that when breaking (e.g. coming to a stop at traffic lights) the revs drop to the point where the car cuts out. This is also noticeable when shifting from neutral to reverse (automatic) as shown in the attached video. [video=youtube_share;Q5uJ3az3pLc] The rest of the time it seems to run fine although I’ve noticed that if I’m coasting along and lightly touch the throttle, the revs drop down (below 500rpm) before climbing as I press on the accelerator. So far I’ve have a vacuum leak test and there’s no air leaks. Also had the codes checked which returned a c…

Now I appreciate some things are great for spares but this is a step too far and only a give away or the buyer pays a nominal. 38 bucks, glws !! :confused1:. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1990-NISSAN-300ZX-CRUISE-CONTROL-DEFROST-DIMMING-FOG-LIGHT-SWITCH-BUTTON-KNOB-OE/143011905183?hash=item214c2c7e9f:g:wP4AAOSwi-db6tCQ:rk:98:pf:0

Well now I have them.... any advice on fitting them and setting them up for height and preload? Let alone setting up the EDFC? This could be fun as I have always had OE setup.... and never fitted anything adjustable.... Do I set them up the same length as OE ones? Or do I have to do them individually / front and rear and check ride height? Any advice or experience welcomed.....

Well the measuring, template making and cutting out has begun... This morning I have hit the rusty hole area with my trusty wire brush attached to the MAKITA drill.... I finally found some solid metal to fix to and painted everything with some messy Rustins rust converter, including right inside the sill where there was some surface rust hiding inside. Templates cut out ready for transferring to some sheet steel... I shall be fabricating the repair panels later today at my work... I need to use the bench vice and I left my sheet steel and tin snips there... lol I will update the thread when they are cut out and folded properly later or tomorrow!

Hi, everyone I am a new member and just starting the journey towards hopefully owning a 300zx.(32) So, please bear with me, if my questions seem somewhat basic! I would appreciate some feed back on the merits of the manual and auto boxes. Is one more reliable than the other? Is there a real performance drop off, if you go the auto route? I would guess that the auto box is kinder to the whole transmission/rear suspension - correct? Also, regarding the twin turbo or naturally aspirated. Is the NA performance adequate? Are there differences in chassis cabin spec etc between the 2 models. Does the TT offer a better investment potential? Any advice wou…

Iv had the car apart since the respray fixing various issues and finally can see the light at the end but have only one problem left and i cant figure out what im doing wrong. Car is a 1990 Jap Import Have a Clifford alarm installed and for years the central locking worked fine. All of a sudden the passenger side door lock does not work but the drivers side does. Have the door cards off and there is a solenoid attached on drivers side, all fine.... passenger side door does not, have checked the Standard actuators and they receive power and work fine. Cannot figure out what's wrong, it doesn't seem to receive any signal from the drivers side, is t…

The process to clean up and freshen up the appearance of the top end of my engine has begun. Prior to fitting a new OEM 95+ harness, 740cc injectors and BDE VTC cam gears, I have gotten hold of a bunch of spare odds and sods to get refinished. My engine is pretty clean anyway but as the entire top end is being stripped down, I thought it high time to make everything totally fresh and new-looking before reassembly. I've just picked up these from the vapour blaster, they're going straight to the powder coaters tomorrow to be done OEM finish, well, apart from the outer rocker covers as they're a natural alloy finish and I'll be doing those a satin silver just for s…
