Does anyone know if the knock sensor fault code should still come up on consult when it has been bypassed with the resistor in place of the actual knock sensor?

Ok, today I've sent my '93 Auto TT ECU away to Jeff at Zedworld to have a Zedworld chip fitted :D My car is pretty much stock, apart from an Apexi intake (single), Japspeed decats (inc Turbo elbows) and a Mongoose exhaust, given that the Zed has 97,000 miles on it and is Twenty years old - what kind of BHP am I looking at, after the ECU has been chipped? The car runs well, boosts well and appears to have been well looked after by it's previous owners, it's never let me down. On average (if there is such a measurement) - how much power (BHP), is lost over the years and how can it be reclaimed? I know that this like asking "how long is a piece of string?…

can some one please explain hid lights to me as in witch kit to use? what does all the h1 h3 ect mean? can you have both dipped and main beam in hid if so would I have to buy to kits very confused

I have completely disconnected the loom in the engine bay and now need to get at it from the inside where it passes through the bulkhead. I have removed the glovebox and hoped to remove what I believe to be the pollen filter housing/heater fan to access. I have removed many 10mm bolts but nothings budging. Is there a cheat to get to the loom or do I have to strip down dash????:confused1:

So i dont know whats in my car and im not going to start pulling the injectors out but. whats the standerd size and what would be a sensible upgrade to run with a large fmic straight through exhaust and rebuilt tubs with 360 degree things with stagerd oil seals or somthing. Want to upgrade next year fuel pressure aswell but dont know what to get then, ill have it mapped ,. if that makes any sence? with ref to injectos i here numbers like 370 550 600 jecs?

Well as most will know by now I have been rebuilding my Z this year..... I finished the welding about a month ago now and have been working to get the car running after a TT conversion.... A few days ago I primed the engine and new oil cooler ready for a test firing..... Today I got most of the bits finished..... all the injector plugs, coil plugs replaced with new ones, final intake pipes fitted, fuel lines connected...... I still have 3 small vacuum pipes to block off and the viscous fan to fit when it arrives and run vacuum pipes to the recirc valves.... But I turned the engine over just to see what would happen and she fired up almost straight away.…

Well i got a insurance quote from adrian flux. Agreed value of 6k with 5000 miles all the body and engine mods declared fully comp 395.00 but cant help thinking that i shouldnt have told them i got a quote for 400 cas im now thinking i could get it cheaper.

All, I've been running a Greddy Profec E-01 for about 6 or 7 years now, but noticed over the last 18 months or so that often the boost doesn't come on as strong as usual. When I look at the graphing display that shows the boost over the last 20-odd seconds (which is a very useful feature!) it's kind of scrambled in that the line will be bouncing up and down from top to bottom in a kind of scribble pattern, instead of showing a curved build-up and then straight line. This isn't overboost or the limiter kicking in as I know what that would look like, and I'm confident in the settings [which were tweaked by Noel recently]. After starting my car for the first time in three weeks to bring it out the garage after fixing my last misfire I noticed yet again it's running on 5. I pulled each coil feed and located the one that didn't change engine note, I swapped two coil packs over to see if the mis moved cylinder, it didn't, so I swapped the spark plugs, the mis didn't move, I checked the voltage at the coil feed and it's live... Hi everyone, I been trying to figure out this problem with my z where it will crank but it won`t start for the last few months. I looked through pretty much everything and replaced few things like the CPU, Fuel pump relay (new), Ignition relay (new), E.C.C.S. relay (new) and PTU (new). the ECU is not sending out ground signal to the fuel pump relay PIN#18, Ignition relay and E.C.C.S. relay PIN#16 but the ECU has good ground. I would really appreciate if someone could really help me with this. THANK YOU!!!!..

Well just insured the new Zed very surprised and very very happy 206.36 a year fully comp. Can't be bad that's with 'Be wise' and under a classic car policy. Happy happy... Pick her up on Saturday down in Brighton and staying over night with the Mrs... Wink wink... A night away from the kids lol

Hi all Was looking through the Z Centre website and say the digital clocks/speedo they do, I remember Seeing something like this on here before a good few years back, but looking through peoples pictures there seams to be more and more Being converted. Is Luke the only place that sells them? Or is there someone else? Just 490 on an exchange basis seams a little high to me??!?!! Thanks Neil

hello if anyone can tell me why my turbo in my zed gives me only 0.8 bar and nothing more, disconnected and blinded ebc hoses from the actuator also blinded, and still only 0.8 bar. in the system has no leaks please help

Another 12 months ticket obtained today , needed to sort fog lights out but other than that straight through, happy days, pity its going up on blocks tomorrow for its winter break. Sayers

Well its been a while... over 3 years i think, and Im back :biggrin::biggrin: Picking up the new Zed at the weekend. 92 jap TT manual, the current owner imported it himself in 99 after spending 3 weeks in Japan looking for 1. 56k on the clock and its Black (for now ;) ) Im so looking forward to getting back in a Zed. and getting to some meets.
