Evening all. I recently acquired a new cluster, which was advertised as some sort of UK/JDM hybrid. Now it has a UK speedometer, but what i want to know is if the odometer will read in miles or kilometres. So, question the is, is there anyway to tell by looking at the cluster, whether it will count in miles or KM's? I've taken some pictures of the odometer on the off chance this will help answer my question. Thank.

Hey everyone, I thought you all might get a kick out this abomination 300ZX which is going to be featured on "Wrench Everyday"'s YouTube channel. Anyways if you want to know the short of the video, a YouTuber named Tavarish who has a few project cars he features rebuilds on, including a a and a just to know a few, has just purchased for his second more budget friendly YouTube channel "Wrenches Everyday" a sad looking 300zx with a twist, its a VH45 powered 300zx but this car is a total mess, the original owner sold the car for $1500 USD as an unfinished project car which the owner was planning to install a diesel turbo onto his VH45 swap and then ma…

Hi folks, Just a quickie - to save me removing a wheel and measuring, or digging out spigot rings - can someone please tell me the diameter of the hub centre bore, which the OEM wheel would mount on? I had in my head a smaller measurement of 59.4mm - but I remember reading 66.1mm somewhere too!! Richard

Any idea how they are mounted from the factory?I guess the long black metal strip goes behind the bumper and using 3 bolts you fix the license plate support.I think I am missing the side bolts from the metal strip, but I have no idea if they are the same as the middle one.

Parked mine up for the winter having done around 10,000 miles in it last year and time to sort some niggles ready for when she comes out again in the spring time. I had a Water system issue with the car last year, it was forcing Water out of a little heater pipe join right against the bulk head, right at the top behind the engine. I replaced the hose and the metal joining piece and no more water was coming out of there and I continued to use the car. The car however did still always smell hot after that and did always smell a bit of burning coolant at the end of the journey although the temp goes up and down as it should and always has done. What I found is tha…

Has anyone had a problem with their oil pumps, my engine started knocking and i found that no.1 cylinder has spun the big end bearing damaging the crankshaft and con rod annoying af to say the least. anyway my concern is why this has happened the engine was rebuilt 3000km ago and properly run in then all of a sudden it goes knock knock no warning of any sort also i have no oil pressure gauge wired up so could not tell if it had pressure or not the cluster was faulty anyways. thank god i did not sell this engine as i was planning to before it had the spun bearing. thanks in advance for any advice jack.

Hey all, The Zed has been behaving for the past six months (just replaced all the tyres and had the wheels refurbed a few months ago) but now I have a sniff test fail :( After giving her some welly a couple of weeks ago, I found a small amount of oil in the expansion bottle, followed by white smoke (steam) coming from both exhausts. Fearing the worst, I carried out a sniff test today and the indicator showed yellow (combustion gases in the coolant). Car is a 1993 UK spec and just approaching the 100,000 mile mark. Now, I've previously replaced the timing belt, done a plenum pull, bypass and delete with no real problems...… Big question - how difficult…

Recently posted on FB, but it appears that Samuri Motors has been resurrected... https://www.samurimotorcompany.com/history-of-samuri-motor-company/ Appears they’re planning on offering work on 300ZX’s, aswell as the 240/260/280Z’s that they were originally known for. Not sure on what to expect from them in relation to our Z’s, but curious to see how things develop.

Hi folks, I have a little project to finish - and just need a suitable ignition-on live power feed. What under-bonnet (preferably near the front of the engine bay) circuit would you suggest tapping into? As said must be a permanent live with ignition on, only - and one with easy access... Thanks  Richard:cool:

Hi guys, I kind of dissapeared after making my first post but I've returned... I've been trying to find the best way to remap/chip the ECU but I'm not making much progress. I can find some bits and pieces on the 1996 model however anyone I've spoken to is clueless about the 1997, I myself haven't been able to find much on it at all. Can anyone suggest the best route to map the ECU in it - it's a jap import TT auto(I know I know auto...). Would it be an Eprom, new ecu or anything? Thanks in advance guys. Matt

Hi folks, I have an intermittent issue with my boot catch - more specifically the circuit for the light/door open warning light. It seems to be earthing badly - or not at all. With the boot firmly shut, the interior light/door open dash warning remain on - or flicker on/off when driving. I have tried inserting a screwdriver into the catch (with the boot open) to mimic the boot being closed and sometimes it goes out, sometimes it doesn't. When I unbolted the catch, the light flickered and the circuit "clicked" with every turn of each bolt. And wiring a separate earth made no difference at all... Should I just get a replacement boot catch - or does anyone ha…
