Well now I have them.... any advice on fitting them and setting them up for height and preload? Let alone setting up the EDFC? This could be fun as I have always had OE setup.... and never fitted anything adjustable.... Do I set them up the same length as OE ones? Or do I have to do them individually / front and rear and check ride height? Any advice or experience welcomed.....

Well the measuring, template making and cutting out has begun... This morning I have hit the rusty hole area with my trusty wire brush attached to the MAKITA drill.... I finally found some solid metal to fix to and painted everything with some messy Rustins rust converter, including right inside the sill where there was some surface rust hiding inside. Templates cut out ready for transferring to some sheet steel... I shall be fabricating the repair panels later today at my work... I need to use the bench vice and I left my sheet steel and tin snips there... lol I will update the thread when they are cut out and folded properly later or tomorrow!

Hi, everyone I am a new member and just starting the journey towards hopefully owning a 300zx.(32) So, please bear with me, if my questions seem somewhat basic! I would appreciate some feed back on the merits of the manual and auto boxes. Is one more reliable than the other? Is there a real performance drop off, if you go the auto route? I would guess that the auto box is kinder to the whole transmission/rear suspension - correct? Also, regarding the twin turbo or naturally aspirated. Is the NA performance adequate? Are there differences in chassis cabin spec etc between the 2 models. Does the TT offer a better investment potential? Any advice wou…

Iv had the car apart since the respray fixing various issues and finally can see the light at the end but have only one problem left and i cant figure out what im doing wrong. Car is a 1990 Jap Import Have a Clifford alarm installed and for years the central locking worked fine. All of a sudden the passenger side door lock does not work but the drivers side does. Have the door cards off and there is a solenoid attached on drivers side, all fine.... passenger side door does not, have checked the Standard actuators and they receive power and work fine. Cannot figure out what's wrong, it doesn't seem to receive any signal from the drivers side, is t…

The process to clean up and freshen up the appearance of the top end of my engine has begun. Prior to fitting a new OEM 95+ harness, 740cc injectors and BDE VTC cam gears, I have gotten hold of a bunch of spare odds and sods to get refinished. My engine is pretty clean anyway but as the entire top end is being stripped down, I thought it high time to make everything totally fresh and new-looking before reassembly. I've just picked up these from the vapour blaster, they're going straight to the powder coaters tomorrow to be done OEM finish, well, apart from the outer rocker covers as they're a natural alloy finish and I'll be doing those a satin silver just for s…

Hi all, With great sadness I have to announce that once again I cannot attend the NEC show this year. Unfortunately due to a few last minute issues my zed is not currently drivable to the event. Up untill this morning the plan was to attend and bring the zed down on a trailer but my insurance company has now informed me that they never received documentation and proof of value so they still haven't issued my agreed valuation certificate. Its a big risk on my part transporting my zed with no proper insurance in place. I've came so close but the list of items needing done is bigger than the two days left to do it all in. So wishing all the …

Good morning everyone, Recent owner of an 1992 NA manual Z32, I am currently facing gearbox damage issues : after repeatedly hearing loud rattling noises in 2nd and especially in 4th gear, we decided to open up the GB and check what was going on inside. Sadly (see pictures below), we saw that many parts were badly damaged. Does any of you faced something similar, and know what could be the reason of such an abusive wearing ? For information, my Z is a 1992 SWB NA of 130000 km, freshly imported from Japan this year. This has been spotted right on arrival. Clutch is new already. What would be your advice for the next step ? would you rather either : - g…

Right then, the symptoms are, I can hear the washer pump motor whirring away for the front wind screen washers when activated, but no water coming out of the jets, washer fluid bottle is full, jets are unblocked, So im guessing the impellor on the motor has had its chips, Nothing at all happens when I activate the rear screen wiper, ( well the wiper wipes, but no water sprays out) no whirring of motor etc etc, So what do you chaps think is wrong, and , can anyone supply me with a new tank with known good motors please, Thanks Sayers

Prior to my new 95 harness and 740cc injector upgrade, I'm refinishing everything I can on the top half of the engine. Loads of fasteners, hose unions and fuel rails are at the platers, spare rocker covers are going to be vapour blasted and powder coated a satin silver and satin black as per original, I'm getting a spare intake manifold and throttle assembly vapour blasted to look like new and may dismantle some of the fixings to get plated although not sure I want to take apart the entire assembly. Has anyone had their throttle housings powder coated with the bearings still in situ? I'm guessing that the seals could be damaged and grease in the bearings ruined howev…

Morning guys I would like to propose we change the areas in our “Meetings and events” forum. Currently we have 13 sub forums (never a good number in motorsports) and I would like to see this changed to 7 forums (National, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, North, Midlands, South). After a recent roll call in the current south coast forum I got 4 replies. That’s terrible and not worth the time trying to organise an event. If we had larger areas more people might check in and see what’s going on. Localised meets could still be arranged in these larger forums so there’s no lose there. I’m not suggesting this is going to make a huge difference but it MIGHT help get more…

As has been suggested by a member on here, I thought I would start a new thread on this subject as I was looking at a set of Tein coilovers. I'm looking for something that has adjustable dampers so as not to break my back. While I understand coilovers in their very nature are stiffer, a down side to going low, I also understand that some are pretty decent now. HSD and Buddy Club have been recommended, but they are a fair bit of money, especially for something that's to be driven once in a blue moon and most likely not at all for the next 6 months. Any opinions are welcome, especially on ride stiffness.

Morning guys. I got the car out this morning to take it to a paint shop in Worthing so they could see what they could do for my spoiler and paint matching (last time I visit somewhere, if they’re not helpful it’s time to think about a full respray.). When I drove off the drive there was a terrible grinding noise from the front off side. I pulled over straight away and confirmed the noise was coming from the front suspension area, it felt like it was coming from the FUCA. I drove it two miles straight to my local brake and suspension shop to get it on the ramps for a proper look but when we went back to the car the noise had stopped so they were unable to look for a p…
